  1. That is a fair and balanced assessment re - JDT , and not the sort I was alluding to. Eustace? He’s hardly set the World on fire, but if he keeps us up he’s done his job. I’m unmoved in my opinion that we looked like relegation on a stick towards the end of JDT’s reign. Since then we’ve been a tough watch, but if we scratch out enough points, that will do. Then we can all fret about the Summer Window.
  2. Yes, perhaps, and Mowbray well over-stayed his welcome, but I do think JDT’s overall performance has been elevated to well beyond reality by some. The horrible losing streaks, (for example when the pressure was on at the business end of last season), are clearly a Venkys trait, rather than a managerial one.
  3. Funny how no-one used to say that when we went on a ‘Mowbray death spiral”, the back end of last season being another good example. The head coach, whoever that maybe, obviously isn’t the main problem.
  4. Hardly a convincing argument in a few cases there, and yes, it’s just my opinion. Look at the number and the manner of defeats in the period before JDT left. Also, Eustace hasn’t had the luxury of having Adam Wharton at his disposal. As above, we were dropping like a stone.
  5. It’s black and white as far as I’m concerned. If we stay up, Eustace has done his job for this season, and if we go down he’s failed. We were on a one way ticket to relegation when he took over,(cue cries of blasphemy from JDT disciples).
  6. I can’t stand Venkys as much as the next Rovers fan, but if the intention was to deliberately get relegated , (no-one told Szmodics by the way), why get into a position where it is dependent on other results in the final game?
  7. I agree, apart from helping ourselves (which we aren’t good at), that game looks to be our best hope. If Hull hadn’t score that late equaliser (excellent game) I’d be forlorn.
  8. Agreed, and that was a gift horse in the mouth failure today. I can definitely see the results going against us next week, for various reasons.
  9. ……IF we’ve got a result, (or anyway if rotten fruit is readily available).
  10. I’m obviously hoping it goes well today, but if it doesn’t it will kick off, and I’ll end up arguing with the happy clappers who sit behind me.
  11. Waggott could easily be a character played by Ronnie Barker. With the state of him he surely can't be for real.
  12. Yes, but we clearly needed at least one more striker. That was widely acknowledged last Summer, and that’s why Telalovic was signed at the death.
  13. Signed as a result of Broughton being in a state of complete panic on transfer deadline day because we still hadn't signed a striker.
  14. Apologies, I stand corrected, (but they are b*ggered anyway). Will that help us on Saturday? It should, but we are our own worst enemy.
  15. Yes, three including this evening. To have any chance they need to win all three, including this one.
  16. Exactly. Makes no sense to rest players this evening other than for fatigue .
  17. Be too busy sorting another club for next season or enjoying a nice holiday then.
  18. I think it’s too farcical to be suspicious. That clip will entertain people around the Globe. I think he just went into a complete panic and froze. Impressive spin he got on the ball. Nathan Lyon would’ve been happy with it.
  19. Exactly. Even we looked good against Newcastle, but the circumstances are completely different. I think a lot will depend on how Coventry get on in midweek. If they win, they still have an outside shot of the Play Offs. We could do with Hull popping their balloon.
  20. It was a shocking performance and result yesterday, but I would argue that next Saturday's game is potentially 'easier', because the opposition may have nothing to play for, (depending on their midweek result). Wednesday were always going to come out and scrap. It will be what our players make it, and we need the spirit of Leeds away, rather than the standard home garbage.
  21. What he said last week was to cover his arse with the supporters. The subtext was “I’ve advised the owners to spend money”. Does Broughton have any clout? No.
  22. That is certainly worse than I had thought, but they are 8th in the form table over the last six away games. Wednesday have done well to even still be in with a realistic shout of staying up when you consider the start they had. It should be a really interesting watch (although only on replay for me because of work).
  23. It's a loooong time since we stuffed anyone at home, but it should help if Wednesday come out to chase the win, rather than parking the bus.
