  1. Yes, I think Burnley maybe or Sheff Utd could do with him. Its only fair!
  2. 3 points from the last 15 is more pertinent.
  3. So are a number of clubs we've lost to! Could it be that we are shite?
  4. It does seem a very odd way to treat him. How did JDT expect him to react then? I thought the idea of a project was to build rather than destroy.
  5. We don't seem to have a recognisable system. We create few chances. We spend most of our time hoping that something will turn up.
  6. The problem is Gav, we are "old" Rovers supporters, brought up to it from birth. Who's going to take our place? How will we attract new supporters with this acceptance of mediocrity?
  7. He only has to remember as far back as last season! Not very difficult.
  8. This. What we expect is, whatever the state of finances etc the manager"s job, first and foremost, is to get the best out of his squad. Who can honesty say JDT is getting the best out of our's? Some stability would help.
  9. By charging less!
  10. I'm trying hard to put disappointment on hold. Its difficult right now especially when we've been in the top 6 for months. I don't think we will remain there, I certainly don't expect us to go further. Its just that JDT came in late ( Venky standard procedure), he didn't have much chance to influence the summer transfer window and we lost 6 1st team players who weren't fully replaced either in terms of numbers or quality. So I'll give him the January window and the July 23 window and make my mind up then, after the first few games. I'm certainly not prepared to go on another journey with no end in sight. And I am sick of the constant tinkering, without much logic to it that I can see. Promotion remains a dream and a long way away.
  11. You have clubs at the top who sell out every home game and have a several years waiting list for a season ticket. They will be the clubs who benefit from this and the gap will just get greater.
  12. I really hope this doesn't happen. Its fools gold, football without reasonable crowds is a dull spectacle. No fun at all.
  13. We've sen references to Rovers being a Jekyll and Hyde club---great one week, terrible the next. I think that term applies more appropriately to JDT. One game, I'll think "such a relief to have a real manager at last, he got that absolutely right". Next game, I'll think,"what a dolloper, how did he pick that side? Hopeless."
  14. Same. Looking at the team before the game I really didn't expect to come away with anything. We weren't all that bad, had a good spell ether side of half-time and conceded 2 late goals. But they called the shots for most of the game, Had Dolan got a deserved free their second goal wouldn't have counted but I'n clutching at straws. They were too good for that side we picked. All good experience for them. Pity we threw Dolan on and he got an injury. Expecting a different team and a different performance next up.
  15. We're going to have to revise our views on Pears?
  16. Don't think that's what you wanted to say is it?
  17. 5 for! youngest test player ever to take 5 wickets on his debut. Pakistan all out 216. Well done Ahmed Rehan! 167 to win.
  18. Ahmed killing 'em. 4 for 44. Not bad for an 18 year old on debut!
  19. Dunno where to put this but FA confirms Southgate to stay on as England manager and will lead the team at the Euros. Opinions?
  20. As I remember he held the ball really low down and gripped it like he was frightened of dropping it. I don't think his style ever changed from when he first played for Lancs.
  21. He certainly did. Best ever.
  22. Ha! Remember him. Haven't heard his name in years. Had a really odd run-up as I recall. Gripped the ball like it was made of china.
  23. Agree with you about Buckley. I"m guessing he's back now for a long spell provided he plays to that standard. Really confident on the ball and we need that in midfield from someone. One unusual thing I noticed, on 3 different occasions we were set up for a final through ball and a clear strike at goal. And on all 3 the passer got the angle right but the ball was so underhit that a defender had time to step in and cut it off. i was wondering if the grass was long or something. That's in addition to another 3 occasions where a player took the shot himself where a colleague was in a much better position and screaming for the ball. Dolan with Diaz late on was one example, can't remember the others.
