  1. A 2/10 window for me. I like the look of some of our new signings but it will no doubt take them time to adapt. They needed to learn from experienced champ players and be integrated into the team slowly. But now they'll be thrown in before they are ready and it's sink or swim time. Us football fans are harsh judges, and many write players off if they don't hit the ground running, and then it's tough for a player to come back from that. It's the biggest gamble we've ever taken in the transfer market. The owners will be absolutely delighted with how the window has gone and the board will be getting a pat on the back today.
  2. Sheff W, Hull, and Oxford will be very happy with our transfer window. Gives them a lifeline in this league. We are surely now one of the favourites to go down. The club fully deserves to go down. Sad for us fans but it's fully deserved by those running and owning the club.
  3. Hyam being sold and no replacement coming in. This is without doubt one of our worst windows ever. Possibly our worst ever. What is the club thinking? Or perhaps there's not a lot of thinking and that's the problem...
  4. Then it's 99% certain he'll be coming here then
  5. I don't know too much about him but I think this shows how far we have fallen. We are fairly satisfied with a squad player from Brum who is deemed not good enough for them.
  6. Miller to replace Hyam then and this guy to cover RB and CM.
  7. The owners will be delighted with this window. The objectives would have been: Reduce the wage bill ✅ Spend less than we bring in ✅ Reduce the average age of the squad ✅ Buy potential that we may be able to sell on for a profit ✅ Create pathways for players from the academy ✅ That is literally all the ambition is at the club these days. I don't think there's even a pretence anymore that we're trying to get back to the premier league. The only issue is that we haven't bought many players that are 'championship ready'. The majority are going to take months to get up to speed and even then it's inevitable some won't be good enough.
  8. Hyam likely to be sold today. Oh dear, that's a massive blow. Can we even get a replacement in at this stage? Our leader and mr consistent at the back sold. That's not a good move at all for us. The spine of the team has been blown apart this summer.
  9. Feel sorry for the fans who paid good money to go to the game. Game over after 45 mins.
  10. Think VI has seen what us fans have seen for a while - we are powderpuff up top. Two new strikers suggests that hasn't gone unnoticed by the coaching team. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ohashi used more on the RW, where I thought he was really good at the beginning of last season. Definitely think Gueye is out the door in Jan. Think VI has already seen enough and deemed him nowhere near good enough.
  11. I think it probably does mean we've made a breakthrough. Probably agreed a fee or something along those lines for a new striker.
  12. Good signing for Peterborough, great move for the player, and decent money for us. Definitely could become a good championship striker if he stays injury free. The good news for us is that it very likely means we're close to bringing in a striker.
  13. Blackburn are one of several clubs interested in Browne. Won't happen. We only sign players when we're the only club in for them.
  14. I personally find that kind of post unprofessional. Many people have an axe to grind with a former employer but I don't think posting that kind of line on a public forum is the thing to do. Keep it in the DMs and private group chats.
  15. Interesting that we made a point of adding this in the statement 😆 He now links up with his former Rovers team-mates Danny Batth, Andi Weimann, Owen Beck, Dion Sanderson and fellow Rovers Academy graduate Ryan Nyambe at Derby County, managed by ex-Rovers head coach John Eustace.
  16. This one won't happen. When there are other clubs involved, we get outmuscled financially. Suspect the club doesn't really expect this one to come off.
  17. This would be a big move. A good striker would be a game changer and could put us in with an outside chance of the top 6. Ryoya, a good striker, and an-in form Cantwell would be a very good forward line at this level.
  18. It's great to watch the welcome videos and see players that are genuinely excited and buzzing to be joining us. It's a big opportunity for many of them to enhance their careers and I'm sure that was the intention to buy hungry players with a point to prove. McLaughlin is the only one you would say has made a sideways move and perhaps has the least to prove. It makes a big difference in the dressing room if you have players that genuinely want to be here compared to players in the last year of their deal and probably looking for an exit.
  19. Very happy with the Ryoya signing. From the sounds of it, a bit of a coup to get him. Played a big role in their Europa Conf League run last season and supposedly didn't look out of place against clubs like Chelsea. Ryoya, Cantwell, Kargbo, and a new striker could be a very dangerous front 4. Don't think Soumano will come here but I'm pleased to see that we are actively after a striker as we were led to believe we only wanted a RW.
  20. Yeah I don't think he's the RW signing so I reckon we'd still be looking at Afolayan too. If we can get these signings over the line then we could actually have a very exciting squad full of pace and athleticism. Not sure the last time we had a squad that had those traits. We've been a very one-paced team for a long time.
  21. He's apparently a left wing back who can also play left wing or left back. Very good going forward. Very reputable sources saying it's a done deal so I expect this one will happen. Looks like a real coup. Interesting that we're signing a left sided player when we're well covered on that side and it's never been mentioned that we're after a player in that position. It is needed though as De Neve and Hedges should be back up players.
  22. We already signing a replacement for De Neve? 😆
  23. I agree, I think he does have the attributes to be a decent player but he needs to play regularly to develop his game and he's simply not good enough to play regularly in the Championship right now. It's one of the toughest leagues in the world imo.
  24. He's a very poor player who VI doesn't rate. I don't think he'll go in this window though as it would be tough to get a replacement in and we're already light up top. Suspect he will leave in Jan though.
  25. Are players even being offered a new contract? I think whether Hyam and Hedges sign a new contract or not will tell us a lot, particularly Hedges. He's a player who will be well within our wage structure and will have zero interest from any other championship clubs. If he goes in the next 12 months then we know current players are simply not being offered new deals.
