  1. He did indeed, a really smart turn and hit it really well and was goal bound but for hitting the defender.
  2. The first goal stemmed from Beck going for header on the half way which he lost and was then out of position and leaving Roberts bags of room. Beck did seem to be really tucked in to the CH and that gave Roberts the freedom of the flank, especially in the second half.
  3. Couldn’t agree more. Games can be won by different tactics and inverted wingers are favoured in the modern game but Patrick Roberts showed today how effective getting to the byline and crossing can be, managed it twice and both times it ended up in our net.
  4. I thought he had a good game and caught Dunny’s summary on Radio Lancs on the way home and he said that he thought Baker was terrific in the middle. One of our very best midfielders of years gone past and so I think his thoughts should carry some credibility.
  5. A good post but I disagree about Baker, I thought he was excellent and proved a great replacement for Travis. Unless we win, I generally leave Ewood felling pretty low but today, I left happy with the point and having witnessed a great game. What a difference a winner or equaliser at the death makes to raise your spirit and mood, something that we have seldom seen and experienced at Ewood in recent years. Credit to Eustace, he is making the sum of the team add up to much more than the constituent parts he has available.
  6. Only under Venky / Swag’s Rovers 😡
  7. A perfect summary, Merry Christmas to everyone at BRFCS who make this forum possible and to all posters, who allow us to share the highs and lows of following this great club. COYB
  8. I have to agree that he hasn’t shown anything in a Rovers shirt to suggest he can make it. Having said that, he hasn’t shown anything never really had an extended run and was rated highly at Spurs and is a real fans favourite at Saltergate. I would be happy to see him back and given a chance but given our current league position, it doesn’t look like a recall would work for either Rovers or the player.
  9. Your right ! I might well be wrong but the last at the death winner I can recall was when Lenehan scored against Forest at the City Ground.
  10. I really think we need at least a point in order to really keep the momentum building on the pitch and with regard to Boxing Day and 4th January ticket sales. A win would see us all go into Christmas cockahoop.
  11. If that is right for this game, it would be total incompetence and stupidity. Surely they released 3 blocks with intention opening the full top tier capacity, subject to demand. However, this is Swag’s business acumen and management capability 🙈
  12. I’m really hoping that the tickets continue to sell well for Burnley but also hoping that the Boxing Day match sales pick up, still plenty of green availability on the day that traditionally would provide a really good local turnout.
  13. A very good point, well made. If only Steve and Pasha weren’t deaf, dumb and blind to logic and evidence 🙈
  14. To be fair, I hadn’t checked that it was open before heading over but my expectation was that on the Tuesday prior to Xmas, it would have been welcoming paying customers.
  15. The more, the merrier. Would be brilliant to see Ewood rocking again, it has been far too long.
  16. Still far too many green seats within the Riverside for my liking, for both Boxing Day and the 4th January. A plea to all stay aways and folk home for Xmas, let’s get behind our team and at least get a sell out of the available ground and leave them with no option but to open up the BBE upper tier. COYB
  17. Went to the Rovers shop today specifically to pick up a few things for Xmas. Got there at 14:00 to find the shop in darkness and a sign on door saying, closed at 13:30 today. Just as I was turning around and muttering expletives a lad with his son turned up, he had checked advertised opening hours before setting off from Clitheroe. Typical of Swag’s running of this once proud club 😡
  18. Chris Sulley came to us from Dundee United, a really decent full back and all round nice chap. One time after he played and we won away at Ipswich, he got on the London train with us post match and ended up in the old George IV pub, near the Caledonian Road and the only Thwaites pub in London, for more than a few beers. Good memories of the late 80’s following Rovers.
  19. That was a dark day for our club, unbelievable that the CEO basically said there was no aspiration or expectation, apart from staying up. No wonder JDT spent every week calling him out for disrespecting our club and telling lie after lie.
  20. Again, the gift that keeps giving 😂
  21. I couldn’t agree more. All people like to feel appreciated for a job, well done.
  22. Hopefully, folk turn up against the Makems and Dingles and then stick with the team through the second half of the season. If Ewood was somehow restored to a noisy and hostile support, it could well make the difference between falling short or making the elusive play offs.
  23. It won’t last forever but as long as we get one on January 4th, I’ll be happy.
  24. Fantastic, let’s get it going. Only disappointment today was the crowd, this team need and deserve better support, time any stay aways turn up and give Eustace and his team all the help we can.
