  1. Would like a copy of our Worthy cup win!! Has anyone got one at all?? Or know where to get one. Thanks!
  2. May of been at ewood but has stayed in Glasgow with friends the last 2 nights.
  3. He has been in Glasgow for the last 2 days.
  4. Ridiculous that Nissa has just been discarded for Moekena. Moekena looks like he has good physical attributes but that is about it- looks dodgy in my eyes and only a matter of time before we see how really bad he is. Unless injured Nissa should partner Todd. As his contract is up at the end of the season it seems unlikely he will stay.
  5. Hughes has played this cleverly- Ferguson is not going to disrupt anything if he stays. Of course if Rangers offer big cash and meet our valuation he would go but that seems unlikely. Boo him?? Why- just for the sake of booing- Ferguson if he stays is probably our best player and I am not going to boo him when we are in a relegation scrap. As I said before back the manager on this one. If he thought he would be a problem we would have sold him by now.
  6. Hughes wanted him to stay- back the manager, quite simple really.
  7. I dont particularly want to see Bothroyd play for us ever again.
  8. Mark Hughes grinned sardonically when asked what impact Robbie Savage would have on Blackburn. “I said to him the only reason I have brought him is that he will raise the profile of the club and we will get more than two minutes at the end of Match of the Day,” Hughes said grimly.
  9. Have to agree with Shearer being the undipsuted king. Also agree with Alan's remarks on Jansen- top scorer in our first season back up and before his accident he had sheer class.- I still believe......
  10. Who is captain today??
  11. For some reason I had given up hope of Savage coming- have not even been thinking about it for a couple of days. However according to people on here a deal is near to being struck. I very much look forward to seeing a Sav-Fergie partnership.... however Everton remains a major problem as they surely will go for one of the 2 now.
  12. Newcastle are interested now as well!! Great.... the ned wants to go home- what a tw*t. Fair enough if he is really homesick but I doubt it.
  13. The bid is not dead but it may be time to move onto other targets. Hughes with a dignified response this morning.
  14. Savage running around pis*ing himself for the reserves this evening, apparently we had a scout at the match! Only ones looking stupid are the co*** on the Brum board. Still hoping we will get him. Brum just have to face it that he does not want to play for them and wants to join the Hughes revolution.
  15. I have the feeling like Jim that relations between clubs is not the best. The Mark Bowen factor wont help matters as Bruce and him dont speak anymore- they would be happier selling him to another club. IMO that is part of the reason for them not accepting our bid.
  16. Awesome result- we look like a team now. Cant post or see the transfer topic thread for some reason- on a new computer!!- so will put the latest news here. Of course the Savage story is dominating the news- some papers even saying it is a done deal... not sure about that yet. However we are very close to signing Tomo Sokota- however we are looking into issues regarding his registration- he is a very good player by the way and we are getting him on a nominal fee as his contract runs out in the summer. Will put links when I get them.... http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/...1382693,00.html
  17. Usually I dont mind transfer stories when they concern us. However this Savage saga is getting rather annoying and boring now. I would like him to come, he wants to come and our manager wants him to come. Looks like we will make another bid that will be rejected- hopefully thats the end of the issue one way or another eventhough if he does come it will be worth it.
  18. I have to admit in the past maybe I backed Souness too much. I liked the man more than the manager. It is his character though that get certain people to despise him from the start and their opinion will never change.
  19. We will make another bid- no doubt. First of all Hughes rates Savage and always used to say that he dragged his Welsh team by the scruff of the neck. Steve Bruce has said he wont keep an unhappy player in his club- hopefully a fee can be agreed eventhough relations between the clubs are sour. Secondly people saying- oh it looks like he wants to come. It was obvious since Hughes took over that Savage would be a target. Also the fact he best friends out of football with our assistant manager. As I write Savage has denied wanting a transfer on SSN but does say he has family problems........
  20. Savage's reason wanting to leave is to be nearer his family- surely there is not that much in distance?? Wonder how Brum will react to that. Anyway he obviously wants to come and join his mates at Blackburn and I think we will try with another imrpoved bid. Would not surprise me to see Everton come into the equation as they have gone for him before but did not have the money. I know we are all desperate for a striker but I cant see there being one available at a decent price in January so we may be better off waiting until the summer when more options are available.
  21. "The speculation's always going to be there. Birmingham have turned down Blackburn's bid but one thing I will say is that I can't understand how I'm now valued at £3.5million." "It's hard living away from your family in those circumstances, especially when you've got a young child. That would be the same if I was playing for Real Madrid or Birmingham, I would like to be in the north west if possible"
  22. I am not sure of the stats but if the home form was a problem throughout Souness's time here then fair enough. I can understand people having enough of it. You pay your money you deserve entertainment. I always thought we played nice, attractive football apart from last season when we lost our best player, had key injuries for a small squad and our manager started to lose the plot. So people will never go to Ewood again? Unless they are convinced of us winning the title possibly? Tris does have a point, some of our fans are spolit pri*ks. Hopefully now those who demand us nearer the top can see we have a bright manager who I think is destined in time for great things.
  23. I cant believe some of the things I am reading. I am talking about the WHOLE of Souness's time with us. Not just the last year when everything was poor granted. Well I doubt we could have improved on 6th to be honest unless we kept our best player and bought on top of that- what the hell do people expect?? Constant progession is near impossible- in terms of league positions. Get real guys. I always remember an article in the LET before last season when Souness said we would struggle because of the departures and he was doubtful if we had the individual talent to beat teams- it ended up a horrible season and a fight to stay in the league, much worse than he probably ever imagined. In terms of attractive football- I remember playing our way out of the Nationwide and apart from last season we did play a good brand of football under the man you all despise now. We were lucky things worked out the way we did- Souness's shelf life was up and now we have one of Britains promising young managers.
  24. Difference of opinion here- on the whole we played good football under Souness. You cant turn it on every game! Of course people remember the last part of his reign where things went wrong- lot of injuries mixed in with bizarre team selections and playing people out of position.
  25. Ferguson has been playing well- couple of games this season where he went missing but he is a quality player. He is a playmaker who if he had the luxury of a quicker forward we would see his true worth. I agree with other people who think he will get better- he is a winner and we must hold onto keeping him. The logic of 'cashing' in makes no sense if we want to progress as a club on the football side of it. I have no doubt Hughes sees Ferguson as someone to build our team around. The addition of Savage though would ease the burden on Fergie- I reckon we would struggle if Ferguson was to get injured for a long period of time. Basically all our play goes through him and the team always seem to look up for him when in possession. On Savage- you dont come out with his comments today unless you want to go. Birmingham may accept that he is unsettled. With Beattie's money coming in I reckon we will put another bid in unless we have a viable alternative who Hughes thinks can be as influential as Savage.
