Summer transfer window 2021.

A lot of it still paying for past / repeated mistakes no doubt. I wouldn't be surprised though if an entire British or European based branch of the family get paid through the club ! -

Only forensic accounting would uncover what the real benefit is and the only forensic accounting is the type they probably have in India. Unless money laundering, arms or drugs are suspected to be involved, which they aren't, then no authority is bothered this end. Whatever corporate spin they are pulling will be going on elsewhere as well to varying degrees. It's why such people buy such businesses and 'lose' millions through them quite happily. The other thing to consider is one or all of them make so much money from their core business. Alongside their own personal investments that they just throw it around and don't keep track of it properly because they don't have to. Only every now and then or when some shit his a fan is there a proper review into what's going on. I suspect here that's entirely possible but it's a mixture of corporate benefits for the core business owning the club. Coupled with personal ego and a money pit to get rid of spare change with the added kudos of putting money into grateful peoples pockets in England. -

It only adds up if Venkys are happy or need to flush 15 million plus through the pipes every year. And whatever purpose this serves they are happy to just play with the club and pay yes men to experiment over here. The club remains in limbo and just at the whim of someone getting it right once in a blue moon due to law of averages. As it shows at Preston, Barnsley, Brentford, Millwall etc, if there's a plan and everyone pulls in the right direction it doesn't need to keep creating monumental losses. Here it's like we have a need to keep creating them so the ownership can get rid of it's spare cash. Yet it doesn't really matter what happens in the middle and the FFP just gets in the way. -

It might unavoidably need to be done but it should be being done with a new regime in place. It would make it so much easier to stomach than having those who've contributed to it just carry on. Especially when their arse covering answer to it was to try and start selling fixed assets. -

As the team goes nowhere then the income gradually shrinks as a direct result the two are inextricably linked. Only player sales and trading offer any sort of relevance to alter that. Team goes nowhere, manager spends 12 million, team goes nowhere again, manager keeps stretching the wage bill, team still goes nowhere. Crowds, merchandise, corporate and tv income dwindle as a result of everybody getting fed up. Prices then get put up which alienates and aggravates more people. Vicious circle yet in the middle sit the suits and management costing the club a few million and just shrugging their shoulders. Then some goons have the nerve to blame fans. -
How many senior coaches do we actually have ? As far as i'm concerned Mowbray implements the style of play and if not there is something very odd going on. Is Venus better in with Waggot than Mowbray ? ( now consider the training ground stuff ) Is he the one the players respond to more ? Just how did Venus get elevated from assistant to some sort of DOF when it came to recruitment ? Then ask why Mowbray never takes any responsibility himself and often looks like it's all going over his head. The sooner this little cliche clear out the better, all the bleeding lot of them.

In the podcast i think it was and along the lines of they have opposing views on the best way we should play.
-
Danny Graham told us similar last year. Disagreements are common but if there is clear daylight all the time then just how can the team be settled. Needs everyone pulling in the same direction but we know Mowbray's loyalty first approach and anything for a quiet life. He did seem to be the one pushing the possession tactics though.

Like last time when they spent big in the first two years you mean ? Main problem there was they threw it all in the wrong direction and there was nothing left for year 3. Which is why we are where we are now although a 15 million sale of Dack would've seen it through. -

Agree on the first point. Second point though i don't think that was on the the cards at all, i think him Waggot & co have sold them this latest reset of the journey to their pensions. We have to remember Mowbray hinting at it last season when he was coming under the mildest of questioning from the local rag. They've been drawing this plan up imo as their latest get out of jail and keep being paid card. -
There were signs quite early his methods just weren't suited to what we wanted in this league. But stability became the watchword and he'd also landed himself and us with most of the squad that took us down in the first place. Long term over generous contract extensions meant we had to sit it out whilst he talked the talk about rebuilding with a championship squad. For the next chapter, having a rreal go at the top end. That was 3 years ago and he's totally blown that and the backing he was given for it. Asking him to move along 2 years ago would've been fairly sensible and understandable for any club with a hint of ambition. He's proved very good at talking his way around things though. Setting new goals then quickly moving the posts as if it never happened. That is why folk are fed up of him, not necessarily the failure but the lack of having a real go. And the complete claptrap of talking his way around it time after time. Absolutely nothing will change if he stays another 4 years and gets the same backing as the last 4. Everybody knows it.

