  1. Brereton interview with Lancs Telegraph
  2. Pike and Burns signed new contracts. Which is good news
  3. Well if that's the case why move there? What type of keeper is Sanchez? Has @Tyrone Shoelaces not mention him before? Would Mowbray look to loan another 1st choice keeper next season? Or will he look at permanent signing as number 1 and 2 whether it free or low cash buy? Possible loan options from Premier League clubs like Muric from Man City, Gunn from Southampton. Or out of contract keepers like Karl Darlow who at Newcastle currently or Mark Gillespie from Motherwell. Or other choices from foriegn clubs. Or other options who are number 2 at Premier league clubs like John Ruddy at Wolves or Simon Moore at Sheffield United or Jed Steer at Villa Or keeper with Championship experience like Marcus Bettinelli from Fulham. Or WBA number 2 Jonathan Bond(suggestion by an article online I read today) Plenty of different options and scenarios for Mowbray and his recruitment team to consider depending on budgets set by the owners.
  4. Yes from media reports we had an interest in him but we need to wait to see what League we are in before signing any players
  5. Rovers retain list https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/june/rovers-confirm-retain-list/ Goalkeeper Jordan Eastham has signed a contract through to June 2022, whilst striker Sam Burns, defender Dan Pike and midfielders Jalil Saadi and Sam Durrant have all put pen-to-paper on one-year pro deals.
  6. I know exactly how the playoffs thanks. No point committing to any signings at all right now until we know which league we are in. Other clubs in the league arent either. Rovers will be transfer plans for different leagues and budgets. So wait and see till we know exactly. On McLaughlin, does he want to number 2 at his age even if that Premier League? Would he want to be in that situation? I meant start of the season looks like starting in the 1st week or Second week in October
  7. So 3 questions in 14 days isnt bombarding him is it? Yes or no will do
  8. Suggest you look careful again Matty cos I HAVENT bombarding Nicko at all? asking 3 questions in 2 weeks isn't bombarding is it? checking up again Matty?
  9. Woodgate has made a number of mistakes during his time like having an experience number 2 and good scouting and recruitment staff around him. He hasn't had this. Thats down to him and Gibson. I have said that Woodgate cant complained about being sacked haven't I. Coyle cant complained about his time at Rovers or his budget here. I have zero sympathy for him.
  10. @roversfan99, how was championing us to sign McLaughlin when I didn't so please read carefully. I posted we were linked with him from several different reporters. I asked the board if anyone seen him which if I am correct Tyrone said he had. I mentioned us signing him a couple of years when he played for Burton in the championship. Since then I haven't seen much of him. Also when did we make another play for Bauer after trying to sign 2 years ago? Also why is promotion is unlikely when we are 1 point of playoffs and with 8 games to go and in the first game after the lockdown the performance was very good? Also bluebruce and Roversfan99, I wouldn't be making any signings right now until we know which league we are in. Bluebruce, I think its flawed to make any signings right now even if they are available right now to sign for us. We shouldn't committing to anyone at this stage. If it means we miss then fine, From reading a report yesterday it would appear that the transfer window will remain open to the end of October, So you are looking at season starting in my opinion at the start of the season
  11. I am fully aware of the economy and businesses Sparks and what going on financial. It's far from business outside football but clubs are spending money at PL level. Who next what Rovers transfers will be like. I expect frees and loans with one or 2 key players sold unless FFP rules are relax as UEFA have done. Plus What will Venkys do.
  12. When is the new season starting? Why sign anyone before we knew which league we are in?
  13. Well we cant right now anyway as season not finish and transfer window not open in England
  14. Mowbray and his recruitment staff will have target lists for both scenarios.
  15. 13 signings is hardly limited resources IMO. Warnock was happy to take the job in those circumstances. Other managers would have done. So can we agree to disagree cant we ain't going to agree arent we?
  16. India is in the middle of Coronavirus pandemic so not likely Mowbray or Waggott would be able travel tbh..is it safe either?
  17. And you defending him. He had a budget that he was happy with to come here so he cant complained or you. He signed mostly rubbish players. Would Warnock or Adkins have bought better? I would say so. 13 signings that summer. 5 good or decent signings rest not good enough or injury prone.
  18. Tony Mowbray transfer plans and how it will help Blackburn Rovers evolve https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/tony-mowbray-transfer-plans-how-18474116 Changes in the scouting department has seen Bruno Reis inherit a new role as Head of European Scouting, with Rovers extending their scope into regions of Eastern and Southern Europe. "If I don't know how much money I'm spending I can't be throwing it at people. Who's to say there's not going to be salary caps brought in, or the budget isn't going to be cut considerably. "I can't offer people anything while we don't have budgets and we don't know how much you have to spend because that's how you have to work."
  19. Seen much worst than Walton in my Time as Rovers fan. Fettis, Alan Miller, Enckelman, Steele(went worst after his 1st season here)
  20. Warnock was more than happy with that budget and know we had to sell 2 players. But he had line up 2 signings in Bamba and Hoilett as he admitted in articles before. He signed 13 players with this so called not a good budgets. He signed some shocking players. His choices. He tried to sign Stuart Armstrong from Celtic for 1 million. That bid was rejected.
  21. Very judgemental there Stuart. Yes we need 2 keepers this summer whatever division but you cant sign anyone now cos we dont know which league we in. We have 2 targets last summer to replace Raya but neither happened due to different circumstances. Walton has improved over the season and hasnt been any worse than Raya was for us.
  22. plenty of my post was relevant. Warnock was coming to Rovers to become manager to work with the same budget as Coyle, so making excuses for his poor recruitment. Warnock was happy with the budget. Do you not remember that conversation me, yourself and another person had on twitter of how Coyle was appointed and his budget. Graham, Mulgrew, Gallagher, Feeney and Stokes wages weren't cheap were they? Did Coyle need to make 13 signings and waste money on 3 loan signings that never had any sought of impact.
  23. I agree with Darrenbot that we need to wait before committing to any signings for next season as we don't know if we get promote or not. Now this wont stop our recruitment team and staff scouting, researching and formulating different transfer plans and targets for next season. You would hope that Mowbray has decide on the positions we need new signings in after the seasons finish.
  24. Warnock was happy to come and work in those circumstances and from what we know he was set to be appoint as manager at Rovers. But some how Coyle got the job, Now I remember a conversation on twitter me, you and someone else who I wont posted his name where he told you about how Coyle was appointed and the budget he had. Have you forget that? also did you not see the article that the Football league paper did on how Coyle got the job from under Warnock? Plus didn't Coyle try to sign Stuart Armstrong in the summer who would have been a good signing for us if he had got him. So Coyle knew the situation before he joined so I dont have much sympathy for him Smith also worked under a similar model at Brentford where they have Philip Giles as Director of football
  25. Gibson makes the final decision to appointed Woodgate at the time and it was known in football that he would be appointed before the season finished. No excuses for Woodgate as he know how the club wanted to move forward by cutting the wage bill and bringing through more youth players. on your point about Woodgate not being control of signings. It was something that was mention on the podcast of not the top 20 which focus on EFL today where it mentions that Woodgate has said publicly he wasn't sole responsible for the signings bujt early in signings he said he was. I will look for the Woodgate's quotes and posted them if I can find them. I think Woodgate lack a experience recruitment people next to him helping him. on the Coyle point I have replied on roversfan99 on this issue so I wont go over it again
