  1. Leading 2-0 and then one of those stupid fannying around efforts close to our own goal gifted them their chance to get back in the game. Then, with our record of conceding late ones, its all nerves and praying for the final whistle. For God's sake, when in trouble clear your lines and regroup.
  2. Hirst is interesting. He was scoring at Portsmouth before we got him and he's scoring regularly for Ipswich at the top of the League. For us he was utterly useless and didn't score a goal. There has to be some story or other there! So was he a bad signing or a good signing but one that didn't work for us for some reason?
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/food/2023/dec/10/blueberry-pastries-in-warsaw-80p-samosas-in-blackburn-the-best-things-we-ate-in-2023 Not exactly "restaurants" but close! Blueberry pastries in Warsaw, 80p samosas in Blackburn – the best things we ate in 2023
  4. Yes, I don't get this at all. When it's gone wrong, as it often seems to, why doesn't a defender smash it anywhere far away from our goal as possible? In the back row of the stand if necessary so we can regroup. Must be under orders not to. I think this is JDT insisting on the style he wants to inculcate whether we have the players to do it or not. Instead they keep it going and it leads to a chance or a goal. Madness.
  5. What about our defending then? Was dreadful at times. We'll never win any games while we defend like that.
  6. I hope he proves more than his worth!
  7. I'm well aware of that, still a bloody joke though.
  8. Bloody joke. As is our loss of points.
  9. There's one football site that invariably refers to us as the Riversiders. Can't remember its name. Never heard it before this season. Ludicrous that some outsider can decide to rename our club.
  10. Now that belongs on the Optimism Thread!
  11. I know this isn't the Optimism Thread but bloody hell!
  12. And McGinn starred! (sob!)
  13. I read it was £90M but, either way, its a lot of money for not much. They will probably take all before them next season in the championship though!
  14. We're at cross purposes here---the away support is superb, both numerically and in terms of passion.
  15. He'll leave for nothing----Blackburn Rovers, the gift that keeps on giving.
  16. Not numerically though. I agree the passion is still there particularly at away games.
  17. Really bad signing that one from Mowbray. Paid way too much for him and he's never fit for long. I suspect he'll walk for nothing as is our usual practice.
  18. Can't see us getting anything out of this one but we are quite capable of pulling a rabbit out of the hat when we least expect it.
  19. It sounds like we are going to experience more of the same for years to come. Limping along on a shoestring, charging prices locals can't or won't pay and seeing the goal of Premier league football as elusive as ever (that's our goal of course, not theirs.)
  20. for the moment Abbey!!
  21. Good to know.
  22. At this point we should have been looking to fit Ash Philips in! Makes you sick eh?
