I think they’re also reliant on fans taking them at their word - which seems ludicrous given the last 12 and a half years. I get emails from the club re tickets, including season tickets - but no follow up to find out why I’m not purchasing or what, if anything would make me do so. Maybe they’ll claim GDPR prevents them from doing so, but I don’t believe this is the case.

Thank you for this 😀 I was going to comment on the use of ‘consultation’… All your suggestions sound very sensible - which is probably why they’ve mainly been ignored. Regarding the bit in bold - you can’t persuade someone who doesn’t want persuading As I just commented (in response to SWs reply to Glen) - has the club offered any ‘proof’ that cheaper prices won’t increase sales - or do they just fall back on ‘our data says…?

Taking my bits in bold in order (I only skim read your reply so apologies if you’ve brought these points up already): Jim won’t like this 😁 Is he able to prove this? Would he be willing to share this data? It’s also a regulated industry so there’s no argument to be made. I disagree that it’s a slightly higher price - but if people couldn’t take advantage of the early bird (aka couldn’t afford it) - what makes him think they’ll be able to pay the higher price??

Just to add to my earlier post: re point 5: he’s claiming their data says lower prices won’t mean more sales but point 7 suggests they think higher prices can mean more sales - sounds very back to front to me. re point 7: I think someone said our figures last year were 9300, so minus 10% but plus 1500-2000 = 9870 to 10370. The club says ‘around 7000’ took advantage of the early bird offer - I think it’s safe to assume this wasn’t over 7000. This means SW is expecting 2,870 - 3,370 people to buy at the higher (or even higher still) prices - that would be around 30% of all sales. I’d love to understand the ‘logic’ behind his ‘thinking’…

Thank you for sharing this with us: 1. Can anyone from the RT and or FF confirm this? 2. It doesn’t matter how many pay days you give if people don’t have that level of disposable income. 3. Whoopee fucking do 4. A cherry picked figure which he surely can’t be using as something to be proud of 5. He’s seriously suggesting that lower prices doesn’t equal higher sales - what utter utter tosh. 6. And if my uncle had tits he would be my aunt. 7. expecting these figures based on what???? 8. what was the criteria for these awards - and what’s that got to do with the price of fish.

I’ve found an LT report from 2009 saying we’d sold 17,500 (Blackburn End and Riverside almost sold out) with three weeks to go ‘til the start of that season. The report includes John Williams defending the decision not to extend the £199 offer* to the Darwen End. It mentions they were hoping to match the 95/96 figure of circa 19,000. *3rd cheapest tickets in the whole league (behind Huddersfield and Accrington) Williams also talks about how good it would be to get even more fans in the ground - no mention of the extra revenue though… -
Or, just ignore this thread.
