  1. It’ll be £30-£40 for a Sky game so of course a club with only 9,000 ST holders won’t be getting to close to filling 31,000 seats.
  2. Americans wanting a big name… Plymouth the latest example. The Canadian at Wrexham much more canny.
  3. Yep, Dolan will walk into another Championship club no issue when he inevitably leaves for buttons in the summer. Yet, folk talk on here like he should be playing for Accy. He’s been a credit to himself since getting released at a young age and with an uncertain future in the game.
  4. Of course. No issue with stats or descriptors, but most of the terminology you read now is just age old tactics/postions re-labelled. I.e ‘a pivot’ ‘a number 6’, yet said with an earnest nodding head like they were just invented in the ‘data room’ at Brentford’s training ground or wherever.
  5. Does the hierarchy even care as long as they can shoehorn in another hotel or concert or corporate do. As Athers called it ‘a hospitality business with a cricket team attached to it’.
  6. Remember when that young Joe on here used to get really snippy if folk took the piss out of all this Football Manager terminology and ‘data’… but then again a quick google says he now works for Barrow so he’s obviously living the dream off the back of it ! 😀
  7. They already are, c4.5/5k walk ons for the league games so far. Big numbers those at £25 to £35 a pop. But it’s still difficult to make the ground look well populated with only 9,000 ST holders sitting with them. So, as always, I’ll repeat my mantra - we want substantially bigger crowds? ‘Sell substantially more season tickets’. It’s that simple here.
  8. Must be the hangover as the points Tyrone, Kent and me are making are pretty clear… you said ‘not being funny but Haaland’s numbers are way beyond Shearer’s’. One they aren’t for 92-96 Shearer and two you can’t compare them like for like when you think of the teams they played for. Makes Shearer even more phenomenal. Yes Haaland scored goals at a quicker rate, but there’s context behind that.
  9. Exactly so I’m struggling with your point as you aren’t comparing apples with apples here.
  10. Not that far off for teams that never got close to winning trophy after trophy like that lot do. Of course Haaland is top class striker, but Shearer was a phenomenon too between 92 and 96.
  11. Are his City stats way past Shearer’s 92 to 96 numbers? You can’t judge him from ‘97 onwards as he became a total different player post that Newcastle injury. Also, Shearer played in teams that competed towards the top, not one that are financially doped by a petro-state to win the league every season.
  12. This is the best it will be under these owners. So might as well just enjoy the feeling normal clubs get, you know, some actual decent players coming through the door in a transfer window. As much as anything it shows what you can do on a budget in this division if you have some actual canny football people involved, not corporate wallies with their ‘pathways’ and ‘models’. Football at this level is about the here and now.
  13. Shame they didn’t time the game last night with a United Legends Night.
  14. That Eyre gave them an absolute roasting on Radio Lancs post Sunderland. ‘Trafford strutting around and smirking thinking he’s the big man’ etc 😀, made our car journey home even more enjoyable.
  15. We have none for months at a time *every* season, that isn’t replicated elsewhere. Bristol City shirts are in stock online as is the Sunderland third shirt: https://www.safcstore.com/en/sunderland-hummel-third-shirt-2024-25/p-249956997638629368+z-90-3449563459?_ref=p-SFLP:m-GRID:i-r0c0:po-0
  16. No surprise at the crowd. Wednesday start so no weekend day is going to attract a decent gate to start with, so a lot of eggs in Friday’s basket, plus it’s been the most low key cricket summer I can remember with the Euros and Olympics as competition, and low profile tourers these days in the Windies and Sri Lanka. But no excuses as it’s up therefore up to Lancs to assess this summer’s market and price it accordingly, and they didn’t.
  17. And they’ll be gone before we even get to folk thinking about Christmas presents. Every. Single. Season.
  18. To be fair when it comes to early round League Cup crowds they are now way up on where they have been for donkeys years, over 8,000 home fans in last night, unheard of for a long time and higher than many comparable/Championship clubs … that performance won’t have helped to keep it that way like. But one again it shows the fanbase is still there.
  19. Happens every single season. Just a shambles of a football club wherever you look.
  20. But apart from that he was a top bloke, Rev. 😐
  21. Knowing the size of the stands after 30 years, I like your logic 😅
  22. Sam Dingle lasted on here for donkeys years under said Ancien Régime and he was far more of an obnoxious twat than the present two.
  23. You can buy on the night and it doesn’t say there’s a price rise for this one, presumably that’s just league games (no idea why the difference, as we know they just make it up as they go along).
