  1. Yes it would be great to sign quality championship striker but if we can't agree a deal or the higher price is too high then rightly we look for similar quality in the overseas market but lower wages. I am more concerned about not signing a striker on all or signing a young PL player on loan as our striker signing instead of going for someone who has played first team football more and has a record of goals. on Kargbo, I have no idea on his quality. Signing that striker from St. Johnstone as main striker signing s what I slammed and I stand by that. Also just to correct you here that my comments on having assets on the balance sheet did not come from Elliott Jackson but from my own view on focusing on the short term whilst having one eye on the future. I will give my view on the window at the end of the window and who we signed. Apart from that one game, he hasn't impressed me so much
  2. We know that Gestede as head of football operations so of course he would be leading the search and working with Adam Owen to bring in players even if we had a chief Scout(who wouldn't be involved transfer negotiations) Eustace wants championship experience signings but unless we spent the players on getting them and pay higher wages for players like Wallace, Bamford and Schlupp, we can't pay those wages on our budget. So we have be smarter and clever in our transfers and still bring in experience championship like we did with Hyam or Brittain or Batth or Weimann but also look for lower wage quality players like Ohashi. Eustace has been involve in the final choice of who we sign but also he is having to compromise on just looking at championship players and look further field and into the European leagues.
  3. I expected Eustace to start Cantwell and us to moved back to 4-2-3-1 formation.
  4. I mentioned this player on Sunday night has a possible option for us. They were linked with a Slovakian striker David Strelec from Slovan Bratislava at £6-8m fee Lets we can announce and parade him before tomorrow game.
  5. wrong again Ian, the same type of signing we did with Gueye or Ohashi or Cantwell we have already signed 2 players whilst we will sign at least a couple more.
  6. Should be going for that Oxford Tyler Goodham from Oxford
  7. It's was stupid post by himself. Positive line? Has something happened today? A signing we are all unaware off?.
  8. My disappearance? Please explained this point? Two sides of the coin? Been on the beer again
  9. Isn't it 18 month talks? Agree to disagree here Ok thanks. All 4 need to be long term contract He played well against us.
  10. Look at my comment "best players". Dolan is already in talks. Hedges is squad player
  11. We don't know what going on behind the scenes but we know we haven't renew players contracts this season or even offered Eustace a new contract. We deffo should have offered Eustace a new contract plus to our best players who should be on long term contract like Brittain, Hyam, Carter, Travis, Tronstad, Pickering, Pears. I think his movement, pace, ability to hold the ball up plus goals is what we lack. I'm thinking him plus a good attacking left sided player. Thanks for the reply
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if Eustace left in the summer if we aren't going to back in the summer.. If we sign quality striker then I think we get playoff place. Eustace has done a great job, his connection with the players and fans is great. We just be doing renewal of contracts regularly. Not good enough Rovers. Simple as But you also need to reinvest the money you receive for player sales but also to keep improving your squad
  13. Obviously but can he at championship level? BTA is the one for me we should be going for. Can Rudy deliver a quality striker and wide left attacking player before the deadline?
  14. Very true JH. We haven't reinvested in the squad..even just the Szmodics's money where you could have used that money to sign 3 or 4 quality signings that would be assets now but also for the future.. Plus we haven't renew the contracts yet of Hyam, Tronstad, Travis, Brittain, Pickering, Pears and what the hell is going on with them and why haven't they been sorted it? Question for the fan forum to asked at the next meeting @K-Hod @only2garners please
  15. Is he what we need up front or would Thomas-Asante be a better option?. What are Kone's qualities?
  16. Should have sign him or Liam Millar. Both would have added quality for low cost We looked at him and I remember Nicko doing an article on him. We should spent more money in the summer If true, get on with it Rudy. 6 days to go. Luton have the PL parachute money to spend.
  17. We have to agree to disagree on your main point whilst I respect your post above and opinion, I know we want quality signings in this winger. The window is hotting up and players are moving. Not seen any links to players in for us. Rudy and Eustace should know their budget for the window and Rudy should be allow to authorise signings within that budget. If Luton are buying another striker are one of their strikers available to sign. I would take Morris in a heartbeat and Woodrow would be good. I will admitted that I thought we would have sign one attacking player by now. We seem to be messing around over small money difference for Kargbo. So do Rovers hierarchy(above Gestede and Eustace level) really want a playoff place or not? Massive doubts there for me. I would like to one signing at least by Thursday please Rovers. I'm starting to wonder if we should have signed him instead of Cantwell, would we be better off? Massive debate point and question
  18. I judge a window at the end of it. I look at Wigan Sam Tickle
  19. Yes I know that but some clubs have made no signings so far. 3 transfers already make half of the money spent in Cannon for £10m, Jones for £5m and Whittaker for £6m. We got 7 days to make a quality striker signing, left sided attacking player and left back before the deadline day. I understand and agreed that we should one attacking player signing by now but why we haven't we done know the full reasons
  20. I have no idea No excuses but exactly why the transfer window in January is rubbish for most of it. For the first 2 weeks not much happens then middle of the months things start moving eventually
  21. If we had signed Thomas-Asante when we put a bid for him then that would quality signing for me. That reported was around middle of the month. January window is always slow..every year the same. You can all the time before the window to identify targets but unless it a player a club wanted rid or you can afford to.pay the asking price(which tbf we should be able to do so with Szmodics money) then you will make quality signings towards the end of the window. Was he even a target to be fair? He might have been our target on here but was he on Rovers transfer shortlist? So maybe the owner should have stuck with Liam Rosenior instead? and they reinvest money they recieved into good players like Liam Millar
  22. the EFL says the game live on TV Homepage - The English Football League
  23. it would be great to strengthen but in the January window, early quality signings don't happen until you are willing to splash the cash or signing out of favour players at club like we did with Dion Sanderson for example or Boro selling Jones and replacing him with Whittaker who knows but do expect any club to sign 3 players before the Burnley game is very unrealistic. The January transfer window is slow as ever and you will see it pick up now in the last week just like always. Like for example if we wanted Bamford from Leeds then Leeds rightly wouldn't release him until they had a replacement in.
