As I’ve said elsewhere on this thread (corroborated by others that have met him) he was perfectly affable and happy to discuss the event, what we’d done, how we thought fan engagement would benefit as a result & I would like to think that when he saw the attendance figure a lightbulb went off in his head… We shall see… One thing worth noting - every fan group that participated did so with volunteer labour using their accumulated passion, skills, knowledge & energy to devote their spare time to making it a success. I know that we at BRFCS had all hands to the pump to prepare and several ideas we had couldn’t be actioned as the lead times were too short. If the club chose to harness all of that & work WITH us…🤷‍♂️ I’m sure @Miller11 has already made that point to SW…

Crikey…it was a relatively brief chat in fairness. People who know me are well aware of what I see as the biggest single crisis facing Blackburn Rovers Football Club at the moment… …The kit design…specifically reversing the halves on the back 😆 More seriously, we were talking about the greater involvement of fans, how that leads to increased engagement, how everyone wins from the collaboration & how it might develop. As many who have met him will attest, he is disarming in person, very affable and actually enjoyable to talk to. I’d love to get him on the podcast & go full Paxman on him at some point…but yesterday was neither the time nor the place.😉

It’s that time again where we polish the crystal ball, look into the tea leaves and read our palms in an attempt to predict what is about to unfold. We are thinking of having a different product in a specific sales window…say t shirts first…then hoodies…perhaps fleeces…etc etc At the moment fulfilment of the orders is the challenge…it takes a lot of time to pack, address, post etc so having just one product at a time helps logistics 👍🏻

We’re going to sell some merch based on the positive feedback received 👍

I’d like to blow our own trumpet here for a second…it’s immodest but I just want to say a massive thank you to my fellow BRFCS/4000 Holes volunteers, contributors to the podcast & fanzine & finally, everyone who donated to ensure a coachload of kids had a great day out. A number of members came up to us to say hello & every one of them was incredibly generous with their praise for what we had done. That means a lot &makes the effort worthwhile. I think we impressed a lot of folks with our attention to detail today. I’ll ask my wife to draw the raffle later tonight & list the winning numbers tomorrow. I’m into an agreeable bottle of Malbec right now…apologies if my choice upsets folks on here 😉
