  1. Wingers? Don’t be a dinosaur! You’ll be asking for front twos next.
  2. Still up on the Nations League hill, ready to meet your maker. It's crap I'm afraid. Fans know it, coaches know it, players know it.
  3. Obviously the players take these ‘competitive’ games as seriously as the rest of us (roverandout aside, of course).
  4. Sherwood’s ‘equaliser’ at Old Trafford in the return fixture being disallowed due a supposed foul by Shearer as he nodded it across. Never forget my dad turning to me and saying ‘they will never let us win this title’… well we showed them!
  5. I’ve no idea because I haven’t watched any CL outside a free to air final on YouTube for years, but are fans taking to this convoluted Super League through the back door ‘Swiss model’? Now seems even more pointless to pay any attention until the KOs… but still, think of the 💰 💰 💰
  6. For the PL there’s a correlation as it’s elite level football with elite level profile. It can withstand fans being messed about, comes with the territory. People want to be part of it, to be associated with it. It’s showbiz. However, at this level, we haven’t before seen anything like the number of live matches, now, what, 14/15 games out of 23 will be live on TV? At all manner of inconvenient times. In this anything but elite division it will give a lot of ST holders across the Championship (especially at middling clubs) something to think about in future summers.
  7. I know, as obviously ST sales were pretty much concluded across the EFL before games were getting underway under this new deal, which is why I said.. ‘EFL crowds are at record levels not seen since the 1950s’ … and ‘The proof will be in the pudding in two/three years time when and if ST numbers and ergo gates generally have declined across the patch.
  8. I’m talking about the game in general where crowds are at highs not seen at this level since the 1950s, this club on the other hand has missed out on the boom (and we all know why) so there’s nothing to crow about with a few hundred extra turning up over a couple of years ago. So it will be interesting to what happens across the EFL with this saturated level of TV (including here as we sit on our mighty 4,000 adult ST holders, I’d say we can’t fall much further but we always can under these owners and the clowns they employ).
  9. I’m not a hypocrite I enjoy watching these extra away games hours away, but I think of more than just me, will this be a good thing for match going fans and attendances long term? The proof will be in the pudding in two/three years time when and if ST numbers and ergo gates generally have declined across the patch.
  10. I’m talking generally, you obviously think this new deal is great (and I mean, you personally, not the EFL or the clubs)
  11. Unlike others he can make 12:30s at Ewood no problem, and as he’s not the one setting off to the away ones at half 5 in the morning but instead gets to watch them through his beloved Sky subscription, then this TV deal is great from where he’s sitting.
  12. He isn’t perplexed really he just has to stick to the line as he knows he’ll somehow get another decent job by sticking to this ‘progressive’ football… but more fool the Southampton board for letting him use them and ending up back in the Championship as a result. Kompany ‘sticking to his principles’, getting relegated as a result, but ending up at Bayern Munich is the blueprint for all these pound shop Peps.
  13. We didn’t 800 to local-ish PL games at times, the away support has transformed in recent years… no reason why Ewood couldn’t follow the same path in different circumstances.
  14. On a poor run but still 700+ for a Cardiff Sky game at 12.30pm. Terrific support that.
  15. Few on here sounded like they wanted him as the next CEO a couple of months ago.
  16. Bit cerebral for most of the LT commenters, I’d wager 😅
  17. The ‘wider’ Rovers fanbase doesn’t particular care about the owners, never mind the wider game in general.
  18. Defo give them the Riverside and the Blackburn End Upper too, why not ay, got to claw back the bonus he lost for fecking up ST sales somehow.
  19. Can’t be having that, two up front and you are a dinosaur manager who will never get another job… until Pep decides two up front is the future and then you won’t work again until you put two up top.
  20. £33 minimum, of course the fans of the club that have led to these prices don’t pay the up to £40 that home fans will do if they wish to sit in the most populated stand.
  21. Leeds has been set at Cat A+ so £33 to £40, we know why obviously, feck the home fans when 7,000+ will fill the away end. However, I’m sure I don’t recall Cat A+ being a category this season, yet it is on this article (a recent edit?): https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/may/21/matchday-prices-confirmed/
  22. Hostage to fortune having a monthly competition when you have our forward options and Eustace managing them to boot.
  23. If you blindly back your team (a mid table one at that) to win every game then it’s not a prediction based on any kind of reality and is a waste of time typing it. I want us to win every game, I fancied us to win some of those earlier home games. Saturday? All of us in the car over were of the same mind, ‘tough one this, take a draw’… so were we not ‘backing our team’? I best tell them lads in the car to stay at home with their negativity in future.
