Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
chaddyrovers replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
the players confidence is down and when we conceded our heads go down most of the time Can you explained this point and who would have you like us to go for? Eustace's last 10 games, conceding 14 goals and only 1 clean sheet. we won 2, drew 2 and lost 6 -

I think I said him and Wagner were the sort of appointment I expected us to make cos an European head coach would be more happy with our management structure(Gestede and Owen) and lets the recruitment department do their job I think its been a very poor start in terms of points, yesterday and Norwich game, they were certain aspect I could see what we wanted to do. Derby game was awful and the players performance in the first 10 minutes and second half cost us massively. We don't created enough chances or put the ball into the box enough for me. -

JDT and Eustace kept playing them most of the time. You seem to think that if Eustace had loads of money to spend he would play but nothing he done shows ths if he was shit would he be so highly rated by his previous club Arsenal and his current club Brighton? You didn't rate Ayari and now he is playing PL football for Brighton Also you have overlook why he hasn't be a success like his first loan in pro football and struggling. Gestede isn't in charge of recruitment but that our scouting department job. He overseas it Have Gueye with 8 goals and Ohashi with 7 goals really be crap signings? Did you think Ohashi could play a full championship season after playing 7 months of the season n Japan and Gueye took time to settle and understand the league but since he got his first league goal he has got better and better. not what I have said at all RF99, yet again you have clearly not read properly or just read what you want. The head coach says he need a new keeper signing and wants one that command the area, communicate and good reflexes. Then the scouts finds the players to present the head coach a shortlist of 3-5 players and he picks one he wants, The head of football operations is in the room during the meeting. Then we try to sign the player the head coach wants. How can the head coach scout players or find players overseas? I asked you a number of questions about this subject in previous days which you ignored. I understand you don't want this system in place but this system is the right one for football club to have. -

I have asked you some questions in the past 2 days but you completely ignored them but then expect me to answer your questions, do you not find that abit hypocritical from yourself? I will answer cos otherwise I am. I have posted my points in each game on the players and Ismael. The game plan was get the ball out wide to Dennis/Ribeiro and Dolan/JRC. Yes we tried to keep the ball more and look to more patient in the build up instead of rushing a pass. Ismael is trying to bring in new things and his own ideas whilst to keep the good things we do. didn't we score a header goal from a cross or didn't you see that? 🙄 We can't keep a clean sheet and this has been problem for more than Ismael time here. Has soon we conceded the player's confidence takes a hit and you can see that at Derby, Stoke and yesterday using yesterday a blue print and how we played. They trying to get the ball wide and especially to Dennis who has pace I wouldn't be playing JRC at right back again after his poor defending performance yesterday plus second half he kept drifting inside. Brittain is a much better and balance right back More questions than doubts. I hoping that Ismael bring more of his ideas into the team tactics and formation, cos the 17 games we won 4 games, so why need to adapt and play slightly different in situation. For one, what was the plan tactical when he brought Cantwell and Woodrow on? why didn't he take Tronstad for Buckley instead which is the change I would make? 8 games to go and other teams tough games ahead. as we witness this week if we had managed 4 to 7 points this week we would be next or in the playoffs place. We have to win the next games. We have 2 weeks now to get on the training pitch and sort this out. -

I don't care what that shower of shit thinks. Its unfair cos both clubs have done well under owners invested in their club but currently playing some really good attacking football. who were you really expecting to be honest Rev? Did it start that great under Eustace tho? 1 win in 10 games with 6 draws and 3 lost. Yes it hasn't been great but when you get bullied Derby forwards and a keeper who is piss poor and players not defending properly. -

True but isn't getting worse. No way should he be letting either goal in. Its very simple we need a new number 1 in this summer. -

bloody awful for both goals yesterday and tbh should have saved both. His positional is becoming a problem. I would be looking at bringing in Bobby Mimms as senior GK coach. Did a very good job when here previously and worked wonders on Robinson's confidence. Also we need a new number 1 in. Number 1 priority for me this summer. -

