Ultimately that’s for the manager to find. I like what he says but we regardless of us missing those chances we conceded bloody 4!! -

The plan is there, I see it. however if the manager does not succeed, plan needs to adapt and you get another manager who fits into your model, aka leeds (Marshe isn’t working but they will get someone else who does). Today was a joke, we need a couple of proper ‘men’- central midfield being one and centre half being the other, this team has no backbone. Plenty of talent but you can slice through us. Not JDT out yet- but a firm waiting for a drastic improvement by Easter and then I make a decision. -
Delap who has scored 3 goals in 22 games in the league and has never hit double figures- Mercer reckons he double figures. Rates Lowe as a manager who before Preston was a league 1 manager- but reckons JDT is rubbish and we ahead in the league and he has won league titles. I think we should wait and see who we actually sign because we seem to get our business done without people knowing and that’s a great thing.

https://www.balls.ie/amp/football/gavin-kilkenny-ireland-star-489347 interested article, he is definitely not a tackler but more of a Morten type.
-
I just meant that clearly Leicester feel he is a player and at least championship level, considering he has proven himself at league 1 already. Some of the comments on here have suggested he is not even a professional footballer (!)
-
Yet Leicester, a premier league club, gave him a long term deal before sending him off on loan… so im guessing they see some ability in him?
-
That line about Broughton, on what do you base this on? One loan transfer made with a few weeks to go of the transfer window? Of the three permanent transfers one is probably player of the year contender so far, one is a massive upgrade at RB (his injuries have been unfortunate) and Sammie who has made some contribution in goals and assists. This summer is where I’ll judge his transfer record but his role is across the football club and not just transfers.
-
Why would you advertise that you have money??? I’ll wait and see who we actually sign by the end of the month.

Hanley!!!! Lol -
Only top two have won more- we can all use selective stats 😝
-
English is what his third language? He has said on numerous occasions he wants top 6, think he was dismissing automatic promotion. Half way and third speaks loud enough to me. New squad and having lost a lot of players over the summer.
-
The big positive for me is that players are being signed on long term contracts, especially the young players that we have developed, that is a marked difference from the last decade. we need to give Gregg especially a year, the backroom staff is more important than the manager in my opinion.
-
Honestly, I’ve read most of his interviews over the last six or so months and he talks about a few windows and making the club sustainable long term. He talks about wanting to go for promotion but it being a dream- when was the last time we made the top 6?? Short term nothing much will change but for the first time in years I do feel off the field we may be moving forward for the first time and let’s not forget we have won 13 games and are 3rd, regardless of how you feel we got there.

A reality check is needed. look at the teams in first and second place in the league, look at the players and look at how much they have spent. Now look at the teams directly below us, Watford as an example, they have £40 million pound Sarr in the first 11, what’s our squad costing us? what is your suggestion on how we compete with these clubs with parachute payments? We can’t outspend them, so going via the academy is the way forward and being smart in the transfer market. We have literally appointed our first DOF and a complete overhaul of the backroom staff, how much time should we give them Mercer, a few months? You have criticised most of the new players (fair enough) but the manager and backroom staff came late, if I’m correct the scouting came AFTER the window. Our two permanent signings have been a success, Sammie has been hot and cold but the rest are loans, some work and others don’t. my general point is that in my view we won’t see a JDT team until next season, I am happy with a top 6 place this season and some exciting young players coming through. This attitude of we should be in the premier league I don’t understand, what’s happened with Venkys has happened but this is not 2000’s anymore and we have to deal with the cards dealt in front of us. -
Chaddy- would either of them get the required number of points? I agree the European market is way forward. I also think that the backroom staff need time now, no point appointing a number of key personnel and then getting rid of them! We are shockingly still in 3rd and I still feel top 6 is achievable.

Can we keep Travis on the bench for a few months and not bring him on- what a total waste of time and costing us points. -
Carabao Cup - next round, moving on - draw.
imy9 replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The second goal is all about Travis… we are attacking on the right and he passes the ball to a forest player, this puts us under pressure and we concede a free kick. He needs a few more weeks on the bench -

I think it’s frankly incredible that we are currently 2nd. Manager and DOF coming in late, new style of play etc. if we finish top 6 this year I would be ecstatic! -New contracts given to players is something we haven’t done in a long long time. -Britain, Hyam (bargain of the season), Morton are all excellent signings. -Wharton, Garrett, Batty introduced into the side. I see so many positives in how we want to play, but this will take months of repetition and at least two more cycles of players coming in and leaving. I have not felt this positive in years and JDT and GB have created this feel good factor, with dare I say it Venkys actually having a plan (Tin hat on!) -
This and the signing of Wharton and Phillips is a great indicator that we finally seem to have a plan for our immediate future. exciting times!

You mean with the players not the manager? players are the issue not the manager here. Give it two more windows and longer time on the training pitch and there will be a positive change.
