We got £15M for him but never saw any of it. If Brereton hadn't come good we would have ben in real strife. No guarantee at all that money for Brereton would be used to strengthen the squad let alone a hypothetical £20M for Philips. Its all at the whim of the owners.

Grow the club--by strengthening links with the community ie the wider community, not just Blackburn, increase attendances by reducing prices---16000 at £x can bring in more than 12000 at £y, improve the "Ewood Experience", get more local sponsorship, Improve communication----there must be other suggestions. Oh and get a CEO capable of doing all this and more.

We've bought players from Crewe, Lincoln, Peterboro, Coventry, Hibs and Barnsley in recent months and added them to young lads from the Academy. This is not a recipe for promotion and to me, indicates no real intent. Whatever the new coach has been promised he'll reach that same conclusion too, probably before his 3 years are up. In the meantime he'll have to park the bus, we're conceding at an alarming rate.

In 4 seasons he only got us in the top half once and never finished in the top 6. Average position 12th and we were. So glad he's gone----some of the most numbing performances ever seen.
