  1. We were reported to be after him for the last few windows. How on earth can we allow Adam W to sign for Palace without at least securing the loan of their winger, what we have been crying out for for years.
  2. I think they picked up the goal scoring Gueye and the Finnish lad we were rumoured to be interested in
  3. FFS, have we had more than 45 minutes from this lad yet. Sod’s law that as soon as he is deemed ready to play from the start, he’s bloody injured and our wait for a proper winger continues.
  4. I couldn’t agree more Jim but I would be absolutely amazed if that wasn’t the case. There is no way an EFL team does a 200+ mile journey on the morning for a 12:30 kick off, not even one with Waggott / Pasha at the helm. I didn’t check the train schedules but as a very frequent traveller on the Preston / London route, it is very rare that the train stops at Watford Junction, unlike the old days where it was always last stop before Euston.
  5. The old Ewood Boardroom was famous through the game for the hospitality being second to none for visiting press and club officials.
  6. If true, and no reason to think the Swansea commentator would be making that up, yet another nail in the club that Jack built and another example of the Venkys failing to respect his legacy. Shameful !
  7. Train to Watford used to be the regular travel mode but very few stop at Watford Junction now and if you then travelling back out from London, they may as well travel down in the comfort of Waggott’s super bus. I’m guessing that the £10 allowance is an embellishment rather than a fact, if the latter, that really would be the end game of a once proud club.
  8. I don’t blame him one bit and just a pity that he wasn’t given it.
  9. What a great life that lad lives 🙈
  10. What did for Hirst was missing the late penalty opportunity at Cardiff, unfortunately there was no coming back from that as all confidence was gone. Had he scored it could have been very different as confidence plays a big part in being a goal scoring CF. Most decent strikers score on their debut or within the first couple of games, if they don’t it is usually ominous. Corrado Grabbi had real ability and was very unlucky in early games, should have had a hatrick against United but he just couldn’t score and then you see a downward spiral, especially players in a foreign country. On this basis, I am really now beginning to worry about Gueye.
  11. Yep, no excuses, that has to find the net.
  12. I did but Hedges, Hyam and Weiman didn’t get the note 🙈
  13. I thought we looked really well drilled today, defended superbly and kept a good shape. Sadly, in a game that we should have taken 3 points, we leave with nothing and going forward the issues remain, a complete lack of pace and just no real goal threat. No idea how Hyam missed that one from 5 yards and Weiman should have done better but we are just too slow and have a tendency to overplay and consistently turn over the ball with slack passes. Since the Burnley sending off, Gueye seems to have offered virtually nothing and neither he or Yuki appear capable of playing a lone role and provide a goal threat. Think the manager is doing a good job but his options are really limited and difficult to see how these players are going to keep us in touch of the play off race.
  14. I like both JDT and Eustace. We played some great football under JDT and if backed, we would have had a great shot at promotion but he was deceived, lied to and understandably got fed up with the turmoil within the club and basically quit. Eustace also has to work under massive constraints but seems to have the squad available to him on side and created a good spirit within the group. Yep, it is far from champagne football but he has us organised, difficult to beat and in the top six and for that, we should be very thankful.
  15. I am pretty sure that we advertised for a set piece coach and also that someone came in, but I think on a contract basis, as I saw him posting on X about his involvement and credentials. Maybe, we have been so poor in that area, for so long, they have said let the goalkeeper have a go, he can’t do any worse. One thing for sure, Mercer won’t be too impressed on Benson’s brief being extended 😂
  16. Good idea, the last thing that the club needs is less people coming through the gates. An amnesty opportunity provides a short term solution against this deception, a decent fairly priced early bird offer like Notlob / Knob End, a longer term solution.
  17. I can understand him wanting to claim it and ideally, I wish it was his. He is a CF and they need to score goals, we will shortly hit 10 league games and he hasn’t scored yet and so that really must be getting to him and worrying all Rovers fans.
  18. And to the detriment of Blackburn Rovers ! Bloody typical that he has been scoring aplenty at Hiroshima, top of the J League and top scorer and yet not called up, as soon as he heads to Brockhall and could do with the rest, they drag him back to the other side of the world.
  19. Great player, the old number 4 and today’s 6, had a ferocious free kick on him.
  20. Please don’t, I’m still trying to get over it 😡
  21. No doubt fared a lot better than the other signing from Argyle during the Kenny years, Crapper Morrison.
  22. Pacey and tricky wingers, how long have we been waiting for that sort of player, Kehdra is the only one that has come close to that category. What we would give for a Brotherston / Windy, Scotty / Howard Gayle, Ripley / Wilcox combination.
  23. Indeed, feel for you on that front. I’ve been a good number of times to Home Park and only seen one win. The one when Nicky Marker took Ossie out on his debut and we lost 3 0 remains a particularly painful match and homeward journey.
  24. The DNA of the last few seasons returns, conceding right at the death ! Wouldn’t it be nice to be on the other side of very late goals, every now again. The only positive I can find is that it came 300 miles away rather than 7 miles away at the Turd or Dumpdale.
