  1. You absolutely know that I was talking about why we were signing him. On your basis we could sign anybody!
  2. There is nobody, absolutely nobody who won't give him a chance and won't be delighted if it comes off. What's crazy is people on here who can't resist a swipe at their fellow fans over and over again.
  3. It could be that Brereton is exercising his right no to go? Unusual if so.
  4. 30 games for Rotherham in the Championship 2020-21----no goals and no assists. Ok I take the point, we have him, if he's no good we send him back. But surely we can do better than this? And how does £5M remotely come into it? Last from me on this, wish him well, its not his fault
  5. He did OK but not £5Ms worth. Anyway, this deal is done, I hope the lad turns out well and we pay a bargain fee of £5M to get him. But you can surely understand my scepticism after all we've been through.
  6. Well maybe I've got this wrong. I was under the impression we had him on loan and he went back to Southampton and we pursued him to return from there. A lot of people said at the time that he was never worth £5M, me among them. Have I got that wrong?
  7. Gallagher--he didn't do well and we signed him anyway.
  8. "if" he does that well then he's worth what Armstrong and Brereton are/were valued at and we've done well But the key word is "if". Like Gallagher you mean?l
  9. Dead right! Deluded Chaddy! Its the opposite thats the case. Performs and he either goes back to Leicester or they sell him to someone who can afford him! Fails to perform and we pay his wages for nothing. Its literally lose-lose!! And next season we have to solve the problem of a striker all over again. Its literally just putting off the problem for another year.WE've been doing that for years now. The only way we can win out of it this is if he is so key to our squad that we get promoted! What are the chances?
  10. Tbf, the views on here on Mowbray are not representative of Rovers fans overall. For some reason most are generally more appreciative of what Mowbray did here. So, if that cheers you up---great!
  11. From what I read, Hirst is a done deal and he has a medical tomorrow.
  12. No idea who this guy is, simply picked it up off NewsNow. He's saying Breton wants help us to promotion and then leave. Then he should agree to a new contract with a release clause you'd think. http://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-make-new-better-offer-player-idea-seduces-belief-transfer-unlikely/
  13. Its your turn to suffer I'm afraid. Plead with your club to have him on an annual contract. Don't bother going from January onwards.
  14. I think Jack missed a trick here. The revolution he started took the game away from the local fan hero who made good and bought his local club. Happened at Wolves, happened at Newcastle. While he was alive he should have formed a consortium of wealthy individuals to keep the club on track after he'd gone. That could have been self-sustaining. He stuck with family ownership but they were only interested in in selling
  15. There are more ways to increase revenue than simply sell tickets. The "Ewood experience" has been the subject of many posts over the years and there are many aspects to that. Not pissing off your own fans for a start. Glen Mullen has made several posts abut sponsorship opportunities that the Club hasn't followed up. But, in the end, you have to admit that clubs with similar attendances to us have made it to the big league.
  16. And would the squad be stronger or weaker than last season?
  17. Well I tend to copy ideas that work. You?
  18. Almost can't be bothered but NO------as I said, like Burnley and Brentford did.
  19. How much Venkys are prepared to spend is irrelevant then? There is no impediment to them keeping the stadium up to scratch but they neglect it so why conclude that its just FFP that prevents them spending money on improving the squad? See the connection?
  20. Which stops them painting the stadium and fixing the rust? Poor old Venkys! They were set to finance us back to the Premier League but FFP arrived and any ambition had to stop! Brentford, Burnley both made it there without infringing FFP.
  21. As usual, concern that we've lost 12 players but signed 4 is the equivalent of "losing your head"! Isn't it the Club that's" short-sighted"? It quite likely that we'll finish mid-table as usual but that will equate to failure to build on last season and be a real let-down given the hopes that last season (up to January) created.
