  1. I think your view is wrong we have for some games nearly 2 to 3k walk ons fans. So why are these fans chosen their games they go to? are they not interest in ST or can't afford it or family/work commitments don't allow it. Do you know any Rovers fans who don't attend for the reasons above? or other reasons 1864 roverite has posted above? Do you have any ideas to boost attendances that haven't already been posted?
  2. Everyone does know the role in the team and how to play it. I disagree on a consistency of a formation as we have been adaptable and change formation in the game needs it Yes Walton was right to waive them away and not take a risk in conceded a goal like Arsenal did against Watford. Nyambe can play centre back and as part of back 3. I thought the back 3 worked very well in a defensive sense. Give it a chance instead of judging after 1 game. That's one of biggest problem is you are very quick to criticise and unwilling to give it proper chance like a run of games.
  3. Rovers had worked on 3 at the back for 2 weeks prior to the game. I like the 3 at the back from a defensive point of view. It took Sheffield United weeks to get it right but they did. Rovers will switch formations week in week out depending on who we are playing, game situation and how the game is going. I dont see the players being confused by it either Never said Holtby was strength in depth signing. I said his signing would increase the squad quality..my strength in depth comment was about the overall strength in centre midfield Downing has been good in the majority of games.
  4. Both proved how good they played last season.. 1. Right. Maybe look to sign him permanently.. 2. Agree depending who Mowbray wants 3. Cunningham deal might end up perm in summer 4. More than happy with Bennett at right back/wing back
  5. Wasnt the player Williams or Lenihan. Who have keep 4 CLEAR SHEETS in last 5 games!
  6. Keeper? To replace Walton Centre back. Yes but get one in January. Left back?.why? Right back? Why? Getting rid Smallwood and Evans out would be a start
  7. Huddersfield squad needs a clear out. Far too many poor players there. Cowley got a big job on. Monk got his tactics spot on and deserved to win
  8. very disappointed to hear this.
  9. Holtby would be very good signing and would increase the squad quality. Football is a squad game and there is plenty of games and we need strength in depth. We will pick up suspensions and injuries during the season. We will play different formations during the season and I believe this right for me
  10. well he did follow it actually. Thought Pete would. We have discuss this between the 3 of us to death. I don't want go over this time after time. Thanks Pete for the respond. I will DM you later in the day
  11. We talked between us that sort of ticket for fans who could only 7 or 8 a game due to varied reason. Have you emailed them since that meeting?
  12. he already as yesterday on radio lancs post match
  13. It seems that the trust and Walker family wanted rid asap that season. I would like to know how many people was interested in the club during the period was for sale? what advice did Williams and Finn give to the trust and Walker's family? did they suggest to them to keep the club and keep running the club as they where? Did either see where the TV deal were going? Wasn't David Brown(Rovers vice chairman) going around India trying to sell the club? Yes the PL ha been transformed in the last 10 years but we are in championship. So how many people would be interested in buying Rovers and willing to cover their losses each season
  14. WE shouldn't be playing long ball to Gallagher but into his feet. Last season form is last season. His form in pre seasons in the game I seen wasn't impressed enough and Downing form so far this season has been good. I don't want Downing on the right wing either. Rothwell in the Fulham game wasn't impressive but neither was Armstrong who didn't make the use of the space he was allowed in the game. I am big Rothwell fan but for me his best position is the 10 role in a playmaker role or wide left, where as Armstrong best position is either wide right or up front. So for me they are players who play in different position. Yet again Chapman and Buckley are different player who play different positions/roles.
  15. very good victory by England. England will miss Bayliss as coach and by the sounds the players will aswell. I think Bayliss last interview was excellent and show he has been great for our game. I'm very interested to see how replace Bayliss now. Also Botham and Gower have just finished Commentating for the last time for Sky. End of era. Botham is fantastic as commentator
  16. I don't mind playing right if he needed to due to tactical reasons Yes you right about it should be have been the other but Gallagher right side with Armstrong left and Dack Central.
  17. The Birmingham spell for Gallagher was a disaster for him and was never used right by Cotterill and his very long ball style. If he look how to get Gallagher used the best look at how he scores his goal. His header against Sheff Utd was excellent. Either Rothwell or Armstrong has impressed me much from the start. Rothwell has been better as an impact sub this season. Currently I don't see Rothwell starting if we get 3 at the back. Cos of the form of Travis, Johnson and Downing who would be my 3 in centre midfield. with Dack and Gallagher up front. I don't see where Chapman fits into the match day squad currently. He has to keep playing well for the under 23's and he will get his chance at some point
  18. no imagination? I came up with a number of ideas Stuart in the summer and before. I've took my step daughter to Rovers this season as a season ticket holder and she enjoyed it every time. I got into Rovers and football cos my dad took me to Rovers and I was hook. my 1st game was league cup in season 93/94. I have so many great memories from the era and I still remember those days like yesterday and alot of my favourite players are from that era. Just like the Hughes era. You cannot come up with a strategy to get back every fan. I gave you example before of a diehard Rovers fan who wants to attend home game but simply cannot not due to reasons ive gave. Maybe you should email Steve Waggott with your ideas and see whether you can meet him to discuss your views
  19. we aren't a PL club anymore and wasn't Hull in the PL a couple of seasons ago
  20. You tend to hear the odd person moaning but that's it. I've heard people shouted insulting things towards players and their wives. but you will always get that a small minority saying this
  21. I don't see that at all happening or even a chance. Hull have been available to buy now for a number of seasons and still no buyer For me, the club have done some things trying to get fans back or attract new ones but there is no one answer to this problem or even a couple of solutions as people have different issues. I know a diehard Rovers fan who would like to attend every home game with his son but he sadly cant cos of 3 different problems these being his work pattern, His missus having to work 1 in 3 Saturday, 2 other kids to look after who aren't interested in football and have other activities on Saturday these do. So How can Rovers solved this problem and Im sure many other Rovers fans and families have this of problem to deal with
  22. it was great to see Graham doing that at half time. It would have made those kids days. Yes the players are very well supported by the vast majority of fans in the ground.
  23. Its a good idea Stuart tbh. I wouldn't have Home and away fans in both stands tbh. Away fans only in Darwen end and Home seating and Disabled fans in Riverside stand isn't the plan to have a hotel in the riverside stand?
  24. where are you getting another 6500 season ticket holders from? Have we ever 16k season ticket holders in the championship? we couldn't even attract new owners in our PL days so how realistic it to expect the club to a attractive option considering the debt that needs covering every season for the playing squad, academy to run? Just imagine the playing squad if the club had to be run a balance budget and no debt. Football is a business not just a football club So Stuart, instead of blaming fans why don't you try to set a meeting up with Waggott to discuss this issue? Have you done this? They are so many different factors in people who were season ticket holders in the past who don't attend that it is going to be hard to attract these back to being a ST Holder again. The reasons are different working patterns, Family commitment, other sporting interest like Golf, Horse Racing, Cricket now, lost interest in football, lack of Premier League football, etc and etc. wasn't the Walker family more interest in their airline Fly Be? I find your post bizarre tbh. You are very quickly to stick up for non attending fans but you don't answer what will get them back? Just have a go at a poster who makes good points tbh
