  1. Well having listened to it on the radio it sounded like we had a good first minute, then a decent spell after half time. We was facing a hard battle to start with, just playing Kuqi up front and this desparately needs sorting out. Another thing we need to sort out is our corners - we had loads of them but nothing came from them at all. I'm sure Pedersen has got worse at them. Saying that, we probably didn't deserve to lost 4-2, especially with a handball, an own goal and a goal from giving them the ball back.
  2. Yes he did. Sergio Peter came on and took his place on the left wing, and he went up with Kuqi. Could say it worked because he probably wouldn't have been in that position to score such an incredible goal had he still been playing on the left.
  3. BRISA more than likely are, but organisations such as the Football Supporters Federation aim to challenge bigger footballing issues.
  4. Keep up Jordan!!! The Axe didn't go to the African Nations because he fell out with the coach, and because he wasn't captain anymore. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/4585748.stm
  5. Well things might be a bit different down there, but at Rovers they train more than four hours a week. When my brother was at Rovers he trained twice during the week for 2 hours, then on a Saturday sometimes for an extra 2 hours, then the games were on a Sunday. And that was only up till the age of 15. After that, at 16, players become full time and play football most of the day every day. It is true that other countries ie Italy, Spain and especially Holland are ahead of us in terms of youth setup, but we are getting there I think.
  6. Most bookies will wait till the weekend to produce a price for the actual game. Because if Man U win 10-0 at the weekend and Rovers lose, the odds will be calculated differently to if Rovers win 10-0 and Man U lose. Midweek coupons normally arrive on Monday morning
  7. Exactly! He is an excellent talent, he may as well make use of the opportunities he has been given. Although the fans at Southampton will not be very happy at all, if they get £15m for a 16 year old then that is very good business for the academy/team in general. At the age of 15 Southampton were offered £2m for him, not a bad increase! Of the big clubs I think Arsenal would be best for his development - they are good with bringing their young players through, and to play with such excellent players can only help him
  8. Yea but, the last train from preston to blackburn is at 22.38, which is pretty useless:)
  9. I dunno SS, my friend went down to get a ticket today and is on row 37 seat 180 which is in the clouds, and they said that block was the only one they had tickets left for.
  10. Just checked the last national express train, but that goes at 22.45 One of your best bets may be to buy a ticket for away travel, go to the game on the train, then get back on away travel, because getting the last train (and bus) at 23.08 will be pushing it
  11. It is a very good idea in principal, but there's all the legal stuff which would probably stop it from happening. As a club, Rovers can't be responsible for 1000 kids (just for example) because one of them may get injured or whatever and you can bet that the parent will want to blame the club.
  12. To be fair to him, he didn't particularly say anything against Rovers - just that Riley was rubbish, which he was. He said that everyone was just as infuriated about the ref, fans, managers and players. He pointed out some fouls from Rovers which if Riley had been consistant would have also got a yellow etc. He said Bentley's shouldn't have been a yellow, but at that point Riley had just lost the game. One good point he made which I certainly hadn't considered is that some refs have reffed for 4-5 in a row over Christmas. We hear a lot about how players get fatigued, but he gave the example of Mark Clattenburg, who is regarded as one of the better ones. Over Christmas he'd reffed 4 games - travelling about 2000 miles in total (prollys a bit of an exageration!) and when you're tired that is when you make more mistakes.
  13. Bolton came to rattle us. They were targetting Savage in particular and I think he did well not to react to anything. They play an ugly style of football and they play for free kicks, throwins, goal kicks - and they are good at it. Once Nakata had been sent off they were there for the beating. We should have brought Tugay on straight away to stretch the play and at least bring him on at half time. He would have been able to make the best of a scrappy game. Too many of our players weren't on top form again - Pedersen was poor, Bentley in the second half etc. We could have nicked the win, Emerton was unlucky, whilst Dickov's miss was just plain stupid - how did it manage to go wide?!? But just thank god Vaz Te fell over right at the end!!
  14. I am confident going into this game (not sure if thats good or not tho!). Three of the players missing would be regulars in their team - Okocha, Diouf and Jaidi, so that'll be good for Rovers. At the very least we wont lose to a Diouf dive! 3-1 to Rovers - Bellamy 2 and Kuqi
  15. Whilst in the second half Man U were better than us, it wasn't like the Man U of old - at no point was I really scared they run away with it and score two or three goals. They are, afterall, now fighting with the rest of us just to win the Carling Cup
  16. Skysports News have just said that Jansen is currently training with Man City
  17. The final document that has been sent to the club has just been uploaded. Thankyou to everyone for your contriibutions, but if you have anything else to add please still send them in to admin@brisa.org.uk because we may well make a version 2 in the future BRISA Attendance Improvement Proposal - v1.0 BRISA Attendance Improvement Proposal - v1.0 (PDF Version)
  18. It is now
  19. Hahahaha bunch of amateurs - nothing like this would ever happen at Rovers
  20. One of Mark's friends phoned up yesterday for a ticket and they refused to sell him one because he wasn't on the database. He had been to Rovers before just never bought a ticket for himself before. Even though he could prove he had a blackburn post code they said it couldn't prove he wasn't a Man U fan. Which although in a way is sensible, are we really in a position to be turning people away? This is the kind of fixture that could bring new fans to the club, but if they are getting tunred away it is completely sending out the wrong message.
  21. I think one of the reasons we haven't done this in the past is we haven't known which division we'd be in the following season so therefore the season ticket package would be different. But now would be an ideal time to start - we aren't going down, there is a general feeling of confidence about Rovers and this would influence people's decisions to get tickets for next season.
  22. I'd say that we are prepared for this. But at the moment the average person does not know that these things have been tried and what we'd be looking for would be for is the club to say 'yea we've tried this, but it didn't work for reasons a, b, c so therefore we didn't continue.' At least the wider public would know what Rovers are trying to do and why.
  23. Oh I hope Lee has pressed the wrong buttons but I suspect not! Bloody Sky/BBC!!!!
  24. If I remember correctly he's only had one Premiership game, Fulham against Wigan and he was absolutely shocking. Booked Volz for diving when it was a stonewall penalty. Should be fun!!
  25. He'd be multifunctional too! He could provide our pre match entertainment with his music band, then he can play in midfield during the game.
