  1. He's exactly the type of signing we should be making. Young, re-sale value, lowish wages, and bags of talent. Also based in the North West. Thank you Venkys for rendering us unable to compete financially in the second tier of English football.
  2. 3.5 days to save our season. Anyone have any faith in them bringing in 2-3 quality players? Me neither. Definitely bracing myself to be underwhelmed.
  3. I think Kargbo would have been a decent signing if he had signed a couple of proven attacking players to complement him. Taking gambles from abroad is something we do need to do, but we have to balance that up with proven quality too.
  4. If you bring in players like Sanderson and Forshaw to "help the group", then these are the kind of results you get. Constant downgrading of the squad, which we've seen again this window, eventually takes you to league one.
  5. Forget top 6, we need to make sure we get enough points to avoid a relegation scrap. We're sinking like a stone as we always do this time of year. Venkys really are scum.
  6. This should be a comfortable victory for Bristol City. We have a depleted squad, bang out of form, and no goals in five of the last 8 games. Still, this is the championship and it can defy logic at times.
  7. I fully expect Kargbo to join us before the end of the window. He's cheap, on low wages, and no other teams are in for him. They're all conditions required for a player to join us. It hurts to say it but we are a shambles of a club and one whose squad gets weaker every window. If Eustace leaves in the summer, which I expect, then we'll be big favourites for relegation next season. That's how bad I think we are and how good Eustace is. Wrexham and Brum will come up so that's two more clubs with more financial muscle than us. Being in 5th right now really does mask the massive problems at the club and downward trajectory we are on.
  8. So predictable. The wheels come off every season right about now when the lack of January transfer action bites year after year.
  9. It is a GK error. He's gonna come and try and punch that. It was weak goalkeeping.
  10. Lack of transfers really telling now. Some of our better players out and the form has plummeted. I really don't see us getting anything from this game now. Our record when we go one down must be one of the worst in the league. Zero goals in this squad.
  11. One down which probably means game over.
  12. I can see us bringing in another CM after Sonny is likely to be out for a month or two. Eustace said we were "loose" in midfield yesterday which is a nice way of saying he thought the midfield was rubbish. We simply can't be playing Forshaw/JRC/Buckley from the start until Sonny comes back. The rumours of us being interested in signing O'Brien seem very plausible and he would be a cracking signing. I think he would come here but can we afford his wages.
  13. Not been good enough. Game changed when Tronstad went off. Forshaw offers nothing.
  14. It feels like we've really gone old school with how we're approaching transfers. Eustace is very much in control of who we are targeting, no doubt about that. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, but also probably why Park left. Given what Eustace has done so far with us, give him all the control he wants. He clearly knows what he's doing.
  15. A fantastic result last night and dare I say the performance of a promotion chasing team. We didn't play particularly well or ever get out of first gear...yet we won 3-0. Subs changed the game and we just had that little but more quality than them. We got lucky as it was a definite penalty for them. I still would have fancied us to go onto win though. What a strange player Gueye is. He played like prime Drogba when he came on yesterday.
  16. Are there better options though that we can afford and that would join us? We're fishing in a very small pond. Cannon should be the one we're pushing the boat out for but we've got about two penny's to spend as per.
  17. Bamford would be a massive upgrade on our current striking options so I'd welcome him here. His injury record is appalling but if we could get a good half a season out of him then it could be a very smart move.
  18. Spot on. The expectation levels have been lowered so much by the current regime that some think Sanderson and Forshaw are OK signings. Constant downgrading of the squad and these are two more examples of that. The miracles Eustace is performing is papering over the cracks of a really poor squad that has no assets left and we've sold our best players and didn't re-invest a penny.
  19. Sanderson and Forshaw. Is that really good enough? Cover players but deary me. We're supposedly pushing for top 6 and bring in a player who can't get in a lge 1 team and a player who can't get in a team bottom of the championship. That really is not good enough for a club that's sold Wharton and Sammie for big money.
  20. Forshaw. Cheap and cheerful so that one will happen. Constant downgrading of the squad every window. Baker wasn't great but we've even downgraded further with Forshaw. I guess we've come to expect it now.
  21. Huddersfield are spending £3m on a player. Baffling how lge 1 clubs show more ambition and financial muscle in the transfer market than we do.
  22. Didn't think Baker added much. JRC needs to be in the middle until Trav gets back. We almost certainly now need to bring in cover in CM.
