  1. Very little difference between them if we are being really honest. Also factor in we lost 2 academy products on modest wages at the time to be replaced by 2 guys who cost a combined c3 mill + ? Plus similar if not bigger wages. In the grand scheme of things you'd expect a better upgrade than what we've actually seen.
  2. Knobbers desperate for his return, mind you some of them are still praying for a Billy Davies return.
  3. So they are grooming another complete novice for the job ? What could possibly go wrong.
  4. Broughton was never fit for purpose the guy had zero experience for the role let alone one at this level at a club like this. Just typical Rovers trying to do stuff on the cheap again hoping they'd landed on a gem who would flourish. He speaks well of course but most of them do yet he operates spouting ideologies that will never happen here then relieves himself of accountability by saying 'i recommend things it's up to the board if they do them'. So he isn't really a director directing anything he's just a hired consultant who they can chose to follow his advice or ignore. He gets paid regardless. Yes a few good signings that may or may not be down to him but the real purpose of him is to bring young players in to develop because there is no money. That's the idea of the model as well as filling half the squad with academy and young loanees to save money. The signings on that mantra - which is supposed to be his area of expertise - have been an all out disaster. That's made a significant contribution to this seasons struggle because we've needed all hands to the pump and those guys have contributed nothing. More of that this summer, is that what we really need ?
  5. The original point is cheaper season tickets not match by match tickets so in your usual arrogant tone and pointless cheek puffing you've spouted the usual generic crap we'd expect from Waggot et all. Big away followings this season have taken the points because the rest of Ewood isn't full enough nor fiesty enough in this current era with this squad so it's like a home game for opposition. When fans and team or 'on it' then we rise to the occasion but all the background noise and nonsense pollutes the stands, understandably and it would at any club. Here in particular though people are just sick and fed up of this regime. They deserve league 1 or the dole even if the players don't. Give them 5k instead of 7 so they ain't breathing down the players necks but more to the point which will obviously be lost on you is the fact it INSPIRES the opposition way beyond what it need to be. You obviously don't actually attend that often if you champion vast away followings because it's nauseating to sit there and i'm sure it's crap for the team. This isn't the Mowbray team or the Souness team it's a squad of 30% academy kids, 20% young loans and they need ALL the help they can get to create an environment to prosper in. Perhaps you and that berk in the directors box ought to start thinking about things from a football and points perspective. Even experienced managers like Mowbray and Allardyce complained to the hierarchy about it and things were done, you obviously know better. Why am i not in the least bit surprised
  6. How many clubs have a stadium as empty as hours, regularly complain about lack of fans and atmosphere yet do nothing about it other than pray for big away followings. That is what is lame and seeing as you've already mentioned a certain set of prices as an even lamer excuse perhaps you could enlighten us with a few suggestions instead. Other than carry on fleecing the ever dwindling hardcore of course.
  7. I'm sure you pretty much preach this teacher to pupil type sermon every summer and i'm sure most of our fans are well aware of all the details. The ST thing above is such a weak argument i'm surprised you included it to be honest, getting fans back into the ground regularly is a priority. In order to do that a small hit in takings will have to be swallowed like Preston have done, like Bolton have done. Their cheapest STs are over a hundred quid less than ours. A fortune to open stands ? Again what bullcrap the bloody things are already open all it would need to comply is a few more stewards. The extra spend in the ground/shop etc will easily cover that. The figures you posted are a nonsense, how is 12,500 grand per game going to bankrupt the club ? It is easily covered by the extra tv money or a good cup run or loose change from the near 40 million quids worth of players we'll have sold in a year by the time Sammie departs. Get fans in, take the hit, rebuild the ST base number ONE priority.
  8. We haven't done well on player trading at all the model is a selling one the issue is we should have had a trading model years ago. That's how similar sized clubs boost their income/wage bill and out perform Rovers, many of them also losing 20 mill per season at times also. Not all under pinned by billionaires either.
  9. No pressure on him from anyone at the club for next season, no expectation just water treading. Grind to at least 50 points will be the target so i expect far more of his early work than the Sun'land, Leeds and Leics type shows.
  10. Pasha and Waggot are in tandam in operation managed decline so i expect it'll be Broughtons head that rolls. More money will wasted paying him off and gagging him.
  11. They bought it through VLL but i'm sure i read somewhere they'd already paid it back though might be wrong. Either way whilst any money is a help it isn't like transferring the usual 10/20 million and i think Waggot is clearly lying again when he said that issue is sorted. If they are offing this pad to get money into the club things are still in a bad way.
  12. Never ever say that under this ownership.
  13. He needs to learn the art of graft and tackling back as a given not when he feels like it. Might be fitness related but it's also attitude he was a passenger at times, a shirker at others and we just cannot afford those in return for the odd goal or assist. Clearly has talent but needs to add a new dimension to it here.
  14. Wasn't quick you're right but most of the time decent delivery he literally turned Rudy into a 6 million player with pin point crosses. Good workrate, great attitude.
  15. Be gone.....to be replaced by worse. But that is the ship we sail in under these cretins.
  16. He'll be great for the first 5 or 6 games next season then it'll catch up again but Wharton is out and we need experience. He'll have to be rotated and rested we can't build the defence around him but... Keep him.
  17. Whenever you look at the site and the 'most read' 90% of the time it's Rovers related so naturally they are a propaganda tool for the club. To be fair they do usually tell it like it is in the most polite terms but the days of putting meat on any bones are long gone.
  18. Sammie, what a player. Better in all depts than Dack and BBD especially attitude, a real gem. Deserves big things if they come next.
  19. Not sure it's the owners they don't give a toss either way but inside the club some seem quite happy to put the gun to the head in terms of relegation. That's very odd as was the refusal to back two different managers in consecutive seasons with the team in the top spots at the Jan window. We aren't talking millions to try and get up OR stave off being a bottom 3 club but a bit of help was desperately needed and no one there was interested in really pushing it. A real board of directors should be going all out as far as they can on both scenarios and demanding the owners do something. Here we have NO real board just a couple of gravy train yes men and i think that is the issue rather than skullduggery, they don't care either way and keep their cushy numbers whatever happens.
  20. That should be on Waggots ST brochure 'Ewood's the road to nowhere, come on inside'
  21. If i was a boxer that'd be my walk out tune, would get right up the hooters of the wokey mob as well so even better. However not sure it's suited to the more docile Ewood environment and the players have likely never heard of it.
  22. Said it two years ago that Bolton like Ipswich, Coventry etc are yet another similar sized club who've been to hell and will come back to pass our water treading shrunken outfit in the near future. Then we'll be told we just cannot compete with these bigger town/city fanbase clubs in order to cover up the Venky/Waggot/Pasha managed decline. How many of those are owned by billionaires ? How many got thousands of fans more when they were shit ?
  23. The 'cash' transfer budget will be 500k or maybe two 500k's Then money into a full loan compliment and a freebie or two, that is the current model. Speaking of loanees i actually feel we haven't made the best of the ones we've had this season. Too much emphasis on Moran as with Morton last season yet one or two who've been more involved lately have looked better. And if you sign a guy like Hill you simply have to have him for a season or it's pretty pointless.
