  1. I’d love to ask the players whether the presence of away fans fires them up or intimidates them…& if it’s intimidate…get a decent sports psychologist in immediately.
  2. A bit I did for BRFCS with @Forza_Garibaldi https://www.forzagaribaldi.com/forest-away-blackburn-rovers-wednesday-9th-february-fan-guide/
  3. Home of World Cup winners (great quiz question…) 😉

  5. Rovers travel to Elland Road in August 1989. Look out for SuperAtko ghosting into the box & a Leeds midfield containing a veteran, a movie star & a young tyro...

  7. “When we see Premier League attendances in here…we’ll offer Premier League terms. I sometimes wonder whether this town wants a football fans website” a clearly disconsolate board member said earlier.
  8. The signings of Hedges, Markanday & Zeefuik seem to be being ignored…I know Markanday got injured but who could foresee that ? Giles in, Rothwell retained…that would be decent surely ?
  9. Always appreciate the hits…Luca Toni ? 😉
  10. We had a whole season with no gate income…
  11. Going back to the start of this thread is fascinating - maybe Rothwell will divide Bournemouth in the similar way….
  12. You would expect that this is exactly what they should be doing..
  13. Any ideas for fund-raising suggestions - please feel free to add to the thread…let’s see if we can come up with something as a collective…
  14. It’s about time someone called Johnson stepped up to the plate & performed in line with expectations…
  15. Anybody remember these ? FA Cup centenary in 1972 - I had loads of family/friends/neighbours all buying petrol at Esso garages 😆
  16. This is a commercial negotiation. Let’s hypothetically say that your company was about to sign a contract with another party & for whatever reason, you weren’t totally satisfied that they were going to fulfil their side of the bargain to the letter. Would you pay all the cash up front ? A bit like employing a builder - always negotiate a sizeable retention payment. Such a deal structure suggests that there were rights & obligations on both parties with built in termination events in the event of dissatisfaction. There is no evidence to suggest Recoverite have gone bust but equally, they aren’t immune from COVID; so if they felt they weren’t getting value for money then termination makes sense for them.
  17. This is the thin end of the wedge. The tactics vaping companies use are similar to the ones used by tobacco companies back in the day. https://tobaccotactics.org/wiki/e-cigarettes-marketing/ At the end of the day, we’ve lost a sponsor who promotes fitness and athleticism for this. I’d love for Recoverite to come out & give their side of the story.
  18. The point being that if you are a club that wants to postpone, whilst this guidance is operational it’s a get out of jail card. “We have 25 fit players but 15 of them have never played for the first team…so we’re stuffed…” type thing. However, Leeds put a 15 y/o on their bench last Sunday.
  19. For a COVID postponement apparently, kids only count if they’ve already made an appearance i.e. you can’t give a debut to a kid to make up a “COVID” XI. This means that clubs like Leeds who routinely give debuts to youngsters have a bigger “COVID” squad to choose from & would find it harder to request a postponement. In the current climate, this encourages clubs NOT to blood youngsters which is what many fans are saying they should be doing so they can fulfil fixtures. I also heard an interesting theory on The Football Ramble podcast which is that the PL don’t want matches televised without “star names” playing as it devalues their product.
  20. Agreed…this is very odd. The valuation of the club depends on its net assets and earnings stream. How would the two parties arrive at an agreeable figure based on conjecture ? Out of the Prem, income dries up, LBO interest has to be met & players either have to be sold or take wage cuts (parachute payments notwithstanding). A number of Burnley fans who have revelled in our mismanagement may soon look on with envy if they don’t sort it out…
