  1. I fear that kind of weakness might be inherant. Even if it's just the wobbles whilst adjusting to a better more aggressive league it will take time and experience to iron out, alongside the right coaching. See Raya for example.
  2. There's no 'of course' to it really it could very well be relevant. They come over for a finance meeting and are presented with a potential long term development signing by the DoF. So they simply say yes but you'll have to move one out first it's strictly one out one in. Easiest thing to do by far is send back the loan costing the biggest contribution whose club have the recall option and say they'd have him back without fuss.
  3. Yearning for Pears over Leo is like deciding if you prefer butter on your bread or margarine because you can't afford anything else to go on there. Not long ago there were constant yells for Leo over Pears because they'd paid 800k for him so that automatically meant he was better. Yeah well that worked out well. Imo he was always initially coming as back up to Pears whilst he found his feet regardless of the fee. These development lads are short term fixes to the squad because of cost cutting but long term projects on the books. Markanday was, the Crewe lad will be the next one to probably come in and struggle wilst being expected to be as good as Hill.
  4. As i said filling the squad with development players will lead to schoolboy football and errors more consistently than it'll lead to results. That is what they are telling us to like or lump without actually saying it.
  5. Indian delegation turn up - priciest loan set to go back. Coincidence ?
  6. I think they have had approaches but they never even landed on the desk at Pune HQ. Times change of course and given their problems now it would make perfect sense but seeing as they wouldn't even take on well paying shirt sponsors etc when there was interest ! I'd say they'll happily let the club limp along slowly being strangled to death as long as it didn't drag there core business down with it. The only real solution medium to long term is a complete fresh start free of these lot forever.
  7. Oh there will be but we'd have to pay wage contributions so it ain't happening unless he's an U21 third choice with one appearance.
  8. Nailed it. In other words they are looking for the next fall guy to go under the wheels whilst certain teflon coated very well numerated duo's hide away.
  9. So we sell Szmods and Wharton in Jan to pay the bills then cut the budget and shift another in summer, then with running costs down even more they then shove some money in next autumn. By then we are on a fast track to relegation after losing the 3 or 4 quality players we do have to be replaced by more GB sought cheapos. And we are still owned and run by this lot so nothing is gained and everything is still lost, not good at all. We really need to be selling no more players and they need to be putting more money in.
  10. The LT is always infested with the propaganda police and if on here there were calls for the gaffers head on there it woyuld be the opposite. What i have noticed on the sewer aka twitter and faceache is one or two who often claim to be itk on transfers and stuff sticking the boot into JDT, not for the first time either. Wonder where that is being pushed from as you'd think the pro clubbers and plants would be pro the Head Coach !
  11. Aye but the income would be even lower so i suppose it kind of balances out although it would provide them with more excuses to sell assets and make more cuts.
  12. So you refurbish them spending money to make them more neutral then try and make that money back hiring them out to anyone. Classic example of the stupid way this whole set up is run, a totally pointless exercise.
  13. Well if Waggot brought GB in then if they pot GB he has to go as well and i'd boot the pair before JDT. A delegation from India coming over means jack shit as far as the football goes they've no idea what they are watching. They'll probably ask which players have had which mins and how much they might be worth and that's it, results and performances immaterial. The fact they are over now just before the window probably confirms they'll be advising we need a sale or two in Jan to pay the bills till summer.
  14. Now we know why they really did the oh so generous 20 quid early bird right out of the blue.
  15. Look at Hull one good season and they are looking at a couple of quality loans that helped get Bumley over the line. Last season in a better position than them we got a player who couldn't make a poor Huddersfield team. Season before Mowbray brought in 2 duds - one being Markanday - and 2 ok players who didn't make the mark, he should have been backed better but he himself should've looked for a quality player or two instead of 4 squaddies with the wages he was allowed to spend. Constant muddled thinking here, no action, wrong action.
  16. Whatever happens here it is always the Venky model implemented by gravy train riders and half interested grifters so it will NEVER work. Remember all the talk of various models by Mowbray and of course the Brentford model being the one to follow. Also remember plenty of us saying we never never follow that model under this ownership because what we actually do is opposite to that. It's all window dressing thrown out to cover for the absolute fact we have owners who don't give a toss but are willing to keep the club going because it suits (or at least did) their company accounting system. Now though they want that reducing greatly so they can leave the club in a corner of the portfolio soaking up a manageable amount of profit less than 20 mill per year. So the model is and always a lower wage lower cost virtually zero transfer budgets where any player income is mostly to help cover costs. That's it in black and white, no building a strong squad on the cheap to add bits , player trade and go for promotion, no it's just a case of low cot survival as long as we can string it out. Ultimately it'll end up as a league 1 project.
  17. Main difference with JDT and Mowbray is Tony had built up a lot of brownie points in the first few years at the club and that credit in the bank gave him a lot of leeway inside Ewood later on. Jon doesn't have that credit understandably and it's clear even taking into account sales/injuries/0budget that last season had an element of new gaffer bounce to it. Just as Mowbray did at Sunderland but as time moves on methods and styles bed in and it doesn't look quite as effective as it first did. Then of course lump in all the other issues and here we are but make no mistake if it carries on sections of fans will turn on matchday.
  18. Cutting his budget in the process meaning he'd no chance of doing that even if he might have been capable. Bringing him in an actual goalkeeper would've helped but if they want a youth based development squad then we will get a dose of schoolboy football.
  19. Managed decline. Whatever comes in will need something going out first and it'll need to be cheaper wages than what goes out unless it's a big fee sale. Meanwhile Broughton and Waggot will cover over the continued managed decline by telling everyone to 'trust the process'.
  20. Actually the Indian authorities froze their company from transferring funds due to investigations for possible tax avoidance. The govt thing is a bit of a red herring as although they've increased the tax that doesn't mean they stopped money transfer they just want a bigger slice of it. No wonder really seeing as how much has been sent over here in the last decade seemingly for no return or real investment. During all this what if anything is there to stop say Mr B or another of the mob giving or lending Rovers a lump of their own personal cash ? Nothing from where i can see apart from a hefty govt levy but they've never worked like that have they, no it's company profit soakaway.
  21. The next time we hear anything will probably be the next time they go to court to get clearance to send funds and that probably won't be for a while. The Jan transfer window is looming and there are bills to be paid.........
  22. Driven by sheer desperation. We all want him to do well but the fact we are praying that a lad who is now 24 and from the German B league can answer our problems says everything as to where this horrific running of the club has now landed us. Reminds me of the days we were borrowing the like of Phil Starbuck from Huddersfield to plug the holes left by the injured Garner and Kennedy ! We really did have nothing then though and it took Jack Walker to eventually rescue that sorry situation.
  23. Ah the famous Rovers wage bill, often a source of intrigue.
  24. Several do though as a fee was paid.
