  1. Rather than take the piss ( that's the easy bit) tell me who he'll be crossing to? "This place" really can be hilarious eh?
  2. No-one saw this transfer coming so I suppose that's encouraging in a way. We'll have to have a different set-up though to get anything out of him---like a central striker.
  3. So long as there's someone to cross to!
  4. We never do though. Always last minute and not our first choices. Going according to plan.
  5. WE can only sign players that-one else is in for it seems. Whenever anyone else is linked with a player we're after I just give up. I know they'll offer more in wages, even if its Wigan!
  6. Or has he never recovered from being left out of the side to play Burnley?
  7. I'm not sure Burnley care about that. Being a Yo-Yo club means you continue to access parachute payments. You can go down with a fair bit of confidence about coming straight back up. In alternative years, you have a promotion season and a Premier League season so the crowd interest remains high.
  8. Thought the second yellow was harsh, hardly ill-discipline from Ayala.
  9. Have no belief we will get anything out of this game so can't be disappointed!
  10. Really? Its all a matter of luck?
  11. Once again its not just Diaz we have lost/will lose for free is it? Inconvenient to recall the others? Which club has done worse?
  12. I don't remember it that way. I think most of us thought there was little point gettting rid of him at that point because we wouldn't get much if anything for him! As soon as he starts to look more like it, his contact should have been extended, or at least the attempt should have been made. But we don't do quick!
  13. We always knew he would be though? Bad handling of the situation.
  14. I don't want to go over old ground at length. My view is that we haven't handled this situation very well at all in recent seasons. Extensions to players contracts this season is encouraging and an implicit admission that things needed to change. If you don't agree, fair enough.
  15. Worth a read: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/20/sales-stats-and-strategies-how-brighton-and-brentford-stay-one-step-ahead Sales, stats and strategies: how Brighton and Brentford stay one step ahead Karen Carney
  16. Yes let's look at other clubs. Here's 3! Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton! 3 clubs which get it right! And its not just Brereton is it? 3 left for free at the end of last season and we really stuffed up with Raya before that. Take the blinkers off.
  17. Trolling I think! But if you're serious they obviously got it very wrong. Fancy trying to copy us but getting promoted. Unforgivable!
  18. All depends on why they bought the club in the first place. If it was to continue where we were when they bought it, obviously they have spent inadequately and on the wrong targets. If they want to just limp along in the Championship year after year and they have no plans or ambition for the club, then it really doesn't matter. My ideal answer is "whatever it takes" but I care and they don't.
  19. No, let's blame the fans for not inventing non-existent transfer talk---as usual.
  20. Last week we were third. Wake up and smell the coffee!
  21. Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford----all in a lower division than us when Venkys took over. All with lower crowds. None had owners richer than us. You could throw in Fulham as well---always had crowds lower than we did, now they are light years ahead of us. Its not crowds and lack of money that have ruined Rovers.
  22. But plenty forecast we would fall away halfway through when we did get to this position---top---third----fifth etc.