It appears that all 4 Rovers management were part of the interview stage and making this appointment. Ismael isn't just 3-4-3 formation head coach. At Besiktas and Watford, he played 4-2-3-1 formation. great points. its 4 wins in 17 games since Boxing Day. Eustace 2 wins in 10, Lowe 2 wins in 3 and Ismael 0 wins in 4. Did the players looked confused yesterday in the first half. Our biggest problem is leaking goals and not keeping clean sheets. who gives a monkeys what that lot thinks to be honest? -

Still bitterly disappointed by yesterday result and to be honest all 3 results. We should have at least got 6 points and if we had we would top 6. I felt we witness more of the style of play Ismael wants to play with Pace and tricky wide and 2 up front. Don't see Cantwell as part of his squad next season. He hasn't lived up to what people expectations were. Still didn't creative enough second half and after we conceded the second. It was poor defending by JRC(never a right back in a million years, should have kept Duru) and ACD(never been keen full stop). Pears should stop both goals tbh. Meite's header is centre left of the goal from behind the goal and Pears gets nowhere near it. Some on twitter said it he said and some say he said nothing. I'm nowhere near it at Ewood Park personally but I seen comments on x from different people Read on x that a fan had a go at Travis so he had a go back. Never been overly impressed by him and I think apart from that Luton game, he has been poor overall. His first loan out and first taste of proper football -

Couldn't agree more. All it will lead to is cutting the wage budget or operational costs or shutting the academy. -

Shown much more than ACD ever do but you thought he was the answer to all attacking problems cos he had pace but that is wrong. He has shown nothing apart from the Luton first half. It's his first loan and first taste of Proper football, so can't expect too much from him. -

Sorry for the delay reply, I wasn't in the mood post match yesterday. my apologies TBH, Gestede should have step in and said I am the head of football operations and We are doing this way John. Yes Pasha or Waggott should have step in and sort this mess out. I know I would have done if I was the owner. I don't see it has gained influence but him having a say in players we should targets and him providing his own targets which he wanted. I think by the summer he wanted more control in transfers and to have a major say. I think his move to Derby has provided him with that and I wouldn't be surprise to see go after Dembele and Sanderson in the summer. I know Paul well and he wouldn't have mentioned unless it was true. I can't see Unleaded posting this unless true and it suggested its been a problem for the last 8 months of Eustace's term so why didn't our CEO or COO step in and say that we are doing this and that instead of this issue carrying on as long as it did. -

fucking awful result. simple not good enough losing to that Cardiff side. Embarrassing result. zero points from these last 3 games is simple not good enough. Appalling keeping from Pears for the first goal but we don't defend it well enough. Second goal not good enough. Good header by Ohashi and we look at threat in the first half, Dolan's offside goal, Tronstad shot. Second half, didn't creative enough for me, Dennis going off injured didn't help but ACD was awful. Dolan should have cross earlier to Dennis but it too late to cross. After going to 2-1 down, didn't created a proper chance and the penalty decision, I would like to see back but the lack of communication to the fans is appalling. We don't have a clue what was going on. I think Gueye actually hand balled it but would like to see back. JRC isn't a right back in a million years, not food enough defensively. Dolan my man of the match(7.5), Carter(7), Ohashi(7) and Travis(7). Gueye(6). Tronstad(6), Dennis(7), JRC(4), Hyam(4), Riberio(4), Pears(2). Subs:- ACD (3), Woodrow (3) and Cantwell (3) The subs had zero impact today, I don't know what the tactical plan was when Woodrow and Cantwell came on. I have no idea. Dennis out for weeks injured and Brittain is injured for 4 weeks. I wouldn't start JRC at right back. Beck, Batth, Pickering and Hedges should be back for Pompey away. Very unhappy and pissed off tonight. if we had won the last 2 games, we would be in the playoffs. This isn't acceptable now. We need to win the next game. No excuses. At least England winning at Rugby Union has cheer me slight. Off to watch the rest of six nations rugby and the Golf for the rest of the night. It can't get any worse -
Really good performance from I have watched after Rovers. Only second half, but good to watch. Lets hope for a Russell or Norris win at grand prix in Australia,

