Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

I don't misunderstand anything at all. My issue is that although the project he was bullshitted into changed in summer to the one you mention if we are to stay in this league and provide a higher platform for player development then some adaptions on the pitch are desperately needed. There is no value created, other than the odd isolated case, in a team at the bottom of the division that can't win nor defend and even less value to be created in league 1. There has to be a 'win some' mentality instead of win at all cost mentality and actualy what we've seen many times this season is a try and win at all cost mentality on the pitch. So i'd politely suggest it's you misunderstanding what JDT has actually been trying to do. He has despite the budget rug being pulled from under him just carried on trying to move 'his' idealistic project forwards with a weaker squad and players not equipped enough to do it. That's partly on him imo and what he has to be held to account for as all the club have said is stay up, give youth mins and increase value that way. At least 50% of the style of football we try and play continually is down to him not his bosses. that's the debate here. -

Exactly. It's a constant one step forwards two steps backwards. -

So time for a debate.... 1 win in how many ? Yet another player who has been a steady performer and often a rock at time despite his topsy turver form is now out the door because he doesn't fit JDTs 'style'. Kaminsky a great goal keeper for us and now starring for Luton suddenly looked ropey under JDT's 'style'. Buckley, showing green shoots under Mowbray and becoming a decent 1st team squad member struggles with JDT's 'style' and is loaned out, only coming back through injury. Hirst a goal scoring prospect from league 1 now banging them in and getting assists as a cnetre fwd at 2nd placed Ipswich clearly couldn't hack this style here. Ennis , poor signing but now fit doesn't appear to fit the style. There are many more and although iv'e been mostly a defender of him i'm now very skeptical that he isn't really a big part of the issues here now. We just don't have the money to rebuild the team in how he wants to play yet persist with it and instead start to replace everyone in it with a younger cheaper downgrade and try and coach them into this style so they are supposedly worth more money. Must say i'm not feeling it anymore and when he fires off what is he going to leave us with ? -

Not good enough to use for a struggling side playing 'expansive' football but deemed good enough to go and help out at the side in 2nd. Who play good old championship style football with a squad that was in league 1 last year. The flaws with our model are there for all to see. -

No matter what us experts on here think the facts are to more or less guarantee an improvement on someone like Travis they need to be bringing in someone of Tronstads age and experience. To improve on Gallagher we need another with a bit of pedigree like Sammie had. Chances of these types of things happening are near enough nil the bigger picture is weed out all the bigger earners but we called this last summer anyway. This is where budget cuts lead so we have to pray they find cheap wage development players who can contribute more. Despite what gets said about those 2 senior players over a season they do contribute, a kid who stays fit more and has better running around stats needs to contribute something more to replace that kind of experience. -

If Hill has been costing 10k pwk then that's a fair chunk to put towards the Crewe lad. -
Combination of both i'd say although it could have been avoided altogether then 3k home tickets might have been sold and another 3k at least between now and kick off, They really are a set of prats but it all comes back to Waggot the buck stops with him and it just shows the staggering level of incompetence before we even get to ownership level. This club never stands a chance of really moving forwards it's beyond debate.

Except it'll probably be a third of that actually available so we'll still be in the same market we are in now. -

I like him as a back up player in the early stages of his development as a first team squad member but able replacement for Travis at this moment in time he ain't. -

Well losing him then replacing with another development player but from 2 leagues lower than Hills parent club fits right in the operation downgrade model. Lets hope this one works unlike the failing keeper experiment. -

complete bunch of stupid clowns and i'll include in that all the idiots pushing total digitisation of everything. Too stupid to realise it's all about silicone valley taking control of everything and making the usual corporations, investors and Blackrock etc huge dividends. -

I'm pretty certain when a player is signed a first instalment will have to change hands straight away. Unless they do 0 % deposits like a car dealership ! -

Leopold Wahlstedt. About Damn Time.

I'm fuming that we are in this position yet again and it's all down to incompetence can't even really blame cost cutting as they spent big on him. I'm fuming at some of the goals a pro keeper has let in and whilst no one can help Pears getting injured he was hardly stamping his claim to be a permanent number one. I'm fuming they've just sleep walked into this position with keepers yet again never learning that making do with cheap options hoping to make a few quid is proven high risk. I am though feeling sorry for Leo he ain't doing it on purpose and the last thing he needs are fans on his back and boneheads singing stupid songs. -

It's straight out of the TK scenario last year the writing is on the wall for Travis unfortunately imo. Squeezing him out ticks several boxes with the new 'model' being cranked into action, older head on bigger wages, coach wouldn't pick him automatically even before the DoF might have said we need rid, will command a small fee. The priority of winnig points is secondary to the process being implemented. -
So - like the training ground planning application - he knows nothing ? Then surely if that's the case there is a stadium and/or commercial manager who does know about these things ? Is there anyone in these positions who does actually give a toss about Rovers and has the club and fans in their veins or are they all just recruited from some dressed up cv at a recruitment firm ? There is no true BRFC heart and soul in that place by the looks of it.

But again the focus and finance seems to be being prepared to snare the lad from Crewe who may not even come until the summer anyway. Even if he does he is just another body we'll be lucky if he makes a difference straight away. He isn't James Hill or Van Hecke from Prem clubs he's another Pickering who'll need time and development. Not writing the lad off by any means but right now we need more substance we've enough raw potential and non Championship ready 1st players already here. As usual it appears priority's will be all wrong yet again. -

Does nobody else feel we should forget about these development signings right at this moment and concentrate on something that can come in and contribute now ? Making room in the finances and maybe selling someone just to get in another 500k kid from a lower league is playing a lottery we don't need right at this moment. Doing that with Markandy 2 years ago maybe contributed to us losing a top 2 spot. Now we just need to start getting points on the board. Wouldn't do any harm to bin the high risk (for a club with no money) long term development strategy just for one window even if we only use the brass for a couple of loans. -
Never ever go back, if we weren't struggling at the min his name wouldn't get mentioned, what we need is a target man not another wide fwd/wing hugger.

Still advertising it as of ten mins ago.

But we did sign the next Ronaldinho and just gave the money to agents instead of a player. His name was Rochinio