The sad story of Keith Treacy
tomphil replied to Paul Mellelieu's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Very telling this and something that's very noticeable at our level with lively young players. Instead of enhancing the strengths first and foremost. Fitting them in the team using those strengths it's all about drill the individuality out of them and play them out of position to 'develop'. At first team level that often doesn't help the team or player but managers like Bowyer and Mowbray just can't help themselves. Some managers just seem to want robots it's no wonder the product is going so boring. Daft names being invented for positions when you have 4 or 5 in the squad who are the same so need to fit them in somehow. Travis although raw looked like the fiesty box to box dynamic midfielder we'd craved for years. So refreshing after years of Lowe and Evans and co but it looks like they want him just sat in front of the back line breaking up play as well. Dolan, a real bright spark seemed to be being told to pass sideways and backwards. Then there's Chapman rarely getting a look in since they made such a fuss to get him here. Then you get 6ft plus forwards doing the donkey work up and down flanks operating as so called 'wide strikers'. It's mind numbing and cancels out any fluidity or momentum, or balance. -

As a few lads who've quit the game at young ages have said recently - it's all about tactics. Little space in teams for the likes of Rochina other than cameo appearances. Not many teams have a go for it attitude and managers are too happy with safety first. It doesn't entertain the punters but it keeps people in jobs and big wages. Money is priority in every sport these days. -

This post needs distributing all over twitter etc So the one's who just don't get it finally realize just why we are where we are. Venkys for the most part are pouring money in covering their direct and indirect cock ups. Not some lovingingly generous benefactors who've jumped in to keep the lights on to the tune of 20 mill per season just because they love BRFC. -
It's hilarious but at the same time genuinely bizarre when these types always spin it back onto the fans. That's the fans who haven't even been allowed in the stands for over a year. Almost as stupid as the ones who crack on like covid only happened in Blackburn and our football wage bill is akin the Accrington Stanley. Last season was exactly the same for every club and many had injury and pitch issues. A good chunk of those still out performed us over the season. Nothing exposed the flaws in Mowbrays management like last season. Or the fact we rely on Venkys for nothing at all except their money to underwrite their and the people they employs mess.

Wasn't really expecting it to be any less for Leeds i think most clubs will charge that for Prem opposition. More Leeds than Rovers no doubt and will we even sell 1500 for Bolton at £10 in the current malaise ? I'm actually more concerned with what will be on display, two 0-1 defeats, manager happy, possession stats good. How many years are we behind Leeds and Bolton and their 'models' ? I'm sure we'll soon find out.

Don't know but i do know he wouldn't be a 35-1 shot so no chance he'll end up here. They know they can palm lesser off the scrapheap onto Venkys. -

Yes it isn't a question of good fans/bad fans, buy or don't buy, because the owners are ignorant to it all. The spin is a problem though as every ticket not bought is another hole in the finances and another stick to beat fans with. Every one bought is supporting the way it's run and managed and can be presented as evidence of whole hearted support, when it isn't. Buggered either way but fans or no fans they'll carry on regardless. Paying the bills and putting money into the grateful pockets of those spinners. That's why i don't really think it matters to them who comes or doesn't come. Not much point arguing about it anymore really, just get with the general attitude of shrug the shoulders, droop your head and trudge on. -

Last 3 or 4 managers here, same agency allegedly. If Mowbray walked they'd have another from the dole through the door. After a prolonged wait just to let the odds perculate to 35-1 of course. -

That isn't the argument now though is it. The issue is for the last few years the hardcore who stuck with it through Kean etc is being eroded away. Combination of factors but the biggest one over the last few years is the mind numbing manager who wouldn't know ambition if it smacked him in the face. If the hardcore feel they are being played a lot will only stick it for so long. Forget about Premier league fans every club of our ilk has them. They are long gone but we can't and don't seem arsed about keeping the ones that really matter. If someone has had an ST for the last decade and just says enough is enough you don't call them a bad fan. You look at why they are saying this and what you can do, within reason, to try and persuade them otherwise. -

Again another spot on post. The policy is enquire about a few we can't afford just to make it look like we are doing something. Leave a few offers on tables if they don't get fixed up, then apart from that they wait just to see what's left and what the last min loan market offers. That's why more often than not we end up with unbalanced squads, loads for certain positions that get rotated and short on others. Just filling out spaces in the squad by the end of windows. No horses for courses and players shoehorned in. -

Correct, history being rewritten to suit there's a lot of it about around Rovers at the min. Mowbray in black and white in the press said you could say we sold the goalie to buy a striker. Rayas 3 mill paid the 3 mill down payment on Gallagher. Nobody be telling me that was good business at the time. To be a really good strong progressive club we'd have ended up with the likes of Kaminski and Raya fighting it out for number 1. That is how you build clubs up.
