There was an interesting article in the paper about Sheffield United. United have banked two years of Premier League parachute payments and up to 38 million quid for Ramsdale Yet the manager was only allowed to recruit loan signings and free transfers in the last two windows Mowbray has been given a pretty free hand in the market and Venkys have hung on in there for ten years in spite of their mistakes. We are fourth, and I for one thank Mowbray and Venkys for that, as well as our young, hungry and motivated team. There have been false dawns before, but I will take that emotional risk. I have carried my heart on my sleeve for almost sixty years for Rovers. That’s Football.

I think the key to getting the lads signed up will be whether they regularly feature in their favoured position and feel valued. If they get bounced in and out of thevteam because of a young loanee that has to play because the big clubs say so, then they will look at other options. The best way to keep them all. Get promoted.

Maybe i am being too simplistic ( perfectly possible) but Gallagher is a big lad, who heads a ball. Put him in the middle. Dolan is a tricky little lad. Put him on the wing.
