  1. I suppose Venkys could close down the club and sell everything off to reduce the debt they've incurred (or have created) but seems unlikely. It seems they don't expect the club to pay off the debt, regard it as their debt and aren't particularly bothered about it. Not true of Burnley's owners but promotion will solve that if they can then stay up. One set of owners seem quite venal but competent, the other willing to take the financial hit but utterly incompetent. Which would we prefer if we had a choice?
  2. We tried and failed---history of this.
  3. The bottom line is that we thought the minimum we needed in this transfer window was a striker and a mid-field enforcer. Since we didn't get either, and didn't even come close to getting a striker as far as I can see, this window represents total failure. In terms of manpower and morale among the squad and the supporters, it scuppers any chance we had of finishing in the Top 6. Its a really big blow which can't be explained away.
  4. In the closing hours of a transfer window where we had only managed to get a winger on loan thus far I'd have expected those responsible for transfers to be at the coal-face.
  5. If anyone wants to contact Waggot directly and tell him exactly what they think of this fiasco, his email is: Sw4gg0tt@rovers.co.uk
  6. Well here's that post in the LT I referred to earlier and finally found (part of it anyway) Plant or Plank----you decide!!: Damned if they do, and damned if they dont. It sounds like we made an all out, last ditch attempt to pull off what would have been a couple of very ambitious pieces of business which may yet come to fruition. Reading these and earlier comments, the board must be wondering why they even bother to try to give the fans what they want. Such ingratitude is purely disrespectful. !
  7. Ask him if he's ever confronted the fear that the jobs too big for him!
  8. EFL will not want to set a precedent, otherwise there won't be a Transfer Window anymore, just transfers without limit. We had all the notice everyone else had and we stuffed up--- twice! Reading the Club statement I'm struck by how flimsy it sounds. Every transfer has legal, financial, teachical issues, ours are no different. Other clubs maybe have better staff who can meet deadlines.... Anyone else assuming we have no chance?
  9. They needn't worry!
  10. But I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. OK Len?
  11. A happy clapper will be saying this isn't the Club's fault! In fact there's a post on the LT site calling fans "ungrateful" for criticising the staff who've stuffed this up. They worked night and day to pull his transfer off and all they get is hostility! He concluded that Rovers staff will be wondering why they bother! PS---was going to paste that post but it isn't there anymore!
  12. Ever since Venkys bought the Club, we've been winging it. Everything left to the last minute. It was bound to bite us on the bum eventually.
  13. This shambles has exposed the chaos at the heart of our club like no single episode in the last few years. If we can't get even the clerical work right with the potential to wreck the Transfer Window and, indeed, the season, what chance have we got of ever being a viable club again? This is down to Venkys. They own the club but apparently it leave to others they've appointed to carry out the day to day responsibilities but where is the accountability? Make no mistake, heads should roll over this fiasco. There is simply no tenable excuse. I'm not holding my breath, I wonder if Venkys will even know or care. Utterly sickening, why do we bother?
  14. Not always but too often. Would you try to argue we are a well-run Club? From Football League World: Even if those deals for O’Brien and Brierley are completed, the fact both players are midfielders means the window will close, without Blackburn signing a centre forward. That means that since the departure of then top scorer Adam Armstrong in the summer of 2021, Blackburn have signed just one senior forward, in the form of the aforementioned and now departed Hirst, who failed to make an impact during his stint at Ewood Park.
  15. Because he wishes things could be different?
  16. Never is with some on here.
  17. Womething positive would be nice! Not expecting it.
  18. Well he's got us in to the last sixteen. Mowbray couldn't manage that in 5 seasons!
  19. Hang on to those straws mate.
  20. Still haven't found a highlights video!
  21. Yep. The only hope we have is that Brereton pulls his finger out, recovers his scoring form and doesn't get injured. That is a possibility I suppose......
  22. A rare opportunity to big myself up! 😂
  23. More a scumbag.
