  1. It would be good if one of the fan groups could get an answer from the club about why they don’t house away fans in the upper tier. Even if the lower stand is empty. There is no intention to maximise the home fan numbers so why are they (presumably) trying to maximise the away fan numbers by making their experience more convenient/pleasant? Get the smaller followings out of the way upstairs.
  2. 2 points out of 6 means you are undefeated. Although we are behind teams with one win and one loss so it’s not really something to champion. Hiwever, 2 points out of 9 and it starts to look poor. Let’s hope for our first win.
  3. He got Bumley promoted so he can’t be that bad. Give him a chance FFS! Disclaimer: I actually feel really sorry for Blackpool fans. They don’t deserve any of this. Just imagine the standard of Blackpool player after half a season of table tennis and doughnuts.
  4. Waggott was supposed to be appealing this and then... nothing. Wonder if we missed a deadline or something?
  5. I think we played exactly that game and the ‘selling clubs’ called us on it.
  6. Providing we don’t leave it until the 31st!
  7. Surely tactical to see if they would accept a lower offer as the deadline approached. They didn’t blink first, we missed out. But it suggests we don’t have the kind of war chest that allows you to go out and make deals early in the window
  8. We’re not in Oz anymore, Toto. It’s going to be a long hard season. Is it that the personnel is wrong, or the tactics (1 point is better than 0 and it’s not worth risking it for the extra 2)? We can’t keep saying “we should have scored 3 or 4”. Hopefully we will give someone an absolute mullering soon and and say “it’s been coming”.
  9. Boom! Another straw man post, right on cue.
  10. Very interested to see how this team does...
  11. If any of that is true, Venkys will be scratching their heads asking “Tony, why did you say you need money if you don’t spend it?” But: Brereton - player fault Freedman - selling club fault Gallagher - player/wages fault It’s like transfer window disappointment 101. All nicely tied off and nothing to do with Mowbray/Rovers/Venkys. Nice one Nicko!
  12. Anyone know why they have brought back a loan window after scrapping it last season? Or are there different rules for Championship and League 1?
  13. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/august/rovers-link-up-with-ainsworth-jewellers/ Peter Jackson pulled out? Or do we have two competing jewellers now sponsoring us? If PJtJ is no longer involved it’ll be strange not to hear “Peter Jackson’s Man of the Match” at games.
  14. Yeah, yeah loans but first I want to know where the three suitcases of money are?? ???
  15. Nice spin. Yet another straw man in fact. We need to scout our targets, understand their market worth and make a bid that is likely to hit the mark. However, my point was that we have no idea if we have money or not. Yet some like to confidently state that we do and ram it down the throats of the “non-believers”. If we had brought in one of our targets - even if at a slightly higher votive than we’d have ideally liked (we have the cash after all) then we would have some proof. As it is, like most windows we have: - gaps in the first team (for this level) - expectation raising empty words, excuses and lack of actual proven quality signings - our hopes pinned on the loan market (and freebies) - no more proof than in the past four years of Venkys intent Yet some, like you, choose to ignore what has actually happened and continue to play games and throw rocks. I actually want you to be right! Just once would be a start!!
  16. I’ve no problem with lowballing per we. However, it can give people the impression that we are sat on a pot of cash. Which isn’t great for fan morale if we don’t.
  17. If you bid too low for a player then you have no real chance anyway. And you run the risk of the selling club thinking you aren’t serious. Are we such a poor judge of the market prices? It’s the equivalent of saying “you won’t win the lottery if you don’t buy a ticket” - or more accurately “you can win the lottery you just have to buy a ticket” - which is subtly different.
  18. Not much of a War Chest (by the usual definition) if a £4m player costs too much. Unless it’s a War of Attrition Chest! If he has £5m to spend and is trying to use that to buy 4 or 5 players and won’t do deals that make that approach difficult then we really don’t have a great budget after all. Or we have pots of cash and a cautious, dare I say unambitious, manager trying to (not) spend it. It’s one thing only wanting players if you can buy them on your terms but in the current market you run the risk of missing out completely.
  19. The only chink of light is the literal embarrassment of riches that PL teams have these days. Many players are going to have to go on loan to the Championship to get game time.
  20. Very easy to stick a £750k bid in early doors. If you get laughed at and the player eventually goes for £4m then it is factual to say that we had a bid in for a player.
  21. Please tell me you haven’t come on here to have a pop at us cos of one dickhead (probably a thick kid, ironically with “Place of birth: Bumley” on his birth certificate) posting on social media NOT on this site?? You’re better than that. Did you go, btw?
