  1. Not one poster thinks that!!
  2. We got him because Coventry urgently needed cash at the start of the season They approached us! I don't think the rest compare.
  3. I don't want it to happen, I'm merely telling you how I'd react if it did. Others maybe won't.
  4. AFC Wimbledon was composed by original fans of the club who refused to let it die, so there's another compelling example. If you're relying on legal status then Rangers is a brand new club. and all its historic achievements died with it But its all about the heart and, as far as Rangers fans are concerned, its a new chapter in the history of a famous old club. That's exactly how I'd see it if it happened to Rovers. If others see it differently,I don't mind!
  5. I'd expect the insults to flow either way because it would mean one club had gone into liquidation! Wouldn't change my stance on this in any way though. I'd be listening to me not Burnley fans!
  6. Very fair and articulate article from the LT here. Can't disagree with any of it. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23223021.blackburn-rovers-still-needing-pass-eye-test-2023/
  7. The ref was odd yesterday. Ignored quite a few tackles I thought were fouls. I suppose that's better than stop-start but the difference between Championship refereeing and Premier League is quite stark. Why? there's no different rule-book is there?
  8. You could say exactly the same about Rangers but how many Rangers fans do? If we play at Ewood Park (or even if we don't), wear blue and white halves and the words "Blackburn "and "Rovers" are in there then that's my team and that's all there is about it. Legal and technical details won't matter to me.
  9. Yep, we can all see it!
  10. Yes, I think Burnley maybe or Sheff Utd could do with him. Its only fair!
  11. 3 points from the last 15 is more pertinent.
  12. So are a number of clubs we've lost to! Could it be that we are shite?
  13. It does seem a very odd way to treat him. How did JDT expect him to react then? I thought the idea of a project was to build rather than destroy.
  14. We don't seem to have a recognisable system. We create few chances. We spend most of our time hoping that something will turn up.
  15. The problem is Gav, we are "old" Rovers supporters, brought up to it from birth. Who's going to take our place? How will we attract new supporters with this acceptance of mediocrity?
  16. He only has to remember as far back as last season! Not very difficult.
  17. This. What we expect is, whatever the state of finances etc the manager"s job, first and foremost, is to get the best out of his squad. Who can honesty say JDT is getting the best out of our's? Some stability would help.
  18. By charging less!
  19. I'm trying hard to put disappointment on hold. Its difficult right now especially when we've been in the top 6 for months. I don't think we will remain there, I certainly don't expect us to go further. Its just that JDT came in late ( Venky standard procedure), he didn't have much chance to influence the summer transfer window and we lost 6 1st team players who weren't fully replaced either in terms of numbers or quality. So I'll give him the January window and the July 23 window and make my mind up then, after the first few games. I'm certainly not prepared to go on another journey with no end in sight. And I am sick of the constant tinkering, without much logic to it that I can see. Promotion remains a dream and a long way away.
  20. You have clubs at the top who sell out every home game and have a several years waiting list for a season ticket. They will be the clubs who benefit from this and the gap will just get greater.
  21. I really hope this doesn't happen. Its fools gold, football without reasonable crowds is a dull spectacle. No fun at all.
  22. We've sen references to Rovers being a Jekyll and Hyde club---great one week, terrible the next. I think that term applies more appropriately to JDT. One game, I'll think "such a relief to have a real manager at last, he got that absolutely right". Next game, I'll think,"what a dolloper, how did he pick that side? Hopeless."
  23. Same. Looking at the team before the game I really didn't expect to come away with anything. We weren't all that bad, had a good spell ether side of half-time and conceded 2 late goals. But they called the shots for most of the game, Had Dolan got a deserved free their second goal wouldn't have counted but I'n clutching at straws. They were too good for that side we picked. All good experience for them. Pity we threw Dolan on and he got an injury. Expecting a different team and a different performance next up.
