  1. How low can things go? A quick fire list and apologies for not including everything… VI called for stability earlier in the summer - ie let’s keep most of the better players in the squad together… Three stooges come out defiantly following request not to attend matches - only to be clearly talking crap CEO leaves abruptly and still not replaced Captain not happy and wants to leave VI on repeat in every press conference - like a tape recorder - talking about the “mistakes” of the past and who is going to depart next Complete vacuum of communication from the club as usual Can’t sign anyone on a new contract and anyone half decent wants to leave Chat GPT statement from the owners on the eve of the season stating a “renewed sense of optimism” As always, a total shambles….
  2. Transfer window potentially turning into disastrous with the Travis departure - what happened to VI’s comments (only a few weeks ago) on keeping the squad together / continuity!?
  3. VI suggesting post match that Travis is likely to leave…….we are unable to keep any of our better players - surprisingly contradicts the owners “defiant” message season eve on our ‘determination to strengthen on the pitch and build on last season’…..
  4. I can’t comment too much on the new signings, as I don’t know enough about them. Batth and Brittain have been two of our better players, though — we can’t keep losing key players without replacing them adequately. There are still clear question marks over Travis as well, and it doesn’t look like we’re close to a positive resolution there either. All we can do now is hope the new signings are as good as those who have left.
  5. One down, two to go - turning out as predicted.
  6. We seem incapable of keeping our better players, even if it’s to teams in the Championship? On the assumption Brittain / Travis leave. Confirms our “ambition” and clearly our financial challenges are maybe worse than being reported.
  7. Turning out to be the longest saga(s) ever? (these contract “negotiations”). Or is it an (unlikely) case of no news is….. Contradicts Gestede’s comments a few months ago when he suggested we were close to announcing some extensions - same old story.
  8. Disappointing to lose Batth - we always looked solid with him in the team (backed up by the defensive stats). Decent championship experience too which is very important. Money must be extremely tight on wages, hence the on-going contract discussions; it will be interesting to see if we can actually keep any of our better players.
  9. So, not surprisingly, there has been complete silence since Waggott’s departure. There’s been nothing at all - not even rumours - about a replacement. I can’t think of many clubs where there’s such a complete communication vacuum, especially after the CEO leaves.
  10. Lose track of all the nonsense that goes on these days at Rovers - as others have said (and was speculated recently) then Gestede for CEO could be a possibility - anything which doesn’t make sense and lacks ambition usually fits the criteria.
  11. An owner communicating in public with their fans - https://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2025/05/from-the-top-a-message-from-david-clowes-may-2025
  12. Seems very scripted - totally out of his depth and comes across as a smarmy prick.
  13. Post match the sky pundits talked mostly on Boro - when they did discuss Rovers, they were quite punchy on potentially VI being sacked (even at this stage) and also questioning Gestede “younger players” focus on his interviews. It’s positive that the running of the club is being discussed publicly again as most normal football people will ask what is going on, and question the decision making. The crap being spouted by our “exec team” needs to stop. No one with any aspirations would hire our current head of football operations or current manager. The piss taking needs to stop and we (the fans) are the ones suffering.
  14. Doesn’t make sense and doesn’t stack up but what does…? Gestede as head of football operations because he’s a former player and has no credentials at all for the role……..it’s all a total sham.
  15. Terrible demeanour and looks like he switches off at points during matches….just sits there and looks fed up. Must be up there with one of the worst starts to a managerial reign, had some decent fixtures too. Maybe needs another international break to give him extra time to get his “ideas” across to the players (with a lot of them out of contract in the summer, I’m sure their care factor will be high…)
  16. Well done @glen9mullan and all involved - loads of coverage generated today. Regarding Gestede - was yet again a very odd appointment.
  17. Local rival and their situation is of course relevant to us as we have similar financial problems - strange post...
  18. Wow, massive losses/debt, that's why I was asking the other day how we fair comparatively. Link below shows biggest one year losses in English football @sportingintel: Bolton join .... errm ... an elite band. http://t.co/ayyK0r8Hek
  19. They are missing a few key players - plus are as average as us so thinking we won't lose...
  20. Exchanged a few PMs with Kelvin over the years - a thoroughly nice man who cared deeply about Rovers. Very sad news. RIP
  21. Along with that, the Germany incident with a Sky Sports reporter (drunk again). The pi**ed up video when he claimed top 10 finish and a trophy. These are just the stories we know about too. He is a first rate chancer who is taking the mick remaining in his role.
  22. With Kean and Hendry regarded as big drinkers and in poor shape themselves, hardly a good example to be set by management -- feel sorry for Eric Black who is one of the more normal members of staff we have behind the scenes.

  24. Sorry to hear this news - RIP.
