  1. Was about to post the same. Surely only going to be a manager out of work. Would like Steve Cooper, but after the Lewis O’Brien saga he was quite critical of us. Chris Hughton? Got Brighton promoted. Edit: Sacked twice since then from Forest & Ghana, so maybe not!
  2. From league positions alone, the PL equivalent would be Eddie Howe leaving Newcastle to take the Leicester job. I know there are huge factors that make that a poor comparison, but looking at the league tables, that’s what it is (6th v 3rd bottom) and to the outside world, questions will be asked, and honest answers will be demanded. You can argue over who is the bigger club etc, but you cannot sensibly justify why you would leave a club you have got into the playoffs, to take over a club in the relegation zone, not without some sort of transparency. Surely no one is going to ‘buy’ the closer to home reason, and as someone else mentioned, it’s a smokescreen, one you’ll have to be pretty gullible to swallow. We’ll be the laughing stock for a few weeks, but what this will do is highlight to the football world how badly run this club is. Difference with this & JDT was the latter went off to Sweden. JE is going to another English club in the same league. This one won’t get swept under the carpet so easily.
  3. Be gutted to see Eustace go, but if he does, no hard feelings from me and I wish him well. He hasn’t been backed so why should he jeopardise his managerial career with a club that doesn’t match his ambition. His usual positive demeanour had evaporated by the end of January, so he was clearly pissed off with the window. We’ll be scraping the barrel with our next appointment. The club is a sinking ship. Waggott doesn’t care and Venkys are not bothered at all. Who would want to come here? Rooney would probably turn us down! Eustace has far out performed the expectations of him. They didn’t back him in the window like they didn’t back JDT. Playoffs were never in the script. There is no ambition to go back up. There never will be. The club is being torn to shreds and in July, when a threadbare squad is all that remains, League One is inevitable.
  4. Genuinely shocked by some of the negative comments regarding Beck. Was up and down the pitch all game and for me looked our best player. Not saying he was 10/10, but 3/10 a bit unfair!
  5. Got to start making and taking the opportunities when we are on top. QPR subs changed the game for them and put them on top. So many individual poor performances from us. Cantwell was shocking when he came on. ACD not much better. Beck our best player tonight.
  6. 2-1 down and bringing on Forshaw 🤦🏼‍♂️ Inviting QPR to attack. We should be putting them under the cosh and forcing them to defend 🤷🏼‍♂️
  7. QPR 1 Rovers 2 Gonna put my faith in Big Mak to get both of our goals!
  8. 22:59 and Forest will pull the plug as revenge for 2023!
  9. Sky Sports News "Jayden Danns has arrived for his medical in the North East after Sunderland fought off interest from Blackburn (& Hull)" Fought off interest........ crikey 🤣
  10. Move to Swansea stalled apparently as his missus is pregnant and doesn't want to relocate. £400k loan fee has put us off going for him. How true this all is, I don't know, but being spouted on X this morning.
  11. Didn’t progress???? Must surely have an alternative lined up and weren’t pinning our hopes on Mohamed?
  12. Reading that Danns is off to Sunderland. Nantes keeping Mohamed. I’m sure there’s some injury prone striker sitting on the bench in league 2 we are lining up. With the injuries to Ohashi & Leonard we should have had a striker in and training today. How underwhelming this window has been given the names we’ve been linked with!
  13. They have, and surely a loan will only be beneficial to Liverpool if he is guaranteed game time. If he’s going to be sat on the bench at Hull, I’m sure Liverpool would just keep him. Must make us the better option.
  14. Imagine they'll be looking for who will contribute most towards his wages, so that'll rule us out.
  15. Another goal & assist already for Markandy tonight.
  16. The message back to Waggott should be, if the club aren’t prepared to spend, don’t expect the fans to either. Remember these January windows when you are renewing your season tickets and purchasing your next shirt.
  17. Gueye the only one playing with any intent tonight. I’ve been one of Cantwell’s biggest fans, but he’s pissing me off tonight. Half arsed work rate and every pass has to be fancy.
  18. Come on everyone, why so negative, still 45 minutes to play and plenty of quality on the bench……….😬 Oh to have an injury crisis in the bloody transfer window!
  19. Possibly, but what I will tell you that’s parallel with this time last season, is we aren’t bloody signing anyone and it’s infuriating Edit: Jan 20th 2024 we had 33pts Currently we have 42. We finished last season on 53
  20. Few posters on 'X' again this morning linking us with a loan move for Danns. Preston & Stoke linked too. Looks like this is coming from Liverpool's end too so maybe formal interest gone in? I'd be absolutely delighted to bring him here. Liverpool fans reluctant to see him go and really rate him.
  21. Pears Hyam Sanderson Batth Brittain Buckley Beck JRC Cantwell Wiemann Gueye Not a formation we have played, but I’d play two up top and hope that Wiemann can feed off Gueye. Not confident of a results, but Forshaw not a starter for me, Hedges I don’t rate and Dolan was poor against Cov last time. Portsmouth game aside, we don’t score many so would change a bit here.
  22. That time of year again where our rivals are dining on steak whilst we feed off scraps from the floor. The comment of O'Riorden having to go out on loan to free up wages hits home the state of this club. This lot don't give a damn about Blackburn Rovers, so don't get lost in actually thinking players like O'Brien will actually arrive this January. You were duped into thinking that in 2023 and 2024. Don't fall for it again. We are sat fifth in the second tier of English football, lacking a goalscorer and suffering many injuries, yet nothing is happening about bringing quality in. Just another chapter of complete betrayal to everything Jack Walker built and cared for so dearly and another kick in the teeth to us, the fans.
  23. I’ll throw the name Harvey Vale in again. Contract up in summer, but Chelsea have said he can go for nothing this window, but they want a sell on clause inserted into any deal. Versatile player who can play left back and anywhere across the midfield. Had a loan spell at Hull a few seasons back which was hampered by an injury and manager changes. Last season was at Bristol Rovers and they raved about him. Captained England U19’s when they won U19 euros in 2022. Can ping a good pass, works hard and knows how to finish. Plenty of championship clubs interested including Sunderland & Stoke and I’d rather take a punt on someone like him than another Adam Forshaw. Edit: Think his current wages might be a stumbling block as they are ‘Chelsea’ wages, but if he wants to kick start his career?
  24. Just infuriating to know Asgaard can potentially be bought for £2.5m (if that release clause is correct), yet we can't sanction spending that amount, despite the money generated from player sales in the last year. If he came here and did the job, the potential re-sale value could be huge, so I'd have thought that alone would interest the owners long term, plus his wage would be within our budget I'd assume. If you ever had to question the owners ambition for promotion then it's really being hammered home that they clearly have no interest in going up, because for the third season in a row, whilst lingering in the play-offs, they don't spend, yet clubs around us are pondering spending £13m on Cannon to help get the job done. For me, Eustace is the best manager we've had since Hughes and really got me buzzing for Blackburn Rovers again for the first time in a long time. It's still fairly early days for him really, but he's massively overachieved in a season every one was predicting us for relegation. The improvement he's overseen in players like Brittain, Hyam, Travis & Pears, who we've all written off in the past, has been sensational. Even if he didn't get us up this season, we should be building towards next season. Absolutely sick of these owners and their lack of ambition. I just don't understand why they don't sell up and let us have our club back.
