  1. Just got a 'breaking news' text. Hughes said today that Nelsen and Bellamy have both trained fine and unless they get a reaction they will play on Saturday.
  2. I am not sure, just raising the question but has Jansen actually had a good run in the team since his accident. I am talking like 6 games in a row or something like that. There always seems to be a problem which arises, injury or whatever which has curtailed him. When Souness put him in, Souey was going through a period when he changed the team every match. This was when we were constantly losing.
  3. key76 - well summed up!
  4. I just make sure everything is kept in context - of course the addition of Bellamy will only fuel those lazy journalists who are labelling us at the moment. However, I look back to Henry Winter's article a few months back and can only agree. Being one of the most respected journo's about it was good to read. Few other respected ones (journos) as well, chap from the times, have given ourselves and Hughes credit. Winter's comments below: Having played under Sir Alex Ferguson, Hughes's man-management skills are inevitably sharp. Evidence of his galvanising traits can be found all over Ewood. Assisted by a good back-room staff, Hughes has turned Andy Todd into an excellent Premiership stopper. Steven Reid imposes himself more consistently. Morten Gamst Pedersen blossoms. Robbie Savage has been recruited to ensure no one relaxes, friend or foe. Aaron Mokoena and Ryan Nelsen have brought grit and leadership. The late, much-missed Jack Walker would have been thrilled at Blackburn being associated with steel again. The presence of Mokoena and Savage has seen Rovers labelled "physical". Last season, Mourinho himself complained about Hughes's tactics, yet the Welshman's priority has always been to make Blackburn devilishly difficult to beat. His players work incredibly hard and embarrassed some of Liverpool's stellar names on two occasions last season. Blackburn are not dirty, just dogged
  5. Got to love Souness's quotes after the game - 'on another day' we would have won. 'On another day etc etc! Shearer appears to copy some of Souness's quotes these days I have noticed! Also how he felt that if they went in 1-0, they would have been playing into their favourite end - always used to say that about the Blackburn end from memory......
  6. Jansen will take a while to get this sharpness back - he has been out for a long, long time. Good to see him scoring... considering he was out of the game for a while his goals to games ratio is still quite good - keep the faith!!
  7. Souness said he got Emre in because they lack aggression in midfield. What about Butt, Bowyer, Faye…..?
  8. Said today he needs 5 more players - yet more millions being wasted!!
  9. Interesting article to Dickov!!!
  10. anyone see Tommo's skinhead??
  11. modes98 - out of interests have you done an all nighter? Or just very little sleep... Ahhh, summer holidays - enjoy them while you can!
  12. Looking forward to seeing Souey's 4-3-3 formation next season....
  13. IF we steer clear of injuries to key players, 4th it is for me.
  14. I don't think Hughes is putting on this positivity which we have been hearing from him recently. He seems a very positive man and manager, and that appears to rub off on the playing staff. He seems to talk very positively and has this effect on the training ground. Looking at the staff around him (Mark and Eddie), he has a huge amount of confidence in their ability and the players seem to love the training sessions. Take the Jansen situation, IMO Matt could not be in better hands under Hughes & Co. and will have no better chance to getting back to normal, rather than if Souey was in charge. Hughes is talking positively about Matt coming back to his old self. A Hughes is talking about getting into Europe, why not? The emphasis he puts on training, preperation and the mental side of the game makes me genuinely excited about next season. I always refer to his intelligence, and that alone gives me great hope for the future of our club. He also has a deep passion to win at all costs and we saw that rub off on the team in certain games last season in terms of their character. Hughes suffers no fools, either. Certain players, opposing managers and press have found this out, he always backs his side's corner. No wonder our board are backing Hughes - Deep down I always thought they would back him. He is impressing me more and more each day.
  15. Some of the comments here are ridiculous...........
  16. Think Jim has had a few e's - always on a permanent come down
  17. Tugay will love it - finally someone he can make his 'killer' passes to!
  18. def back at work tomorrow (still there now) may even have a few afternoon beers for Bellamy. Hope everyone is ok all those related.
  19. Suppose madness probably not the correct word. Still getting on with my work, to be honest the Bellamy news has knocked me off track for a few days now.
  20. Think so tcj, it’s madness at the moment.
  21. Just wait until he gets playing and is finally FIT, everyone will suddenly adore the floppy haired one...
  22. Always a good game Brian Lara's, nice to see it back.
  23. JW said so, think he was denying involvment with Robert- not exactly a huge shock is it.....
  24. Don’t want to go too much off topic, but we know that Hughes is happy with the wide men we have at the club. So looking at the midfield, it would be a more attacking player centrally, if anyone, to come in that department. Savage is a guaranteed starter, so it would be someone to play alongside him. Midfielder would only be brought in after a striker…….
  25. still got 12 goals.
