  1. Also helps if the ref keeps adding time on until you score. Which was what ‘Fergie time’ was: that time beyond added time that only Ferguson was afforded. Even Moyes didn’t get it. In fact I think he got less!
  2. Absolutely no point in protesting again at this stage. We couldn’t muster more than a couple of hundred when Kean and co were running the club into the ground. Not being backed in the transfer window is the least of our worries. It’s now all about the long game. The only way Venkys will save face enough to sell, let alone fetch the kind of asking price the lions want, is if we are a PL team. Until then we are hostages. With a reasonable minority of Stockholm Syndrome affected fans shouting down any impatience.
  3. He can do it how he likes. He just needs to win football matches.
  4. But we didn’t. And no new signings able to start the game is a negative not a positive. Here’s hoping!
  5. Hurst is a very good manager. His team ran out of steam last season but he had them playing well beyond their individual abilities.
  6. Don’t worry mate. We’ll soon get told he wasn’t even a target. This is why clubs don’t talk about players until the deal is done.
  7. Post-match interview with Bielsa was cringeworthy!
  8. Leeds’ pitch is a disgrace. It’s the opening game and it has dirty great sods all over it.
  9. £30 is too much for a child season ticket? I’d say Under 4yo probably aren’t that interested in the football and it’s about keeping the parents interested and getting children into the habit. I don’t think we do enough to make it affordable for teenagers and their families - and we haven’t even got onto the fact we are charging an 18yo £215 - and probably encouraging them to take out loans to be able to afford to go.
  10. The parent of a 7yo is given a free ST. The parent of a 13yo pays £90 for the same ticket. My ‘logic’ was that the 7yo old’s parent could pay £30 so that the parent of the 13yo only pays £60. Is that really so illogical? Or unfair?
  11. Rangers have just conceded and equaliser in the 93rd minutes. Injury time now seems to regularly hit 5+ minutes and at a time when players are tiring, it’s no wonder goals tend to go in that late. Felt a bit for Rangers. They had a red card in the 12th minute for a minimal of petulant kick out after the Aberdeen defender shoulder barged the Rangers lad with the ball on the other side of the pitch. It was nothing and a yellow card for both players would have been OTT. However, it’s no wonder players roll around on the ground after a bit of contact because referees don’t do anything otherwise.
  12. Yep, posted yesterday. I’m not convinced West Brom will be all that but Bolton got a good three points away. Especially playing with 10 men. (Wonder if he will have a Kevin Davies experience there...) Wigan conceded two at home so did well to get three themselves. Preston got the perfect “manager’s result”. All in all, it’s a better division to be a part of. There will be more frustrations like yesterday I’m sure but - after the lows and highs of the last two seasons - a midtable season, non-relegation battle, season would be very welcome.
  13. Rovers see away fans as just important to the coffers as home fans. If they can make it a great day out more will come. We’ve even moved our home fans to accommodate away fans - and only for a few matches. Ironically though, now we have moved home fans out of the DE there isn’t even the safety excuse not to stick them in the upper tier - and charge them what we like as the BBE is closed. Will we? I doubt it.
  14. A line up that divided fan opinion. It happened regularly when Lowe was captain and again last season.
  15. Mowbray always seems to make controversial starting selections and regularly poor substitutions.
  16. I can never understand the logic of the shirt manufacturers marketing team. They seem to think that they need to make the shirt sufficiently different each season to encourage people to buy one. But a shirt is the identity of the club - especially one as iconic as Rovers blue and white halves - the changes need to be in the stylisation, not fundamental thing like the blue and the mirroring of the halves. Fans will buy the new shirt if they like it and not because it’s different from the last few seasons. I’ll be wearing the first dafabet one a bit longer yet. I won’t even buy this one when they are selling it off in April. It does not need to be marmite, it needs to look good to the fans they are selling to. We aren’t United or Liverpool. There isn’t huge demand outside of the local catchment area.
  17. I jus my think it looks much more fitting with the shirt. The colour will be less of an issue the more we see it. The logo won’t.
