Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
cesus replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Now Val, do you promise to resign like the other managers did, if they don't follow through on the signings again? -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

This is a fact. HMRC and players get paid, no questions will be asked. -
I would always have Pickering down as competent. Nothing special but very rarely has a nightmare. I would always class De Neve as incompetent. How the latter plays before the former cannot be due to footballing ability.

100% this, I would put my neck out to say every other game in our league on Tuesday night had at least three times the amount of bodies in the ground as what we did. -
I've been to watch Clitheroe a few times. I can see why people would dump this club and go and watch them with a pint and less emotional attachment. Its probably quite telling my daughter has a Clitheroe scarf and not a Rovers one.

Rovers in a six pointer = Rovers no show. Season after season, rinse and repeat. It is absolutely tiresome!

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
cesus replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
What bugs the life out of me is that Blackburn Rovers fans are not militant, we are not. Blackburn Rovers fans are not excessively abusive and DO support the team. The level of support from the fans, when continually having custard pies thrown in their face is far greater than what the owners would get at any other club, I am absolutely convinced of it. -

Don't be shouting that too loudly, that would be a dream for Pasha. Although I think they would opt for it to be the Jack Walker stand open. -

Im sorry but if anybody tries to talk about the Championship being a good league I'm going to have to walk away from the conversation. That is yet another absolutely awful game of football from both teams at Ewood. Absolutely terrible! -

Blackburn Rovers in 2025 have fans frantically checking rain graphs, scouring other fans forums for information and measuring river flows. If somebody told me even 5 years ago this was going to be the case I would have probably walked away and never looked back. -

Physically absolutely not, but I'd expect between him and the club they would know how many times a year Ewood Park is not fit for a match. I would expect this is recorded by the groundsman/ club and when challenged by the EFL I would want tough questions asked as to why no money out of the considerable funds the EFL give to the club is being spent on making the pitch playable in heavy rain. -

I want the club to be dragged in front of the EFL and be held to account. We get more rain than the vast majority of the country in East Lancs and we have people working on the pitch daily, surely those people will know how many times out of the 365 days a year the pitch would be unplayable. I want the club and head groundsman to be interviewed on public record to admit how many times that pitch would be unplayable, and who has decided to do nothing be it the groundsman not letting the club know (impossible in my eyes) or the club ignoring his requests. I feel I already know the answer to this but I want the jokers running this club to be exposed. -

You are 100% correct. The league has every right to say we provide you with plenty of funds to run your club, there are physical ways of protecting your pitch (a tank drainage system) if you chose not to we will do our best to get you out of the league. -

Andy Bayes filming the pitch saying "the weather isn’t relenting here" FFS you could film my back garden saying the same but my back garden isn’t a professional sports arena. Are these people on the payroll!?! -

Gestede and Pasha will be coming up with a brain wave ... We will be applying to the EFL to play on Witton Park 3G when it rains! Pathetic. -

What you don't see is the guns being pointed at the groundman from behind the camera. -

Will the wider football media link the two postponement to lack of owner investment ... Will they fuck!!! -

Well I've scratched my head enough as to why De Neve is picked as sub before Pickering or Riberio, I'd now confidently put them both up top ahead of Gueye too. He is absolutely atrocious. I'm usually one to dig out players for conceding late goals, but I'm genuinely gutted for the vast majority of them tonight who grafted for the shirt. -
We are stacking up way too many "those last minute goals will see you relegated" goals. Not good!
-
Not many teams have to patch up the starting 11 and bench BEFORE the hectic Christmas schedule. We play better away from home, but this one screams of being a stinker for us.
-
When a football club runs itself like a "business" (driving down costs and quality) don't be surprised when the "customers" vote with their feet. It is a big old world out there, if people have had enough of going to Ewood I wouldn't criticise them one bit. I'd actually applaud them for hanging around so long.

I cannot talk for the rest of the fan base, but I cannot emphasise enough my personal horror at losing Tronstad before the game. Added to Wharton, Carter, Cantwell and Toth all of whom make up the starting 11 left me completely deflated even before a ball was kicked, I admit it. Then the game kicked off and nothing I witnessed cheered me up in the slightest, intact it made me realise how grim things are going to be. -

Having witnessed that last night how bad must Ribiero and Pickering be in training to not get onto the pitch. -

Let's be honest everybody in a position of seniority at Ewood maintains a view that the fans are the bad guys. The "fans support away from home is amazing" is a dig. The football witnessed at Ewood under this manager has been shambolic and screams of a victim mentality amongst the squad that playing at home is some fearsome tasks. It is absolute crap. -

Another week, another kick in the balls on the selection front. It looks to pull the squad together but we will run out of players soon at this rate.
