Who will be the next Rovers prospect to make a ‘big’ move?
Tom replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Totally fair point I was just thinking through who we have to build a team around and who we may struggle to retain over time Having said that we can be as big time as we want if we ain’t in the Premier League there’s an obvious step players want to make -
Self explanatory really, not a particularly joyful subject but it’s a matter of fact that real talent want to play at the top. Out of the current lot who do you think will be the next to get a big money move? For me it’s Travis, think he has the talent and the mentality to match, can see him ending up at Everton or similar. Arguments could be made for Dack but I think his injury may have cost him the chance in January, Lenihan has the tools to succeed and Nyambe is a beast in terms of physical attributes. Hope Rovers are protected here as they could all attract big fees in the right circumstances

Players that underachieved or what could have been

I remember around the horrible Kean days a couple of young lads had been promoted to the senior squad and a highly thought of. One was Zac Aley; was on the bench at old Trafford, got released and went onto semi pro level I think. The other met a similar fate, Robbie Cotton, had bags of talent but apparently a Terrible attitude. Jemal Johnson was an earlier one I had high hopes for and there was a striker a little before who seemed to be banging them in for years in the reserves but never made the cut Amazing how many young lads get to the cusp of breaking through and it goes to their heads and all goes to pot -
Seems that the top 6 in the prem are battling to finish the season whilst the bottom half want to cancel it No doubt the big boys will get their way
-
I predict we’ll see a test run in June, behind closed door friendly filmed for TV with all the same sort of logistics before we see the start of the season
-
If it means next season is more likely to happen then I’m leaning towards agreeing with scrapping this season, the bonus of Liverpool not winning the title also helps. I think especially because it’s Liverpool though all stops will be pulled out to ensure they have officially won it

I was always partial to heads and volleys myself, catches or wides?

You can change one result in Rovers' history....

The latter two being Allardyces last games? The Bolton one was a sickener, Holden with the goal I think -
The content shared on Facebook and the like is awful, take a Facebook post / lad bible list, put into an ‘article’ then share saying ‘this is class’ and repeat Never been a fan of their reporting on inquests either even when explicitly asked not to by families but that’s probably something most local rags do

Charlie came across as odious and pompous, the only time I actually warmed to him was the first loss at Wembley when his passion came out. The way he spoke to the girl was awful but not wholly unwarranted, she was half assing it but obviously had no time for his brand of bullshit, it’s hard working for folk like that Not many came out looking good from inside the club, the young lad O’Nien came across really well though. Also the taxi driver and lad with the beard are gems, they deserve to see some success. -

Not convinced there’s any new info in that article, is it just speculation that he may get into their plans? -

He’s odious isn’t he, the way he spoke to Mrs Rolly Eyes at the Boxing Day game was awful -

Scottish league teams now voting on ending the season early on a points per game basis, premiership excluded
-
Most of it is sound but being churlish I think it’s ridiculously unfair if Bolton get a reprieve. After all if they had any sort of points deduction as they should have they would have been mathematically down already As a minimum they need to be starting league one next season with the 12 points deducted

According to this article There may be a plan to have all games played in short succession in the midlands with teams locked down in training camps https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/coronavirus-premier-league-isolated-camps-remaining-fixtures-dates-suspension-latest-a9432961.html The fun thing is Liverpool’s title win will always have an asterisk next to it

Signed up to game pass as a distraction - any recommendations?

It feels like it needs a hiatus, some indie shows continued in America at weekend and some of the fans now confirmed as infected. Seems easy for wrestlers to pass on to each other. Need to check out Dark side of the ring, does Blackburn get a mention? After all we are in Wrestling infamy https://prowrestlingstories.com/pro-wrestling-stories/sid-vicious-arn-anderson-fight/

I fear the longer it goes without a denial the more likely it is to be true
