  1. All depends who on the pitch at the time and what order of the penalty takers are. I would think BBD is first then possible Hirst then maybe Dolan after Fans have to understand what JDT wants and as he and our director of football Broughton have both said that he needs them on the training ground for long period of time which will happen in November during the world cup cos at the minute its mostly 1 or 2 days on the training field at the minute with it mostly being recovering days and games at the minute. Yes, our tempo and pressing high wasn't good enough which was 2 key parts why we underperformed yesterday. We need more movement ahead of the defending line if we want to play out from the back. There is nothing playing a long ball and mix it up at times or when is necessary
  2. I'm surprised by that but I will leave it there as we won't agree on that. I would say we were excellent against Blackpool and Watford. We made Swansea a poor team. QPR was more than decent enough performance and West Brom I don't think we rode our luck at all. I don't think we weren't abysmal against Millwall. Its was standard Championship game first half with each team not wanting to give much away. I thought we had a decent second half against Bristol City. Sheff Utd, Luton and Reading were bad performances but like JDT has said we will have bad results and performances along the way in the project
  3. PL teams don't play in the EFL trophy. The EFL Trophy is annual English association football knockout competition open to the 48 clubs in EFL League One and EFL League Two, the third and fourth tiers of the English football league system and, since the 2016–17 season, 16 under-21 sides from Premier League and EFL Championship clubs. before last night Hirst had 10 Pen scored from 12. Rich Sharpe provided the stats this morning
  4. Your Pompey mate wasn't convinced by Hirst despite him scoring 15 goals for them in 46 games and being Pompey top scorer. Wow.
  5. Firstly, no one is getting arrogant! We played well in more than 3 games for me. Yes we had some poor performances like Sheffield United or Luton games, but I would say Both Fulham games, Reading away and Forest game was much worst performances or even the Derby (first half) and Stoke home games were much worse than this season performances. Blackpool game was only, ok? I'm shocked by that response. Watford game we were very good. I have answered your questions posed to me. Venkys or anyone at Rovers isn't sacking JDT when we are 6th in the league after 12 games.
  6. No, Gregg Broughton first mention about project and what was involved in it right from the start of his appointment. Did you miss all that? I don't mind the way he wants to play and I see it as work in progress as a team. Similar how Farke did it in first season at Norwich where it took time and a season of transition this might be. I like my team pressing high and I would like to much more of this unless we a team like Swansea where we had to play differently and won the game. I think our tempo of passing has been far too slow and we need to use Callum Brittain much way in an attacking outlet. He is a good crosser of a ball, so we need to use him more. Reason why I would like Hirst up front and BBD coming in from the left to finish of those crosses and score goals from it. It's a question you have asked before of me, here my answer (which hasn't change) . https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/35339-transfer-window-complete-where’s-gregg/?do=findComment&comment=2372799 no, I wouldn't
  7. No, He doesn't have to change tack but actually sticking to what he wants to do and get the team used to playing that way by getting them on the training field and keep playing the way he wants.
  8. so you didn't enjoy the QPR, Blackpool or Watford game where we pressed from the front, did you miss this? Still blaming the owners again for nothing. He will stay in place cos he has the backing of owners CEO, GB and the players plus most fans. Rightly so when we are 6th in the league, some people calling for him to be sack is crazy and embarrassing in my opinion.
  9. For me, Hedges has been our best attacking player despite last night off night he should be starting. I want to see more of Szmodics and I thought he had decent game last night.
  10. How are we short in midfield when we got 4 good centre midfielders to play 2 positions in Travis, Morton, Buckley and Adam Wharton? Gregg Broughton has said Hirst was our first choice striker target all summer so why don't you believe him and take him at his word? We chased for 6 weeks before we signed him cos of Leicester problems. Hirst and Broughton both confirmed this so what have you got to say this isn't true? Mola isn't it and he got injured a couple of weeks ago, so Rovers are building his fitness back up Szmodics had a decent game last night, almost scored and drop deep when he needed to get the ball.
  11. He is natural Penalty taker which has seen him before last night scoring 10 goals from 12 Penalties taken. BBD was very poor and did nothing at all game. really? based on what? this site? You seem to be unable and unwillingness to be able to get behind JDT and Project/plan Rovers have. I don't know why this is. I don't subscribe to this that he doesn't his best 11 cos Its a squad game and you pick players on form and how you play against the opposition, etc. You are living on that best 11 notion from years and years ago and not adapting to how modern day football works. Isn't EFL Trophy senior football. He is a penalty taker and he has 10 goals from penalties. Dack has only scored 5 from his 8 penalties. Hedges and Gallagher have never taken a penalty before at senior level. Plus JDT and his coaching staff will have seen how good each player is at penalties so maybe instead of complaining about Hirst taken it, why don't we trust JDT and Hirst that we will come back even stronger this time.
  12. My Rovers team Kaminski Brittain Hyam S.Wharton Pickering Travis Morton Hedges Szmodics BBD Hirst
  13. JDT is still the man to get this club back to PL. He is trying to bring in his style and what he wants slowly. Fans and that every fan need to give him time and patience and stop expecting instant success or result. The way people are going on you would think we were bottom of the league and had no point. We are 6th after 12 games which is above where I thought we would be after 12 games. I will say this again we are 6th in the league and some people are saying sack him and I find those comments totally embarrassing and very sad to read. I also wonder why you aren't willing to give him more time and patience to bring in his style, coaching method, players getting used to it. It is work in progress at Rovers.
  14. JDT will stay be here next season, I am very sure of this. Please need to stop overreacting here
  15. we spent more but what you need to give our head coach time and patience which many of this board don't want to allow this happen. We have a plan and we need to get behind this plan, that's all of us. exactly Josh, that how it works at any football club. The head coach decides before the game. That is how modern day football works
  16. Yes, I would. I think there is a player in him, and I won't write him off like many people on this board and you don't come out with some of the embarrassing comments I've seen tonight on here cos he missed a penalty. Dack miss one last season well before my time. I wasn't even born then
  17. Blimey, I think alot of you should be ashamed of your comments tonight towards. A lot of unwarranted and unnecessary comments. You are acting like a bunch of kids with your comments. Hirst is a penalty taker where Dack and Gallagher aren't The same Dack who missed the penalty last season. Seems quite a lot of you have forgotten that wow!!! one of the most embarrassing comments I've ever seen on here. Sacking a head coach after 12 games whilst you are 6th in league. Thankfully Rovers owners, Waggott and Broughton won't be sacking him any time soon. We are higher in the league then I thought we would be at this stage. It's a project and people seem too massive overreacting again after a loss
  18. I am gutted we missed that Penalty. Wish Sky hadn't shown that Keeper penalty stat before the penalty. Feel for Hirst tonight. The overall performance wasn't good enough. BBD, Dolan and Hedges all off form tonight. Buckley was awful. I still feel we aren't using Callum Brittain enough in the attacking third. Anyway, we moved on and let's go and beat Rotherham on Saturday now. I would stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation, but I would drop Ayala, Dolan and Buckley for Scott Wharton, Hirst and Morton.
  19. I'm watching the game thanks. 😉
  20. Not interested in last season. We moved on. Manager changes? What we talking changing playing style or head coach?
  21. Blimey reading this messageboard you have thought we were losing 4 or 5 nil. Guess what we aren't. It's nil and nil. We haven't battered in this game. The biggest problem for us is us giving the ball away, lack of tempo and movement
  22. It's wasn't false position last season. We deserved to be second when we was. But that's last season and we moved on from this. We are 6th cos that were results say we deserve to be
  23. Yet that way has us 6th in the league tho.
