The midfield is still the problem. Needs 3 in there. -

Stability!! -
Performed miracles to get them up and keep them up for as long (and often) as he did.
-
No, there was a big fall-out and Abbey left that site too.
-
I thought it was a "mass" walk-out by Leavers because they felt they were being branded as thick by leftie Remaniers on here.(NB their view not mine) So off they went to found a new site and fall out with themselves! Certainly Abbey did feel that Chaddy was over-protected by the Mods (NB not saying he was but saying that's how he felt).
-
Yeah but we know why he left!
-
Does the new coach rate him? I'd have him at least on the bench every game if fit.. One slide rule pass late on can determine the result but he doesn't even get that opportunity.

Well I've rethought and I think maybe the record shop was next door. It wasn't Nightingales was it? -

County sports! You got your sports gear there as a kid and your 45's when you were a teenager. LP's when you matured. He had you for life! -
Not as if Buckley is in form either. Has not kicked on from last season to my surprise.

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Its not Tugay is it? Joking, but I'm sure he'd have a good eye for talent. -
Whatever did happen to Stuart, who started this thread? A very enthusiastic poster, and a good one, who suddenly disappeared without trace. Anyone know?
-
Raya---We don't mention him much. What a loss. Wonder if there are any sell-on clauses, because he's worth a hell of a lot more than £3.5M now.

I don't think the owners ever said "and by the way Tony you're not allowed to buy any defenders" !!

Not going away then are they? Bugger! I'll never see us in The EPL again. -

Loved it! Seeing those kids sitting over the fence and remembering I used to be one! And what a crowd. -

Ashley Phillips - signs a new deal

It will be very dicey then I imagine. Would help if we got promoted. Its the coaching staff's job to ensure he's a regular and playing at his best by then so we come out of it well either way. A contract with a release clause in the multi-millions would be the best the club could get I'd imagine. Easy to say! -
Ashley Phillips - signs a new deal

Says he wants to sign and it'll be for 3 years. That means we'll be going through this all over again in 2 years time! As for predictive text, I wrote "he wants to sign" and it came out as"he wants tossing"! Spooky eh? -
Good idea!
-
I was there too and we did our usual transfer from the Darwen End to the Blackburn End (unthinkable now) and came head to head with some very nasty characters. What a sweet victory that was! We did it again 1964-5 with Everton, 2-0 down and won 3-2! A latish winner from Duggie. I could only tell we'd scored from the roar of the crowd because the snow was piling down! That was also a fantastic game. Poor fare we're served these days compared to that. EDIT--make that 63-64!

A front line of Brereton,Dolan and Hedges doesn't exactly strike terror into opposition defences does it? We need someone central (and tough) to take these centre-backs on. With Dack just behind him to put him through.
