He’s not really shone to date and his finishing has been extremely poor, not a patch on the above two.

I realise it is unfair to judge Buckley on the extremely limited playing time that he is getting but, he just looks beyond poor and far from a player previously touted as a potential £10m player in the making. He looks to have only a single gear, dead slow, and whatever the match, he never seems up for it and is always looking for the easy option. I feel for him a bit but he currently looks out of his depth in the Championship and good job for him, he signed a lucrative 5 year deal as I don’t think there would be many takers at this level.

I think he provides an option late on in games when we need to go a bit more direct and get it into the mixer. His substitution today meant that we had no direct option when chasing the game, in contrast to the Sunderland game where his presence allowed Harry L the chance to level at the death. Playing him from the off, up front and without a strike partner to work on any chaos or balls won, just isn’t going to work.

Really disappointing today, the performance was worryingly lacklustre as was the atmosphere within the ground. Both will need to improve significantly if we are to play our respective parts to vanquish the great unwashed on the 4th January. Despite being poor and Hull claiming the sort of victory that we had been pulling off during our recent winning run, we had 4 or 5 gilt edged chances and should have taken the 3 points. The Dolan miss against Sunderland and those from Cantwell and Beck’s today were really poor and without a natural goal scorer, spurning such chances will see us dropping away from play off contention. Eustace is getting everything from this squad but we desperately need some quality offensive reinforcements brought in during this window.

They should have been two goals but both missed the target and so wouldn’t register in the shots are target count.

Anyone see Swag in the hospitality today, make sure you raise the withheld seats in the JWL and Riverside for the Dingle match. Get them on sale and sold.

I read all MCM’s posts and nice to have him back posting on the board, I didn’t see anything untoward in the posts.

Let’s hope for some pragmatism and common sense breaking from Ewood this morning. Get the remaining JWL / Riverside seats on sale.

This really needs calling out, why are Blackburn Rovers an exception. We have 4 distinct stands, there can be no good reason as to why seats in home ends are being withheld from sale. If they are going to maintain that position, then they really need to detail and clarify the rationale for preventing a business selling its product to paying customers. This needs to be taken up in any event but obviously the preference is for the club to get their act together, grow some gonads and put the seats on sale.

He was a real talent, his subsequent career and big money / big club moves provides clear evidence of this. Simply, he didn’t get enough minutes on the pitch, from the start or the bench and my belief is that Bowyer failed to integrate him and make the best of his talent. No issue with Rudy or Jordan getting the shirts but King was under utilised and in my opinion, should have helped us into the play offs.

Admittedly, we had Rhodes and Gestede scoring goals but better integration and use of King would have surely seen us make the play offs. Not foregoing that, Bowyer’s poor use of King without doubt cost the club a decent transfer fee as he was on record as saying that is why he wouldn’t take a new contract.

I agree, probably too late and there is a case for originally restricting sales within the Darwen End. Notwithstanding that, they need to be brought to account re: the available seats in the home support stands that they are currently withholding from sale, whilst announcing that Ewood Park is sold out. Come on Swag / Suhail / Lindsay T, sort it out.

Agreed, if not, Swag can never plead poverty again 😊

When we are desperately trying to encourage folk back to Ewood on a regular basis, the last thing we want is thousands outside at kick off as they do ‘extra’ ticket checks.

Not for me, he needed to play through the middle. Handled and played correctly, he would have ripped up that league, absolute speed merchant.

Yep, Josh King was criminally wasted by Bowyer and then left for nowt 😡

George Donis and Windy Miller come to mind. Not forgetting Tyler Magloire and Devarn Green, both reported to be lightening quick but never earned their spikes at Ewood.

With a big crowd, hopefully they don’t go and screw the matchday experience up with the extra ticket checks 🙈
