  1. It's what happens in the stadium that matters and we all remember the reaction to that first home game in lge 1. That was the best thing that happened that season otherwise i'm sure he's have persisted with that stupid formation. Again just set up to shoehorn people in, then we'd have fallen behind from the start. Promotion might not have been as straight forwards then. The rocket the fans gave the players acted as a reality check but like a few have said that's been missing too long now. There'll be pressure on him when there's fans back in there make no mistake. Superfans turn quick as well once they've reached a certain point. Twitter/Facebook etc is great for spreading whatever propaganda might suit the narrative but it an't the real world. That's still a harsh one where a spade is a spade and crap is crap.
  2. The club lead by this manager and CEO are just setting themselves to sit in the middle of this div. Developing players with our development performance related coach and his staff. What that really means is shoehorning people in wherever and having systems of play to accommodate rather than the strongest 11 consistently. Passed off as having to set out to try and stop the opposition so we can dominated possession and win games. It is the sum total of this lots capabilities so we have to operate at their level because he's a nice guy and we might get worse. That in reality is what this is they won't upgrade to try and go up a level so we have to operate at the level of capabilities of those in charge. Doesn't matter that his squad is capable of better because trying to change it is too much bother, too expensive and all the rest. I'd say the owners are in on it but when they are allegedly slapping 25 mill on Armstrong they clearly don't want to sell. So it's a bit odd that we them seem so desperate for cash they are going to try and sell fixed assets ? Something isn't adding up again at all down there this has all the hallmarks of when silly prices were first slapped on Rhodes. He eventually left for very little real profit. Who's beavering away in the middle of all this i wonder ?
  3. Same here, chippies in Brinscall and Withnell always the trusty chip barm. Hardly a long way from Blackburn.
  4. When has he ever done that ? Who puts balls in anyway ? Absolutely full of shit. He's world number one at saying what we didn't do and what we couldn't do ! If he spent more time working on our strengths as a team and less crapping himself about the odd good player in the opposition we might get somewhere.
  5. Bob Saxton of the 2020's except backed by billionaires, a Cat A academy, 15 million pounds worth of strikers and loans from top Prem clubs. Come on what do we expect really ? He's had to play kids and reserves all season hasn't he because the entire first team is injured 🙄
  6. That crackpot always goes against the grain i think every Venky manager he's found more than one reason to keep.
  7. If you look back at it though the longer serving guys have taken a bit of ousting. Remember all the nonsense about Bowyer being sacked getting put about when he hadn't been ? That put the wheels in motion, it seems to me guys here become aware that their card is marked and get a few gentle nudges hoping they'll resign. They don't then they dig their heels in knowing there's always a generous pay off. Berg had Singh on his case from day one, Singh made life to difficult for Kean. Bowyer got the above plus players sold from under him. They even parachuted Senior in to get rid of Coyle. Non of that can happen here with the way the inside of the club is now under this manager. Wouldn't be surprised if shenanigans start in summer and then balls up all the close season. Mowbray has basically said to them through the press pay me off or put up with me until i decide to go. He won't go easily and it'll be costly.
  8. One of them can't though they've all got to agree and big sis has to sign it off. June meeting scheduled.
  9. Someone on twitter was supposed to be doing an official survey, the Bank of Dave Burnley fella it was. Never happened though, Chip BARM rules 😎
  10. Barmcake ! A survey of North West chippies would turn up more menus saying chip barm than tea cake.
  11. Let me guess, 'we shut out a good Coventry side with our bare bones team so it's another point in the bag. We continue the journey, which started yesterday again in light of recent shite results'
  12. Main issue at Rovers is how income disappears down the black hole. That's understandable with the running costs but this kind of scheme is dangerous. Get PP then sell land then suddenly find there isn't enough to do the intended because something else suddenly needs attention. So the lands gone, most of the money is gone and there's no state of the art facility just a spruce up job. Then the word will be it's had to be postponed until we get to the Prem or sell someone for 50 mill. Very shaky ground this kind of thing at this moment in time, what if there are more lockdowns in future years ?
