  1. TBF Brereton gives his all every game and always has. Not very productive in recent times of course but we were saying much the same about Gally not that long ago!
  2. But don't let his contract run down Rovers!
  3. I don't remember any discussion on this but there were a lot of posts and I was skimming, but----how on earth did Mendy escape a red card? Ref saw it but gave a yellow! Utterly incredible. Mandy kicked out at Travis when the ball wasn't in play and the two were walking side by side. One of the worst decisions I've ever seen.
  4. The money our Club chucks away.....the "Brentford" model in reverse.
  5. We miss a lot of sitters. Armstrong wouldn't. However I don't feel strongly about it and going back usually doesn't work.
  6. You may be right but I can't see another Premier League club going for him so I'm sure his wages will take a hit somewhere along the line.
  7. The most heartening feature of the game was the composed defence playing slick, first-touch passes out of defence without causing the chaos Leicester did when they tried it (repeatedly!). Somehow over the last few weeks we seem to have come a long way. Commentators thought we looked Premier League already!
  8. The topic is priorities for the summer and, so far as as I'm concerned they haven't changed---a central striker (or 2 if BDD goes) and a central mid-fielder the likes of O'Brien. I wouldn't mind keeping Thomas on the basis of what we've seen so far. Anything else is a bonus. I don't want us failing to get our key targets and then signing players for other positions as a sop for the fans. Given that the Wharton's, Carter, JRC and all the rest will be one year older with valuable experience, I think we would have a very good season. PS I'm assuming we're in the Championship next year but if we're not, its a totally different situation. How the Club would handle that is the stuff of nightmares!
  9. We got a fair fee for Jones but N"Zonzi???? What a cock-up.
  10. My favourite Newton trick was when he used to take the ball with a sliding tackle, then stood up and carried on going forward with the ball he'd just won. Meanwhile the forlorn attacker was still on the deck! He did this over and over again. Lesser full-backs gave away a throw-in, he somehow kept the ball close to him.
  11. I think we should put in a cheeky bid for him at the end of the season. He'll want to revive his career and Southampton will surely want to get rid. I think JDT could get the best out of him as in "playing for the team".
  12. An average manager who did an average job?
  13. You've put "legal". You're acknowledging it isn't a legal case (so far). Its a football tribunal!
  14. Nothing. But I'm assuming he still wants to come here. Some spokesman (Waggot?) said he still did.
  15. That would be up to us.
  16. I said "No other team did it" which is true. I'm referring specifically to the Jan Transfer Window. You've said "Lots of other teams have done it." which is different.
  17. I thought we didn't. Made some sort of pledge about looking after him and a suggestion of him coming to us next season
  18. I'm assuming that, since the EFL ruled that the transfer couldn't go ahead, then O'Brien remains a Forest player and subject to their contract with him. Any contract we had would have been nullified by the EFL's decision. If we have to pay him then we can play him, he'd be our player!
  19. Its an utter embarrassment. No other team did it but we did it twice. You just can't get around that.
  20. I'd like to think we'll avoid dealing on the last day after this disaster, but I doubt it.
  21. Just hope we don't get City away. Deserve a home draw.
  22. Disgrace. A good cup-run was always great for morale and 5 years of middling nothing. Forgotten what it was like till last night.
  23. Ok I'll bite. After a game like that, the MB always comes together. Why would anyone want to be negative after a game like that? But you don't want that do you? I could ask what about those usual suspects who, when some of us wanted rid of Mowbray, always bleated "but who would we get who would be better?" But it would be inappropriate at this time don't you think?
