  1. Stoke are another joke club. Their transfer policy is way off. Can't imagine their fans are too pleased with signing Ennis. Also, reading up about our new loan signing from Liverpool and it appears our transfer wizard GB has pulled off another coup: "Maybe he's got better #Rovers fans. It's been a year after all. But Billy Koumetio is the worst defender I've ever seen at @FKAustriaWien. He was just calamitous and a disaster waitin to happen. In a Championship relegation battle, he could lose you games. #FAKL"
  2. Dismal deadline day so far and a dismal window overall. Add that to dismal window in the summer and it's no surprise that our league position is rapidly on the decline. Hull are the big winners in the Jan market. We were streets ahead of them last season so it just shows what a decent owner can do for a club. And we're a great example of what a terrible owner can do for a club.
  3. Probably. Just read the LT story and Elliot essentially says he has no idea if McGuire is joining or not 😆
  4. So the rumours look like they've potentially been exaggerated. It looked like the Wharton deal may be off last night and that's why we pulled the plug on cash signings. Wharton deal back on though.
  5. What a joke these owners are. The rumours of them pulling the plug on all deals better not be true.
  6. He's hoping it will be back on. I.e. If someone else tweets that the deal is happening, he will coincidentally have received a text message telling him the same thing...
  7. Some reputable links to a couple of good players. Will we do our usual and flop at the last hurdle and miss out on these players or can we actually get them done this time. I know which scenario is more likely!
  8. Kyle signs and I think it's a clever signing on a short term deal. We are a soft touch and don't do the basics well enough, so it's good to add someone who does the ugly side of the game very well. We've become very unbalanced with too many 'artists'.
  9. We're miles off the top 6 this season in reality. Staying up is the priority. I suspect we're selling him now rather than the summer to help with running costs given all the uncertainty around when Venkys can send across money.
  10. Diaz, Rhodes, Gally, Hyam, Szmodics, Armstrong...none of them were cheap.
  11. 💯 If we were pushing for promotion like last year then it would have been mad not to give it a proper go in Jan. Sadly our season is dead and buried.
  12. Do I think some of the Wharton money will be spent in the summer? Yes, absolutely.
  13. I did post yesterday that we shouldn't be splashing the Wharton cash in Jan. Its a terrible window and awful value. Our season is pretty much over. We need to plug a few gaps to ensure we don't get relegated (hence the 37 year old defender) and then rebuild in the summer. That is the sensible approach. We only have one shot at getting it right. We cannot waste this money.
  14. Decent signing. We are crying out for a leader back there and someone who can do the basics well. He is perfect for that role.
  15. Nat Phillips chooses Cardiff and Sheff W have gazumped our bid for the US guy. The clock is ticking and it feels like a familiar script to previous Jan windows.
  16. 100% agree. If we get it right with how we invest the money then we could be looking back at today as a very pivotal today. Whether I have faith in us spending the money well is a completely different matter. What I do know is that we are currently on an 18 month trajectory towards league one unless we change course and invest some money in the transfer market next summer.

  18. Adam is leaving to join a premier league club, probably tripling his wages overnight, and we've made 20m+. I don't see that as being forced out at all. Has Adam kicked up a fuss and asked to leave? No, of course not. But that doesn't mean he's been forced out by any means.
  19. True, but this means we have the money in the bank and can hit the ground running in the transfer market in the summer. It gives us some certainly of what our summer budget may be. We, of course, won't invest all of that but I know it means we will be doing better than the likes of Telalovic in the next window.
  20. Nonsense. There's a lot wrong with the club but this has to be seen as a huge success for the club. We've always sold our beat players and most clubs do. What is important now is that we spend it wisely. We finally no longer have to shop in the market of the likes of Ennis or Telalovic. This is a big day for the club.
  21. I hope that we don't invest too much money in this window from the Wharton sale. Its a terrible window to do business in. This is the biggest chance we've had to properly to get some quality in so rushing that process with 2 days to go would be unwise. Realistically, this season has gone for us. We just need to make sure we stay up, which we will. We then need to have a proper go at in the summer window. I'd focus on loan deals to plug the gaps for now and then re-set in the summer. The US guy would be the exception as I think he's been on our radar for a while, so he's not a panic signing.
  22. I would imagine it's 18m + 4m guaranteed add ons + sell on fee. If so, that's too good to turn down for someone I see as a luxury player at this level. Losing someone like Sammie will be a far bigger blow when he goes to the prem in the summer. It's obviously much harder to replace 20+ goals than a silky midfielder. Excited but also terrified to see how we spend the money. I am getting O'Brien flashbacks... This is the model though that will give us a fighting chance of getting back to the prem. One of our own going to the prem for £20m+ should be celebrated all round.
  23. Good luck to Adam. He's a top player and you can't turn down the prem. We need the money desperately to freshen up the squad.
