He really is a bellend then because they won't!.

I read $150 M (US) Jim.

Surely we must have people who can get the best out of him? I agree he has the talent.
-
We aren't afraid to go long when we have to and we don't really overplay and take unnecessary risks. I'm assuming Arbitro thinks we could learn from this as well!
-
Yes! Odd that he wasn't picked! (I may've said that before!)
-
Minimal possession and a long ball to Brereton is our style isn't it? At least it is when we win. And I like it!

After 3 days of "reflection" it doesn't get any better does it? I'll never smile again! -
His job is also not to lose them.

And there is no sign of recognition ,accountability, acceptance or responsibility. Constant references to "young players" is classic deflection--its the players fault because they are not old enough! If they are not old enough, well pick someone else or change the tactics. But then that brings up Ayala---a consistent theme on here that, when fit, he was the best centre-back in the Championship. But no-one's saying that anymore--he like several others, is paying the price for a stubborn manager who refuses to play to his players" strengths but instead insists on a style they are not adapting to. Stubborn manager, players out of position, poor selections, and no responsibility---now where have we come across that before?!! The least he owed the fans on Sunday was an apology---"its not the players fault,I got it wrong" would have done. Instead he went on about the fact we've got a long break now due to the World Cup and its "back to the training ground". In other words, a longer opportunity to inculcate his players to a system which doesn't work! This could all fall apart quickly, we were a disgrace on Sunday. -
The team that played West Ham reserves was an entirely new 11 (11 changes) so although it was good that Mola did well there Sunday was his turn to rest. If we're going to reward those who did well in that game then some of the original eleven haven't been rested--they've been dropped! Not to pick the Whartons was tantamount to punishment given what we know that match meant to them. Why?

Let's not forget the Burnley game either eh? It wasn't the squad who made the mistakes that cost us, it was the man who picked it. -
Its as if Sunday never happened! 😭

The evidence is they are not being. Remember that debacle between Ayala and Kiminski in the first half where a free kick for us ended up with Ayala, ball at his feet on the wing, facing the Rovers fans in the stand, on the touchline and pressured by a Burnley player? Think they got a corner out of that but can't remember! I know they got possession. Must have been under strict instructions not to blast it upfield. Why? just stupid and it happened a lot. We hadn't any creative players. When Gallacher needed to go off, I was quite pleased to see Dolan ready to come on. At least he can hold the ball, get fouled, do something but no! Manager changed his mind at the last second and brought on Vale! Just what we needed--not! -

Bad enough that its already Men v Boys but JDT has to go and choose the wrong boys!! Moreover the Whartons were rested mid-week!! But he didn't play them anyway, played Mola and Garret who weren't rested! Left the Wharton brothers sitting out the game they've looked forward to playing in all their life! You really couldn't make it up. Does he want them to leave or something? Add that suicidal tapping it about at the very back allowing Burnley to press higher up and we were done. Humiliating, disgraceful loss which is on JDT"s head. For the first time I'm wondering how long will he be here? Can he turn it around? This won't be easily forgotten or forgiven and shouldn't be. -

We were a pretty ragged outfit today, set up primarily to stop them scoring and left without much in the way of attacking options. It was painful to watch, League One stuff really, apart from repeated ridiculous short passing at the back which always looked like it could come undone. A sad day for us but we'll be back, hopefully trying to play a bit more football and create something. And Travis, please wake up and stop getting needlessly booked. -

Suddenly we seem to have centre-backs by the dozen! Defenders have come! -
David Raya - Spanish international

You're posting on Raya on 2 threads! On the Dingle thread you argued we had to sell him to meet FFP demands! -

I always offer an alternative viewpoint, Its usually the opposite of your's. Good old FFP eh---what would you do without it? "A deal that was right at the time"--no it bloody wasn't--we didn't have a replacement!! For some reason you keep missing that bit! Too cheap. Another player mishandled by Mowbray. Terrible mess all round. -

Well since your'e calling me "daft" I'll reply in kind. Your views on Rovers are generally crap and revolve around trying to justify every decision the Club makes. We sold Raya at exactly the wrong time and got way less than we knew he would be worth. Worst of all we had no replacement! 2 daft decisions in one! Don't worry, he will! -

Utter rubbish. No-one could actually"know" just like no-one could have known if he'd ben seriously injured the first game he played for Brentford. So you've covered yourself there. Most forecast he'd do exactly what he has done however. Also, most blamed Mowbray for the way he treated him. and they were absolutely right. You don't single out a young keeper for criticism on several occasions and then expect to improve him and/or retain his loyalty. That's why we got a paltry sum for him, he left before he could be worth big money. -
Fair enough but our promotion chances would be much reduced. Unless we managed to sign a replacement of equal ability, of course,---which seems unlikely to me.
-
Hard to imagine we would not be seriously weakened if he left.
