  1. Only 29 years old and someone that fits the centre of back 3 that Everton play under Lampard Why wouldnt we be interest in Van Hecke? Solid defender and ball playing centre back which would JDT style. Given he watched alot of last season games he would have seen how good he was for us.
  2. Haaland's movement is very good and its just starting to click between him and other Man City players. Before the Community shield I had seen very little of him at Dortmund but his goal scoring record is very impressive for sure
  3. good signing that for Everton and will suit the back 3 they play there.
  4. Football is a business at the end of the day. Time you accept this. You can disagree on whether club owners should be setting philosophy or style of play but more and more clubs are employing sporting director and he will set out how the football side the club will be run with a plan for short term, medium term and long term. We moved to this Director of Football and head coach structure and so far so good. Jon Dahl Tomasson fitted the type of head coach we wanted and he was appointed
  5. Its their choice since they owned the club. First Its was Cooper who wanted to go for several different reasons not just about player style, but disagreements on signings, lack of funding for signings he wanted in January. Well each fan will have their own decision whether they like their club playing style or not. Each to the own and something I won't condemn fans for. Most clubs have a certain criteria or philosophy that they will follow and choose the right head coach or manager who will best fit the club project. We did this when we appoint Jan Dahl Tomasson.
  6. 489 Rovers twitter account said yesterday
  7. surely you pick the best player and back him to do his job
  8. he is there for the season long loan so its appears he will play most games
  9. Vale did ok again. Was decent enough against QPR. Interesting role for Dack. Not something I would do but we have to agree to disagree there Every head coach/manager of each club has a philosophy that they employ. Swansea want to play that way so will only employ a head coach who play that way which is fair enough. Interesting opinion. Have to say I disagree that he is already equal to Van Hecke. I think Van Hecke is quite away ahead of Ash Phillips right now. In the future, maybe not. ask Russell Martin 🤔
  10. I can understand what you are saying Joey but we will have to agree to disagree there. I don't think he is the type of striker that suits how JDT wants to play. A pressing forward would be better suit to JDT style of play if we lost BBD
  11. Potter has got his tactics spot on against them. Utd have had no answer. Never seen the Old Trafford crowd so quiet as today after those 2 goals. Ten Hag has just learned how big that job is in turning around the club and they need signings before the window otherwise they won't get top 6 To be fair Ronaldo is the one who has alienating the club and he didn't much of part in pre season and wants out. I would get rid as soon as possible. Until he signed last summer they were improving under Solskjaer. He never wanted him back imo
  12. Dack isn't a striker tho and Vale is a striker and that what the role was. Dack is number 10 and if we don't play a ten then he shouldn't be in the team. Swansea ownership and board wanted this philosophy like they did under Martinez and Rodgers, Cooper and the Swansea Ownership and hierarchy had a massive falling out over him and the signings Cooper wanted that they wouldn't fund. Can you explain why you would do that please?
  13. Is Egan-Reilly a centre back too signed from Man City? would Taylor start ahead of the current left back?
  14. They have 4 centre backs and Would bring in fifth one so Van Hecke is probably 6th choice shortly. Plus 12 months left on his contract
  15. I agree with all that. Its something that Swansea and why they brought Russell Martin in cos that the football they want to play. Its come down to smart recruitment and finding the right players that fit that Philosophy for them. Good Luck to them anyway Yes JDT has grasped that very quickly and he has game plan which helps and willing to adapt the plan to the opposition defensive whilst we still try to play the way he wants us attacking wise. We scored 3 very good goals and smart goals. Hedges showing awareness and understand he could score to pass to Szmodics. Great pass by Hedges in behind Wood for BBD to take down and run onto the goal to finish and Dolan again not being greedy but being aware to pass to Captain Travis to score
  16. You need a striker deffo. Haven't you already got 4 to 5 centre back already?
  17. Looks like 5th choice there, Rovers should be in talks with Brighton and maybe we make an approach to sign him but got to wait until after this game before we can proceed with it. Hopefully Gregg Broughton is meeting Brighton Technical director David Weir about a deal after this game.
  18. Russell Martin wants to play like Man City and be the Pep Guardiola of the championship which is fine with me but you got to deliver results and have a end product. I've seen a few people/pundits suggest they could be top 6 this season. I think they are way off that.
  19. hopefully so. If we can beat WBA on Sunday then I think we could see another 1k to 1.5k extra season ticket holders on
  20. Like others have I not sure where and which PL teams will pay the money we want for BBD. The only club I can see coming in for him is Sevilla. Whether they pay the money for him I don't know. Many PL teams who want strikers are looking to Ligue 1 or Bundesliga for strikers instead of taking risks of signing Championship strikers. I think Rovers should try to get him to sign a new 3 year contract with a release clause of around 12 to 15 million and if we get PL the release clause is cancel and we can extend his contract by 12 months.
  21. Some excellent football yesterday on show. Some very good goals and incidents in the EPL. Leeds look good yesterday as did Spurs. Feel that Southampton will go down this season unless they improve their squad up front and defensive and also Hassenhuttl has got to set them up better tactical and make the defence much better and more organised
  22. I wouldn't have brought him on cos he didn't how we wanted to see the game out. I think you made an excellent point there Swansea wanted to go back to the possession style of football after Cooper and that was one of the problem between the ownership/broad and Cooper. Russell Martin believe in his possession football but they look quality striker who will finish it of at the end of all. Piroe isn't playing as the number 9 now that Obafemi is there who I don't rate and pleased we didn't sign him
  23. Yes he is playing in the middle of the back 3 which I surprise with. I thought Paddy McNair would play there with Lenihan right centre back and Fry on the left. Not happened yet, But also surprised how small their squad is. Lacking depth in centre back, centre midfield and up front
  24. very surprised Scott Twine is starting in that team. Sorry I wasn't clear, You should you might sign around 3 more players, I was asking what positions those potential new signings could be? Look like you are signing Liverpool centre back/right back Sepp Van Der Berg on loan, how many centre backs do you want?
  25. Watched the BBC interview I posted