  13. Never forget the Kean comments nor the photo of his best pal Orr mocking the club crest. His opinions are no more valid than any other fan whatever they might be. Away from that some of the personal stuff at Mowbray is a bit out of order. Although the drizzle cake stuff is more banter than anything and has been around ages. Anybody getting offended at that is a bit of a plum. Trouble is once fans feel they are being dug at and the longer a manager like him detaches himself from every awful run he presides over, the more nasty it'll get. If he'd outstayed his time at his beloved Boro it would've got a lot more tasty than it is here.
  14. Everybody loves a bit of virtue signalling on there it's the order of the day towards allsorts just at the min. And that's all it is, no sign of most of these after every poor defeat and when he's lashing out. Do a sob story and twist it around so suddenly he's the victim ( on about 500k per yr ) and they sniff it out a mile away and are all over it. Lose today there'll be nothing but a handful hanging about again. As for Dunn is there a more self interested person out there than him ? Isn't he an agent now as well as house salesman, land owner, failed manager and coach ? If Mowbray had bounced him out the club i suspect he'd be shouting from a different hymn sheet. At least Gallagher has the balls to speak up.
  15. Tide will turn today, despite all the stuff surrounding the man with no responsibility who just turns up trying to win football matches. Then just shrugs his shoulders, waffles for ten mins and goes home when we don't. Despite all this the team is still better than its been showing recently so something has to give. Still think we'll finish the season in better form. Then we'll be in exactly the same dilemma this time next year whether it's a fitter squad or not. Tea & biscuits anyone ?
  16. I certainly think the club have PR people reading and feeding stuff back. The number of times it's sounded like he's answering stuff directly that's been mentioned on here is noticeable. Might just be coincidence but there's been quite a bit of it.
  17. Another sickening PR job that's barely left a dry eye on some social media platforms. Polar opposite to what he was trotting out the other day, i'm not sure he's devious i just think he's muddled again. Right from when he walked in the door i thought he looked like a man caught between two minds. That's probably why he's never been a top end championship manager because he does have his good points. Something though is lacking and i'm convinced it's the conflict within his own mind. His stuff on the pitch and in recruitment screams it loud and clear.
  18. Much needed resounding win and welcome 3 points versus Tony's whipping boys. Changes absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things but the marginal gain journey will be back on track.
  19. If it's followed the same level of care and attention the pitch and ground have.....
  20. It seems part of his role is that of 'think tank' to come up with handfuls of ideas, pitch them and hope to get one signed off. If that's the role of a football club consultant i think i'd like to have a crack at that job. The only thing so far i can see that he's pushed through is the waggot tax and shutting the Darwen end. That's a tiny matchday saving offset by the loss of those who jacked it in instead of being shunted about. And a moderate matchday income increase offset by the ones who decide to go at the last min jacking it in on principle of being penalized for doing so. Doesn't exactly inspire much faith neither does the tying up of 12 million in two fanciful punts, i presume he had some input in that as CEO. Perhaps he's trying to atone.
  21. He's clearly angry it leaked out and there can only be one of two reasons.... They wanted to trumpet about it in a big fanfare that would have come in handy covering this seasons washout. or It was intended to be done and dusted as stealthily as possible for as long as possible. Just wondering if it all isn't about the balance sheet in the short term. The moving & rebuilding of a state of the art pie in the sky site will take years. And years after that for it to bear any fruit. Still 'the boys are struggling to train properly due to the renovations' will come in handy for future under performing reasons.
  22. It's an over ambitious plan for a side piddling about in midtable in the championship. All the clubs efforts and focus should be directed towards trying to get promotion, even a play off or 3 would rake in extra cash. It really sounds to me like another fanciful plan sold to the owners with big promises of things to come. All part of this 'journey' sales pitch you might say. Get to the Prem the running costs would be covered or there'd be finance to do the project. Until then it would be better left alone its got crackpot scheme written all over it when you consider the last 10 years.
  23. These lot have their feet firmly under the table, regardless of midtable mediocrity forever. They have big plans for themselves, sorry, the club by the sounds of it.
  24. I did notice the eyes averting from fixed gaze and the twitching and blinking when it went off football into the housing etc 🤔