Do any of why, tho? But we can speculate, tho. Eustace wanted championship experience when others wanted to look at the European/world market for players. Cheaper wages and fees but similar quality. Fitting our budget better Disagreements over players targets cos someone like A but others didn't. That's doesn't help -
Recruitment Team / Scouting
chaddyrovers replied to unleaded's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yes I do believe cos that's how the system should work. Eustace says for example he wants a target man striker then Scouting people find players present the transfer committee with list of players. Of course Eustace was on that transfer committee. He needs to have a say. But from what we been reported Eustace was suggesting his own players and targets. That's when problems started. The head coach needs to have a say and pick the one from the shortlist. It's seem Eustace wanted Championship experience signings in both window. He got some but some we didn't sign. I heard Jamie Carragher say not long ago that Klopp didn't want to sign Salah. He want Brandt but his recruitment staff said Salah was the one and Klopp trusted his staff here. I think you would say that was great decision by Klopp. Being a head coach, you got to trust the director of football and your recruitment staff otherwise it won't work -

Yes it was 2 wins in 10 under Eustace, Lowe 2 wins in 3 games and Ismael 0 wins in 3. It's not like we were loads of games before Ismael. We need to creating more chances than we do. -

I dont know what Eustace was promised when he took the job. I believe £5m spend promised given who has said that. The summer transfers were done by committee of Gestede, Park, Owen and Eustace. They all had to agree and compromise.plus trust each other. Gestede said in the fans forum, the recruitment team scouts the players and Eustace picks a shortlist of 3-5 players. It's seems from reports Eustace had his own targets and club had their targets. -

chaddyrovers replied to unleaded's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
From what read and listen(Elliott Jackson and Alan Nixon) about our recruitment in the summer, we had transfer committee to decide who to sign. Eustace wanted Dembele, others didn't. So I agree we had disagreement over targets. It's seems this carried on in January from what we all read from different sources. Eustace had his list of targets and Gestede/Owen had their list of targets. -

So @roversfan99 here are a few questions for yourself 1. Do you accept that Eustace was behind Sanderson signing and you wanted Eustace wanted to sign his targets, so he did, so now you disagree with that? 2. I remember that during the transfer window we were linked with several players like Wallace, Bamford, McBurnie and Schlupp, who you didn't want and calling Wallace has been at the aged of 30 years old? so do you stand by your opinion that Eustace should sign his own targets and not the players the club have scouting and research into you didn't want Eustace's targets 3. Isn't it the job of our recruitment team to scout and find players that we want that position and the have the qualities we want like a pacey left winger? do you accept them? 4, do you accept that the head coach is there to manage the players at the club like coaching them, winning games and shouldn't be scouting players? -

If you want to dismiss Travis's comments and the fact he has said the players are responsible for the last 2 results cos it doesn't fit with your opinion and your narrative. Norwich are well drilled team and clear identity of play, plus their 2 wide players played as 2 number 2 ten's. Passive? We weren't gong to start flying in with tackles were we? the team selection wasn't the problem mid week but without Hyam's pass and our lack of attacking intent and creatively very little given we had Cantwell on the pitch so should be our playmaker. The questions were simple and straight forward to answer. Instead of clogging this thread of it I will used the appropriate thread -

You seem to think Eustace would play very different if we had loads of money to spend but would he? You don't know that do you? Eustace always wanted Dolan in his team and very rarely dropped it, I wonder why RF99? Why isn't JRC a wide man and what do you call a wide man? Karbgo got injured in his 3rd start for Rovers actually.
