  1. So no news on a manager then? Maybe we could conduct a poll on which manager we would like out of those rumored to be sitting in the cold seat, and see if our desires are matched by the outcome. Not sure how to set it up but I would go for Ferguson. Seems passionate, players respond to successful ex players and nobody would argue with him. Kind of Howard Kendall meets Neil Warnock. We need a kick up the arse and Broughton can sort the academy and transfers out starting with Van Hecke.
  2. I wonder if we will get to 333, the magical number of Graham Gooch’s innings before a manager is appointed.
  3. Any odds on Pardew? Especially if he has a good agent https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61665141
  4. The best time to do an interview is when the underperforming manager is still at the helm. 🤔
  5. Hmm 🤔 https://the72.co.uk/274585/duncan-ferguson-in-advanced-talks-to-become-blackburn-rovers-manager/
  6. I agree with the logic. As I mentioned before, Mowbray “did a Warburton” to flesh out the situation. Never a good move to make bosses lose face. In my view, if he had played a straight bat and waited for “the owners” to pot him, he might have garnered even more sympathy/respect. It’s a shame. He deserved a better send off for righting a sinking ship and bringing in players of value. Most managers make daft player selections in fans eyes. He was not an exception. His crime is that he is seen as a trifle dull. The truth is most high energy managers crash and burn after a while and cost the club a fortune. Our most successful manager was one of the quietest. I wish you well Tony.
  7. I understand the logic and we could with a bit of passion but I have become rather wary of people who appear to be good blokes, enthusiastic, and have an alternative hairstyle. 🤔
  8. To provide a bit of context. 44.000 fans watched two teams a division below us fight for the right to join us. There are some big clubs in the Third Division. Perhaps we should be thankful for small mercies.
  9. I have supported Rovers since 1963. If Keane got the job I would be shattered. A horrible manager who single handedly shafted Ipswich. No thank you.
  10. We are not alone with our financial concerns. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61317194
  11. I have sympathy with this sentiment. The problem is that stability can breed complacency and caution. Tony Mowbray took the long term view which was admirable, but what was needed was a full on, pedal to the metal short term strategy in January to boost our strike force and provide quality competition to get us over the line.
  12. If you want to know what happens to a team when they fire a trusted devoted “football man” look at Burnley. Change is as good as a rest. And we have been resting. 😳
  13. I think that Mowbray is “doing a Warburton” to flesh out the owners and highlight to all suitors that he is not tarnished goods. Unfortunately for Warburton and his spin masters, it is a case of be careful what you wish for. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61263745
  14. Hopefully he will want to boost his free transfer value with a belter of a game against his suitors.
  15. He was bought as a striker. It got complicated when Armstrong started scoring for fun and Diaz came good.
  16. I am surprised they are not playing with a passion, if only for themselves. They are in the shop window. I guess not getting injured before vacation, and a new club plus payday is the priority.
  17. 🕺🕺🕺⚽️⚽️⚽️ Stranger things happen at sea. 🚢
  18. I am warming to the concept of Dyche getting us promoted next year.
