  1. Ipswich are a strong side obviously but they are on a promotion bounce, just one season out of league 1. They are beatable and have been. The whiff of defeatism is swirling again.
  2. So Mowbray after repeatedly failing to get anywhere on a mid table budget and 15 mill spent on 3 fwds then tells them to forget the promotion as it needs 100 mill to get there. Next we have Waggot telling them the best way instead is invest minimum for FFP, sell best players to top up the bills, continually cut the budget and don't back the coach most likely to get you there. You'd think they might have worked it out by now and found some middle ground.
  3. The Venky chicken shop brand might be well known in some areas but the family themselves i don't think so and certainly not outside of Pune. I doubt they come in the top 100 influential families or wealthy families in India and their so called influence isn't doing them much good at the moment in court. Of course on their doorstep the media won't rock the boat if they make advert money just like in small town Blackburn with the LT. Wider picture i'm sure if the right money was paid something could get published there have been articles before also their present issues have been reported on. If they are falling 'fowl' of this present regime then now would probably be a good time to strike because someone is after them that's obvious.
  4. One of the country's most powerful families ? In India ? Bollox
  5. We got the new manager grind instead of bounce. To be fair though if he was as clueless as some say we'd have been losing still but without laying a glove on the opposition, plenty examples of new manager flop around this league.
  6. I think the only sell if promoted to Prem line is just thrown out as justification to 'protect' their investment when it comes to pacifying the banks, shareholders and Indian court. They need an excuse to continue reduced funding and do whatever it is that benefits them crunching profit numbers off the VG group balance sheet. Would they really sell if the miracle of promotion and a guaranteed 100 mill plus suddenly appeared ? I'm certain they wouldn't.
  7. Teams that came at us at home previously you'd fancy scoring a few goals, you knew we'd concede at least 2 but we'd also exploit the space they left and carve them open back to front at times. Now though other than punts forward that doesn't seem the case and i expect Eustace again will try and park the bus. Could be a tricky afternoon trying to absorb constant pressure for 95 mins from a team that always seems to find a way to score.
  8. It's Nixon so it's a half truth at best and unless anyone speaks directly to a head Rao they've no idea the feelings on selling the club IF there is genuine interest. Often get the feeling there is a buffer between here and Venkys on this subject and the people sat comfortably in the middle of that in the shadows are the ones who don't want to see it sold but don't care about progress either. Because it's very comfortable and lucrative and peaceful for them sat there.
  9. He'll be a victim of the summer cull and for those who always have it in for him i think they'll be disappointed when an academy lad replaces him.
  10. We've been through this with Dolan many times over and he keeps getting written off but bounces back however that usually comes after a spell out either injured or dropped. We do though miss him when he is out for a spell although that is more to do with how weak the squad is than the actual player himself sometimes. That squad weakness though means he and some others can't be managed properly and withdrawn/rotated when they are poor. I'd keep him on an average contract but certainly wouldn't be throwing big money and 4 years at him.
  11. Hedges would have been a top player if he could ever maintain any form but it's always very up and down with him. Mind you Dolan is the same and a lot of the others that's why they are where they are.
  12. I think readings owner transferred the ground to another of his companies as well. That guy makes Venkys look sane.
  13. The reason they are asking for a bond of equal amount is to ensure the money sent here is used specifically for the items it is requested for to run the football club. If it isn't and they don't provide proof the bond will be non returnable so it's nowt to do with the VG group bank account or borrowings i assume. Somewhere at the heart of all this the authorities over there obviously suspect some money has been going elsewhere which is something iv'e long suspected and banged on about. That's why i'm surprised they haven't tried to get an investigation over here but i also assume if anything has been going on the track are will covered. Personally i'd be forensically dissecting the payroll and the agents fees of the last decade !
  14. Can we please actually try and beat Sheff Weds and not wax on about how good a team they are i thought we'd left that negative speak every week behind when Mowbray left. One of the most positive things about JDT was he didn't big up crap opposition routinely.
  15. The SBI debt will be secured and under pinned by Venky assets/land in India so they'll be risking that being seized if they default. The way it seems structured is the VH group bank account pays Rovers losses from its vast turnover and as for the Indian govt they've already stepped in obviously and i'm talking about how it'll be portrayed in the media and by some of our delusional fans in order to defend Venkys.
  16. Broughton signed Ennis on a 4 year contract, a player the previous manager didn't appear to want to use. Broughton signed Telalovic on a long contract for a few hundred grand, see above. Broughton signed Leo who has single handily cost us about 6 points there can be no denying that. Broughton signed a known crock on 10/20k a week until the end of the season who got crocked after 15 mins predictably. These are the things he is judged on, Sammie. Hyam, Brittain all already lined up before he came but even so paying a few quid and decent wages to guys with a bit of pedigree is less of a lottery. GB was broughton in to source and sign young cheap talent to develop and sell for a profit, he is falling massively on that front. Another 4 in summer to add to the 4 mentioned and likely replacing departures..... dear me are you confident ? Because i'm not.
  17. I've already called it they are gradually and tactically withdrawing. All blame will go onto the Indian govt when we go down skint and having sold everyone and everything, this season or next. Then a few years in league 1 'poor old Blackburn the owners want to fund the club to the Prem but aren't allowed' then we get forgotten about. Sit in the corner of their portfolio now costing less than 10 mill a year including levies, fixed assets off the books then punted to one of Balaji's son's mates in 2028. Indian govt is the new FFP.
  18. Strikingly obvious is the fact they don't need 15/20 million per year EVERY year. Also there'll be evidence of those businesses generating returns or growing their base due to investment and that's something that cannot be said of funding this football club. I'd say it's the eye watering amounts and the continued need for them that has caught the govts attention.
  19. That's before then there is after i.e the Indian govt will want proof the money was used for what it was allocated for and nothing else. That's the centre of this whole issue. Then surely once that is confirmed as legit and signed off then the 11 million equivalent should be released back to Vs or obviously held if the same amount is allowed to be sent again. It can't be as if they have to keep giving the govt equal amounts as security and they just keep hold of it as has been mentioned.
  20. I've never bought the pride line as the primary driving force as to why they carry on owning Rovers although i do get the 'look at us we are so wealthy we can chuck 20 million a year away on a whim' vibe. Even that is out the window now though there is no pride to be had owning a struggling club that has now exposed some dodgy dealings. And whatever happens in court - who'd be surprised if it's pushed back again - the whole 15/20 million a year is gone for good even if they got approval they'd be paying 20% in tax instead of avoiding it. Games up, for them and us.
  21. Some might say they are very slowly tactically withdrawing bit by bit.
