  1. Yep---£100M to finish bottom plus 3 years parachute money.
  2. !969---freezing cold? I took my the fiancé to that game. The swaying on the Riverside terrace that night was frightening. She stood against the barrier and I stood behind her with both arms on the barrier, stiff as ramrods to protect her. Rather gallant I thought! Anyhow it worked!.
  3. Who's turning it into an expectation? I was expressing a hope!
  4. Do you think so? Plenty of women attend our matches, surely some of them are married. More and more Asians are following Rovers but virtually none of them are women. I was merely expressing the hope that that changes with time and whole families are mad about us. What's wrong with that?
  5. At the risk of being a bit controversial, "Asian lads" it was and great to see. Be better when they take their wives and girlfriends with them though. I expect that's s few generations away yet.
  6. Seriously mate, hats off to you! Pity you weren't refereeing!
  7. Absolutely brilliant. Brought tears to my eyes, particularly when I saw a bloke with a rattle!
  8. Priorites for summer, a recruiting team who can identify talent early, dedicated officials who can complete the formalities in time and owners who will sanction the transfers and pay the required wages. Oh---and a sensible ticketing strategy! All that and we would soar.
  9. Great that the club's initiatives to build up our support are working. Let's extend it beyond Blackburn's boundaries like we used to. Up to Lancaster as I recall.
  10. Yet no Rovers player appealed for it......
  11. if we keep JDT....what he's doing won't have gone unnoticed.
  12. Yes I was there and that was hotly contested and regarded as an aberration at the time. I didn't care because we'd been denied a better claim earlier. Foul on Douglas I think. Happiest day of my life!
  13. By the time they get round to it Sheff United will have been promoted probably and be solvent again and out of the EFL's jurisdiction.
  14. In today's football "yes a pen". Only a few years ago "no, never". I prefer yesterday--the guy didn't handle it, it hit him. Moreover, it was a harmless mishit from Gallagher which the keeper would have taken with a teaspoon. The real story of that incident was Gallagher's inability to control the ball and smash a sitter in from about 4 yards.
  15. Yes agree, there is absolutely no way we would have beaten City. so I'm not too downhearted either. It was an outstanding performance, one of great credit from players and fans, both gave their all. We played in the most exciting game of the season to a huge TV audience and showed the world we're on our way back.
  16. He put his arm out for balance, he certainly didn't stop a goal! Those are the rules but we'd be pissed off if it were to happen to us. Anyway, I'm delighted, we were under the cosh a bit before that.
  17. Brittain Dolan Wharton A---could all make an impact off the bench. Bit thin after that.
  18. Ha! Heckingbottom worried about VAR! Wonder why? "totally different game" he says! https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united/sheffield-united-boss-sounds-var-warning-ahead-of-return-for-blackburn-cup-tie-4069811
  19. Some honest and interesting comments from Broughton about the January transfer window. Apologies if this has already been posted but I hadn't seen it before. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-transfer-window-plans-26493734
  20. Quite true. When Rovers first won the League it was observed that this was some sort of compensation for losing the Cup Final!
