  1. The team that played West Ham reserves was an entirely new 11 (11 changes) so although it was good that Mola did well there Sunday was his turn to rest. If we're going to reward those who did well in that game then some of the original eleven haven't been rested--they've been dropped! Not to pick the Whartons was tantamount to punishment given what we know that match meant to them. Why?
  2. Let's not forget the Burnley game either eh? It wasn't the squad who made the mistakes that cost us, it was the man who picked it.
  3. Its as if Sunday never happened! 😭
  4. You're making far too much of this.
  5. The evidence is they are not being. Remember that debacle between Ayala and Kiminski in the first half where a free kick for us ended up with Ayala, ball at his feet on the wing, facing the Rovers fans in the stand, on the touchline and pressured by a Burnley player? Think they got a corner out of that but can't remember! I know they got possession. Must have been under strict instructions not to blast it upfield. Why? just stupid and it happened a lot. We hadn't any creative players. When Gallacher needed to go off, I was quite pleased to see Dolan ready to come on. At least he can hold the ball, get fouled, do something but no! Manager changed his mind at the last second and brought on Vale! Just what we needed--not!
  6. Bad enough that its already Men v Boys but JDT has to go and choose the wrong boys!! Moreover the Whartons were rested mid-week!! But he didn't play them anyway, played Mola and Garret who weren't rested! Left the Wharton brothers sitting out the game they've looked forward to playing in all their life! You really couldn't make it up. Does he want them to leave or something? Add that suicidal tapping it about at the very back allowing Burnley to press higher up and we were done. Humiliating, disgraceful loss which is on JDT"s head. For the first time I'm wondering how long will he be here? Can he turn it around? This won't be easily forgotten or forgiven and shouldn't be.
  7. We were a pretty ragged outfit today, set up primarily to stop them scoring and left without much in the way of attacking options. It was painful to watch, League One stuff really, apart from repeated ridiculous short passing at the back which always looked like it could come undone. A sad day for us but we'll be back, hopefully trying to play a bit more football and create something. And Travis, please wake up and stop getting needlessly booked.
  8. Suddenly we seem to have centre-backs by the dozen! Defenders have come!
  9. You're posting on Raya on 2 threads! On the Dingle thread you argued we had to sell him to meet FFP demands!
  10. I always offer an alternative viewpoint, Its usually the opposite of your's. Good old FFP eh---what would you do without it? "A deal that was right at the time"--no it bloody wasn't--we didn't have a replacement!! For some reason you keep missing that bit! Too cheap. Another player mishandled by Mowbray. Terrible mess all round.
  11. Well since your'e calling me "daft" I'll reply in kind. Your views on Rovers are generally crap and revolve around trying to justify every decision the Club makes. We sold Raya at exactly the wrong time and got way less than we knew he would be worth. Worst of all we had no replacement! 2 daft decisions in one! Don't worry, he will!
  12. Utter rubbish. No-one could actually"know" just like no-one could have known if he'd ben seriously injured the first game he played for Brentford. So you've covered yourself there. Most forecast he'd do exactly what he has done however. Also, most blamed Mowbray for the way he treated him. and they were absolutely right. You don't single out a young keeper for criticism on several occasions and then expect to improve him and/or retain his loyalty. That's why we got a paltry sum for him, he left before he could be worth big money.
  13. Fair enough but our promotion chances would be much reduced. Unless we managed to sign a replacement of equal ability, of course,---which seems unlikely to me.
  14. Hard to imagine we would not be seriously weakened if he left.
  15. Good interview with both of them on that "tackle" In the book "No,Nay Never."
  16. Brereton is 100% entitled to refuse to go anywhere remember and see out his contract unless an offer comes along that satisfies him. Perhaps he wouldn't fancy a relegation battle with Leeds or Everton. Perhaps he'd prefer Spain. That may well be his position,I wouldn't be surprised.
  17. It was a lot for him for sure but he wasn't in the last 6 months of his contract was he?
  18. 5 boundaries from Butler in his first 7 deliveries!
  19. Couldn't believe the aplomb with which these kids took their penalties. They seemed to have no nerves at all. We've seen lousy penalties from Rovers players over the years. Last night 10 outfield players made it look Easy! Astonishing! Very well drilled I'd guess. Only the very last one of ours was a little bit close.
  20. Whatever happens now, well done Rovers. Very proud.
  21. IF Kaminski got injured in this game, we would go into melt-down on here!
  22. I'm guessing maybe a fair proportion of those 2000 are London-based Rovers supporters? Hats off to anyone who travels down for a game that really is totally over-shadowed by the coming fixture at t'Turd. Great effort as you say.
