  1. Really struggling with how badly Mowbray has this decent set of players playing. If he hasn’t lost the dressing room yet I don’t want to watch them when he has. 🙈
  2. Branthwaite really isn’t ready. If he was one of our U23s he’d be getting pelters. Can’t wait until Wharton is back.
  3. We could do with Boro either scoring or missing a penalty so that the ref feels it’s even again. We are going to struggle otherwise.
  4. Had probably hoping that Mowbray would have been gone by then.
  5. The ref is going to give every fifty-fifty against us from here on in to balance that one. Look out for a soft pen.
  6. If only that actually counted for anything...
  7. They only got that “cutting insight” from our goals against column under Mowbray.
  8. The £5.99 is to watch on your mobile - I think.
  9. Honestly, the bullshit these Sky pundits spout. You can tell they haven’t watched a minute of our games when they say stuff like “Blackburn go direct because of the efficiency of it”. WTF?
  10. Looking at the bench makes more interesting reading these days. The absences of Dack and Brereton have been bemoaned yet brought back when they aren’t fit to start?
  11. Is Stewart Downing doing his badges?
  12. We should be looking at a marquee manager like Steven Gerrard. A season in the Championship and promotion on his CV before he takes over from Klopp. Would certainly capture the imagination of fans and get people back into the ground. Dream world of course. In reality it will boil down to when Mowbray feels he has made enough coin to get his kids through university and for a very comfortable retirement.
  13. I don’t feel I’m being precious. I feel I’m being lied to about the kind of club we are. Even ignoring the utter lack of ‘respect for Jack Walker’s legacy’ we should as a bare minimum expect a playing surface befitting a team in the top half of the Championship and some pride in the appearance of the stadium. There will be League Two clubs with more pride that Waggott’s Rovers. For shame!
  14. Nice work. Now we just need someone to get a photo of the River Darwen at a trickle and they’ll be banged to rights!!! In all seriousness though, our pitch is dreadful and I wouldn’t be surprised if the weather forecast brought up a great excuse to postpone - especially with it being BCD. When one of your players gets injured by the playing surface, something needs to be done urgently. This second home game in a few days was bad timing. We should expect a fine though.
  15. The amount of rainfall should not have caused a postponement. A grass playing surface at an elite level football club should be maintained to elite level standard. Give the ground staff the right tools!
  16. No way is this down to the level of rain. Nothing to speak of compared to other recent spells. This is all down to the pitch. Something has changed at the club in recent times IMHO. On the face of it, spending the absolute minimum on maintenance is now biting. Embarrassing.
  17. Of course there can be a feelgood factor. It requires a successful team on the pitch. Imagine if we were in the top 2 and in good form with Gallagher and Brereton on 10 goals each. TV or in person that would get the imagination going. At it’s heart, as we all know, success on the pitch is what sells tickets and puts bums on seats. With the money he has spent, Mowbray has squandered that opportunity and we look to be treading water. Not going to capture anyone’s imagination.
  18. True enough. I just don’t see Mowbray delivering it. He seemed to have changed tack at the start of this season but has reverted to type - even with most of his first choice players back fit. There is absolutely no feel-good factor at all at the minute to keep the regulars interested, let alone new fans. Something has to change.
  19. If you wanted to shut down the Riverside you’ve just found the most supporter-friendly way to do so. There has the either be an upgrade to the Riverside or a discount. Aside from that, I’d be ok with that as a pricing strategy. Sadly I think that the current CEO has a vision for making STs £500 minimum. He hasn’t grasped that the football just isn’t worth that - and may never be for many Lancastrians. The opportunity presented itself at the Oxford game. Bank holiday, superb weather, tenner a ticket IIRC, and a promotion party made for very exceptional circumstances. But there is no reason not to try to entice even just half of those numbers. He didn’t because he assumed (wrongly) that he could just carry on putting up prices and they would just flock back. He was wrong.
  20. I think that sums up a lot of things at the moment.
  21. Honestly it’s hard to look at this pitch without imagining one of the Rovers coaches out picking up dog shit before the game.
  22. Haha! It’s another Dack moment!
  23. 1-0 down and we bring on Buckley instead of Dolan.
  24. Rothwell seemed to hold on to that too long. I called offside in real time. I’d be happy to see whatever definitive replay Neil and Warren are looking at.
  25. Is Elliott doubling up at right back with Nyambe?
