  1. Elliott in the stand---great to see. Wonder if he was running the rule over Morton for Klopp? (as well as enjoying himself of course).
  2. Very fair statement from you. Had so much of the ball in our half after the break but you didn't do anything much with it. No real clear chances except one where Kaminski made another great reflex save. Warning, Mowbray will bore you to death, you're better off with a season-ticket to the dentist.
  3. As someone already said, Wharton tried to duck back onside just before the free-kick was taken and the defender deliberately pushed him back. So no problem for me. The penalty--- made a meal of it for a start. There definitely was contact but after the ball was touched---a follow-through if you like. Given more often than not though.
  4. So it depends on the age then and the size of the fee. You'll say anything to defend this club. Joke. Praise them when they do something good, criticise when they stuff up. That's normal.
  5. Oh come off it! That's an example of a club demoted from the Premier league! Pathetic.
  6. Yeah, well said. We shouldn't have bothered securing Philips either because he cost us nowt!
  7. OK I'll pay that one but its unusual is it not? Broughton didn't speak highly of it and we have moved to secure wanted players since.
  8. Which Championship club lost 3 regular players last summer?
  9. Div 2/1969-70 season---0-0 draw at The Valley. Nothing happened all afternoon.
  10. Its too late for us to come out of this well.
  11. but but but--- they were all worth something! Tell me which other Championship let 3 regulars go for nothing! its nothing to do with whether we adequately replaced them or not.
  12. I'm sure this has been discussed earlier but that save from Kaminski! Can't get over it. Their player was so close to Kaminski that it just doesn't seem possible for him to get a strong hand on it in the fraction of a second he had. One of the best I have ever seen at any level. Sobering to think we'd have come away with a draw without it. We really must take more of our chances.
  13. I think that one has gone don't you? He may go in Jan and we get something or he may go in the summer and we get nothing.
  14. I'm not going to waste any more time on you. All the points have been made before. When have you ever had any criticism to make of the Club? Ever? Supporters aren't people who just suck up any old crap, they want their club to be the best it can be. That's positive not negative. Anyway seems like you disagree with Broughton so square off that circle!
  15. I have always said Gallacher was never worth the £5M repaid for him at that time but I have also always said there's a footballer in there somewhere. That goal yesterday showed what can do. His progress has been hampered by constantly being played out of position. He's a central striker and he should play there or not play at all. And I agree that he'll score 10-15 goals a season if he plays there regularly. As for his heading, he has done well but he's very inconsistent with it and not as good as you'd expect from his height and strength.
  16. Well Broughton himself has made reference to this episode and vowed the Club will henceforth do better! And , of course, all 3 made their own decisions Sherlock.
  17. I'm not so much moaning about it as criticising those who think it was all OK because we signed better replacements!!
  18. Could you leave your personal life out of it?!!
  19. I think you and others are forgetting the crucial point----mismanagement meant that all 3 of our wantaways went for NOTHING! We could have used the money we got for them to buy the better replacements leaving us cash to invest elsewhere in the squad. Then we would truly have been laughing.
  20. I think EPL clubs may well have been put off by the example of Armstrong. Success in the Championship doesn't necessarily translate to the next rung up. I agree Brereton is better than Armstrong by the way.
  21. Then you should have written "seemed". I'd welcome him back. Informed and funny ( on football that is).
  22. Exactly---how can he prove his fitness if he doesn't play? the only evidence would be training which, tbf we don't see.
  23. Yep--would be very confident Rotherham couldn't live with that.
  24. I don't usually blame the refs but we were short-changed by them in that game and the subsequent game against City. We were in total control of that game against Leeds but only scored the one. However we had the clearest penalty I'ver ever seen disallowed late on in the second half. Obvious foul on Shearer. Even Leeds fans around me thought so. And the City game was a farce culminating in a ridiculous penalty for City that never was. I've never got over that because it stopped me seeing the title won at home against Newcastle. Having to survive Milosko's heroics for West Ham and watching Cole's misses meant we won the title but t wasn't the same. I couldn't go to the Liverpool game. 😬
