  1. He's very pragmatic who focuses on getting the basics right and then evolving the playing style from there. If you speak to Brum fans, they will tell you he started by getting the defensive side of the game right and being strong at set pieces. That's 💯 the right thing to do. Compare that to JDT, we are the worst team in the league at defending set pieces, cannot do the basics at all, and are way too open. Yet JDT continues trying to play champagne football. Our two best managers of recent times - Hughes and Allardyce - they have both followed the same blueprint of making us us solid first. Eustace came into an extremely poor Birmingham side in his first season who were strongly tripped for relegation and kept them up easily. He had some money to spend in the summer and they signed well, with a focus on exciting wingers. We desperately need those kind of players too. He had them in 6th place and should never have been sacked. Eustace also knows the championship far better than JDT and understands what it takes to get out of a relegation scrap. All in all, a big upgrade for me.
  2. Eustace would be an upgrade on JDT in my opinion. Hope its true. l thought we'd go for a Scandinavian no mark.
  3. Pretty sure it won't be Rowett. His style of football is very poor.
  4. I know the people running the club are dreadful but one win in 11 league matches and five points from our last 33 available is absolutely dire. The goals against column is truly awful as well. He needs to go and he will do within the next 24 hours. Writing was on the wall last week when he was banned from speaking the the media.
  5. We desperately need a change in the dugout so I'm pleased to see JDT's time is coming to an end. It's not worked out this season at all. The style of play is completely ineffective and the defensive side of our game is a complete shambles. We will go down if he remains in charge. I actually think with the right tools at his disposal he is a very good coach. He'd be sensational at a Leeds or Leicester, where they have top attacking talent. You cannot play that way with the likes of Gally, Moran, and Siggy though. It doesn't change the fundamental problems at the club though and the thing I have loved about JDT is his honestly and calling out the incompetence behind the scenes. I'll always be a fan of him for that alone.
  6. Two may be gone but they will be replaced by people equally as incompetent. Venkys don't employ competent people.
  7. Surely Gregg has no choice but to resign if the Dunc deal does not go through. You cannot come out in the press a year ago and say you take full responsibility and new measures are in place to ensure that doesn't happen again...and then a year later the same thing happens again. This year is even worse as we actually announced the signing. Talk of of a pre-contract being done if it doesn't get ratified now. That seems a long way off though with the very real prospect that we may be in league 1 next season.
  8. The fixture list is irrelevant when we are this bad. Rotherham, Huddersfield, QPR were all games you'd think on paper we'd do OK in but we didn't. A manager that sticks to champagne football and has got no idea how to set a team up properly. He's useless. I genuinely can't see us getting enough wins unless we bring in a new manager and see that new manager bounce.
  9. We're probably in as big a mess now as we were when we were last relegated to league one, if not worse. We've seemingly missed out on signing Dunc in similar circumstances to how we missed out on signing O'Brien last year; we have a manager who is out of his depth in my opinion, just look at our goals against column and that will tell you why I think that; there are question marks over the extent of Szmodics' injury; an exec board who are not up to the job as they've proved time and time again; and owners who are terrible beyond belief. I am now of the mindset that I expect us to go down as there are so many fundamental problems at the club. It's not just about a bad run of form. The only hope is that Stoke seem in as big a mess as we are and we do have a game in hand on QPR. I don't see how we put enough wins together to get out of it though. We are shockingly bad.
  10. We are in dire straits on and off the pitch. We are going down this season. Sad to see what is happening.
  11. We have to have a change. Need a new manager to give us a chance of staying up.
  12. We are unbelievably bad. I never thought there was a chance we would get relegated this season but now I'd say it's more likely than unlikely.
  13. I'd take a draw right now. We are that bad. That feels unlikely with what we've seen so far.
  14. Utterly embarrassing. QPR are dreadful but all they have to do is lump it forward and Armstrong is in on goal everytime. We are very lucky not to have conceded. Moran and Siggy are dreadful players and need to come off. Trondstad and Wharton been very good. We need to change shape at HT. No idea how JDT is still in a job tbh. Hopefully it's already been decided he leaves after this game regardless of the result.
  15. A club doesn't ban their Head Coach from speaking to the media unless that person is on their way out. It will be announced pretty quickly after the game I would imagine. The defensive record has been shocking and the results have been incredibly poor this season so he's been lucky not to have been potted earlier. Still, I dread to think who we appoint next. They'll be a puppet.
  16. He'd be excellent. JDT has been poor this season imo so I'm not too disappointed that he's going. The circumstances around why he's going and the general state of the club is very worrying though.
  17. JDT to leave after the QPR game must be pretty short odds. It's not worked our for him this season and hes probably become too outspoken for the boards liking. He'll go on to today very good things if/when he manages a club with far better plays than we have. We're a shambles right now.
  18. Happy with Dunc signing but the overall feeling about this window is disappointment and concern. We're no doubt weaker on the 1st Feb than we were on the 1st Jan. Super Sammi will mean we most likely won't go down this season, but the downward trajectory we're on is alarming. The midfield area looks very weak. If Tronstad gets injured then we are in trouble. Got no one in there that can make a tackle if he's missing. Garret is a liability right now, he's talented but not ready to start regular. Ayari looks talented but too lightweight. JRC is a good CM but struggles to stay fit.
  19. Stoke are another joke club. Their transfer policy is way off. Can't imagine their fans are too pleased with signing Ennis. Also, reading up about our new loan signing from Liverpool and it appears our transfer wizard GB has pulled off another coup: "Maybe he's got better #Rovers fans. It's been a year after all. But Billy Koumetio is the worst defender I've ever seen at @FKAustriaWien. He was just calamitous and a disaster waitin to happen. In a Championship relegation battle, he could lose you games. #FAKL"
  20. Dismal deadline day so far and a dismal window overall. Add that to dismal window in the summer and it's no surprise that our league position is rapidly on the decline. Hull are the big winners in the Jan market. We were streets ahead of them last season so it just shows what a decent owner can do for a club. And we're a great example of what a terrible owner can do for a club.
