  1. He wasn't at the Birmingham game he was with the 2 players where they were having their medicals in Manchester
  2. missing me Duncan? sadly other things take priority like sleeping after working a night shift guess you don't work nights tho or never have?
  3. as long as I keep you happy pal, shame to see others having their sly digs cos I haven't been on the forum for about 24 hours. Pathetic to be honest
  4. I see Klopp has been moaning about Chelsea spending so much money but Chelsea have been buying alot of good exciting and promising young players plus giving them so many long term 5 years plus contracts. Chelsea have played well in the game but I see that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left out of tonight match day squad and their 25 man champions league squad. He was panic buy and not what they needed
  5. I guess when a player of Lewis O'Brien quality becomes available that changes that stance. Plus his quality would help us secure a playoff place and promotion chances. The project is to become a sustainable PL club firstly so if we got promotion this season and then came back down before getting promotion again and staying there then that would be the aim would be met. I hope Thomas signs here permanent if the summer. Think he would be good permanent addition if we can agree a deal in the summer. Yes it does and he has taken full responsibility for that failure. We still sign a striker on a short term contract like Lewis Grabban or Chris Martin. not great but would be help for the final 18 games 3. If we had signed a striker and O'Brien probably a 10 no, I still have faith in the project under Broughton and Jon Dahl Tomasson Good question
  6. Gregg Broughton gave a full account of how the O'Brien transfer came about on Rovers TV with him coming for his medical in the Afternoon in Manchester which GB met him and his agent there. He said he left Manchester at 9.20 pm to go back to Brockhall whilst they were doing the paperwork, TV interviews with Rovers etc. Blimey Butty, I was working last night so I have been sleeping majority of the day. I didn't realised you were missing me so much Butty.
  7. I have listened to Rovers TV interview with Gregg Broughton tonight and He took full responsibility for the 2 failed transfers on transfer deadline and the failure to secure a number 9 striker. I thought he was honest, blunt and straight to the point. I don't any of the blame for what appears to be administrative errors is the fault of him personally. Also said Rovers would look at the internal side so why it failed in these circumstances. He also explained the problem with the 2 strikers deals we had agreed before the circumstances changed on the other club point of view. Something he can't be blame for but a striker should have been signed during the Transfer window. I would expect to a very different approach in the summer from him and JDT with signings and I would expect us to do our business early doors I am pleased that Gregg Broughton did come out today and take full responsibility for it and saying he is control of the football side of the club. I also feel gutted for JDT who wanted to strengthen his team for the final 18 games and secure at least a playoff place. I also agreed with his comments that the Rovers players and him need the fans to be behind the team for the run in and on Monday night against Wigan. I also feel gutted for both players who wanted to come here and still do. I hope that our appeal for the Lewis O'Brien works and we can sign him. The Ethan Brierley transfer will happen in the summer anyway.
  8. It's the club secretary job to sort the paperwork of the transfers out and sent to the correct people on time.
  9. @philihas already answered this question for you This failed transfer of O'Brien isn't Broughton fault. Simple as.
  10. Broughton isn't the problem here for this transfer but its down to our Club secretary Ian Slivester not doing the paperwork correctly that is his job not anyone else. Simple as much as you want to blame him for this. May have been out of control? We have deal agreed with the club for players when both club backtrack and cancel the deal. That's isn't down anyone at Rovers. Yes I did keep with my club I support and will continue to back them. If they deserve then i will give it and if they deserve criticism then I will give it
  11. Why? The paperwork for the transfer isn't his job but the job of the Rovers football club secretary Ian Slivester job to sort it out.
  12. Like I said yesterday in my post that "Simple not good enough if O'Brien didn't get done if these rumours are true. If we didn't a sign striker and O'Brien then it's not good enough and I would like to know why. I am concerned that we haven't got a striker in during this window. A proven number 9 striker is what we need if we to stay in the playoff hunt. I would like to know the reason why we didn't get a striker in and I will await the Gregg Broughton's interview and what actually happened as I want to know the fact behind it. We should have got one in no question asked" The fact that 2 clubs went back on deals we have agreed with them isn't Rovers fault which I believe 2 days you actually agreed now you change your opinion again. Reading from Nixon's article and Sharpe's article plus what a poster has said this seems an administrative problem which would be our club secretary Iain Slivester area to fill the correct paperwork so don't know how you blame Broughton for it which that stuff isn't his remit. Yes Broughton has the responsibility for the lack of striker signing but I would like to hear the full circumstances and what actually happened during the transfer window first before any sort of verdict
  13. All depends who fault is it for this? Is it Rovers fault? If so who fault is it? In other news, we might look at a free agent striker
  14. seems like plenty of deals like this aswell
  15. I am concerned that we haven't got a striker in during this window. A proven number 9 striker is what we need if we to stay in the playoff hunt. I would like to know the reason why we didn't get a striker in and I will await the Gregg Broughton's interview and what actually happened as I want to know the fact behind it. We should have got one in no question asked Not really after working night shifts I sleep during the day. Plus also there is no news on the transfer front just speculating after speculating I work nights Tom so I can stay up all night The recruitment team isn't in charge of making transfer happening but finding targets within our playing budget that we think would improve the team. simply their job is to find players, scout them, either recommend them or not then present a shortlist to GB and JDT to decide who we want, then GB and SW need to negotiating the transfer with the club, player and agent.
  16. Simple not good enough if O'Brien didn't get done if these rumours are true. If we didn't a sign striker and O'Brien then it's not good enough and I would like to know why. Won't be going OTT until everything is announce firstly.
  17. We can announce whenever as long as the paperwork is filed in time
  18. Wait until everything is announce firstly. Overreacting here
  19. Well played Rovers Pears made some very good saves. Maybe he should start against Wigan. BBC radio Lancs commentator Neil McDonald has given plenty of praise for Pears, Travis, Dack and Carter tonight. Very good commentator
