  1. Surely if only one stand you’d do the Jack Walker… though maybe HSS need the washer back tomorrow.
  2. Yep I never make a judgement on the squad until 1st September as loans often happen late. January, as always, is likely to be the bigger issue.
  3. Two different things. If ‘comms’ is “look there’s Suhail talking to the LT, only possible because of WATR pressure”… but it’s the usual stonewalling and dissembling, I’d rather not see it, read enough of that claptrap in the FF minutes don’t need to see it written somewhere else too. But if ‘comms’ actually means the likes of Our Ian not giving Suhail an inch in proper Consultation Meetings, then great, give ‘em hell.
  4. That's my point. We won't receive 'clear' communication from this regime, never have, never will. If more statements from the likes of Swag/Suhail ticks some 'we've seen an increase in comms from the club' box on a Trust press release, ok, but I ask again what value does that add when it comes from a fundamentally opaque and dishonest organisation?
  5. I was just going to post this. There seems to be too much emphasis on 'communication'. I honestly couldn't care less if I never heard from that plonker Swag again, or any of them. BS spouted to forums, BS spouted to Andy Bayes, BS, BS, BS. There is no transparency, so what value do these 'comms' add?
  6. Chaddy the 🦜 is back I see 😅
  7. ‘Politics’ directly impacts what you see at Ewood Park ,as one day we might well be watching League 2 football on the pitch… ‘oh, how did that happen?’
  8. Nonsense of this deal, *eight* games kick off at 12.30 on Saturday, just one game at all on Sunday even though there’s no Premier League 🤷‍♂️
  9. To be fair under these owners only one manager (Coyle) has been sacked since 2015 and that was far too late.
  10. Ah that’s why Bobby Moore was so good on the ball
  11. If anybody thinks he’s better than he is, it’s John Buckley.
  12. Of course in normal organisations the CEO is the person with the power, who sets the strategy, who is accountable - but you of all people should know this ain’t a normal organisation.
  13. All fair points Glen on the piss poor performance of this football club, but to say Swag is ‘100% accountable’ for both the commercial and recruitment side when Suhail obviously holds the purse strings on behalf of Pune is falling into the exact trap these owners want… he’s their useful idiot and lightning rod.
  14. Exactly, I imagine Parky and Nicko have been owd muckers for donkeys years - Nixon and Corporate Gregg? Not so much!
  15. Comes down to strength in depth, decent enough first XI, but when the inevitable months at a time absences of the likes of JRC and Hedges come along then we’ll feel it. Big few weeks to get ‘bodies in’, loans whatever.
  16. End of the day if he has all these attributes folk are describing and he banged a load in he wouldn’t be here. The last number 9 didn’t score many either, but never even got in the box to start with, so seeing a striker near the goal being a nuisance will be a novelty in itself.
  17. That’s Abbey Village for you, bit too close to Preston and their barms.
  18. Nevermind, had enough back and forth on the Euros thread.
  19. No chance we are selling nearly 3,000 at Stoke or a West Brom before general sale (it won’t sell out on general sale either). 5,500 at PNE before general sale? At 12pm on a Sunday?
  20. I think that’s Gav’s point. Has he been a good CEO for Blackburn Rovers, its fanbase? It’s infrastructure? It’s future? No, he’s been bloody appalling. But a good CEO for the owners? (Owners that also don’t care about Blackburn Rovers, its fanbase, it’s infrastructure, it’s future) Without doubt, kept the club ticking over with minimum of fuss for them.
  21. Apart from the Dingles (and maybe Luton as a tiny allocation) every other away game will reach general sale.
  22. Even if it’s a big derby against Stanley?
  23. I still think we’ll get a decent number of walk ons, spoke to a few that will be heading down that only see a few games a season (obviously not the numbers of a 3pm, but we’ll never see a 3pm opening day again).
  24. Of course, if you don’t have a spring in your step walking to Ewood next Friday, then why bother. The usual ‘sooo negative’, ‘give ‘em a chance FFS’ brigade are out (who doesn’t get behind new players BTW?) But at the end of the day if you sell £30million+ of players and then spend a fraction of that on replacements for a team that was already struggling last season, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see we’ll likely struggle again. Just the way it is, bottom end spend, bottom end wage bill = bottom end league position. We will drop if this ownership continues in this manner, let’s just hope the recruitment has been canny enough to put it off another year and then who knows this shower may have finally fucked off by then and we can start to rebuild this fantastic club of ours (they won’t have, but we can dream).
